6 About This Document About This Document Overview This document explains how to configure the software version IAD06.20 or later for all Enterprise models of QuesCom 200/400 Gateway once properly hardware installed and powered up. For the hardware installation of the QuesCom gateway, refer to the document Getting Started with QuesCom Gateway Hardware Installation Audience This document is intended for experienced technicians, service representatives, and other persons trained to install software programs of telecommunication systems. Such persons are expected to have sufficient knowledge of computing and network in order to take suitable safety precautions while configuring the software program described herein. 9 Chapter 1 - Introduction 1. Introduction Introduction Since the version IAD05.1, the installation and configuration phases of QuesCom Gateways can be done using the Web interface only (previous installation procedures using telnet are still available). Two Web wizards facilitate the installation of the QuesCom Gateway: The installation wizard, dedicated to the initial system configuration, replacing the config /setup procedure. The configuration wizard, for the call routing configuration. QuesCom Page 9/25

10 Chapter 2 - Installation wizard 2. Installation wizard Process description The new installation process of QuesCom Gateway is described in the table below: Steps Action 1 Unpack the QuesCom Gateway; connect the power supply and the IP cable. 2 From a PC connected on same network than the QuesCom Gateway, create a new IP interface on the network Example IP address: / Do not use the IP address reserved for the QuesCom Gateway. 3 Connect a web browser to the following address: Wizard steps The installation wizard is composed on several steps as shown in the left side of the snapshot below: QuesCom Page 10/25

11 Chapter 2 - Installation wizard Wizards steps description The table below describes all fields of all steps to complete during the installation wizard. Language Parameter Company name Gateway name IP address Explanation Select the language of the interface between English, French and German. Enter the name of the company. Enter the network name of the QuesCom Gateway, e.g. PARIS_GT_1. This name must be unique on the network. Enter the IP address of the QuesCom Gateway e.g Subnet mask Enter the network mask e.g Default gateway Enter the IP address of the default gateway, e.g DNS (Separated by ;) Enter Domain Name Server IP addresses, separated by ;. Country Language Time zone Daylight saving time Use Network time protocol NTP server address Gateway installation mode Master IP address Select from the list the country where the gateway is located. Select the language used by the QuesCom Gateway for s, IVR and voice box, Select from the list the time zone of the QuesCom Gateway. Click Yes to enable the Daylight saving time. Click Yes to synchronize time with a Network Time Protocol server. Enter the IP address of the Network Time Protocol server. For a standalone installation of the gateway, select Standalone/Master. If a QuesCom Gateway in standalone mode is already present in the architecture and you want to connect this QuesCom Gateway select Relay. Enter the IP address of the QuesCom Gateway installed in standalone mode. QuesCom Page 11/25

12 Chapter 2 - Installation wizard Wizard end At the end of the wizard a summary of the configuration is displayed: Click Back to modify parameters if required. Click Finish to accept the settings. The QuesCom Gateway will reboot and automatically start the Configuration wizard. This wizard will be accessible on the new IP address of the QuesCom Gateway Warning! Do not switch off the QuesCom Gateway before the end of the reboot. The estimated time is 3 min. QuesCom Page 12/25

13 Chapter 3 - Configuration wizard 3. Configuration wizard Functions selection The first step of the configuration wizard consists in selecting functions to be configured on the QuesCom Gateway. The selection of these functions will create default entities (VoIP trunks ) and services (call routes). Of course, other entities and call routes can be created after the end of the configuration wizard. The snapshot below shows the first step of the configuration wizard: Choice description Possible choices of this step are described below: Choice GSM gateway & SMS Fax Gateway Explanation Select this if you want to use the QuesCom Gateway as a GSM gateway for GSM calls and sending/receiving SMS. This configuration will allow you to terminate calls and SMS on the GSM networks thanks to GSM boards and SIM cards inserted into the Gateway. This is the QuesCom solution for cost reduction on the telecom bill. Select this if you want to use the QuesCom Gateway as a FAX gateway. This configuration will allow you to send and receive ISDN fax or IP FAX to/from your PC workstation. This is the QuesCom One number solution(calls / GSM and fax on the same number) Note : Both functions can be selected at the same time. GSM gateway & SMS choice appears only on QuesCom Gateway with GSM boards. QuesCom Page 13/25

14 Chapter 3 - Configuration wizard Connection mode The second step of the wizard allows you to describe how the QuesCom Gateway is connected to a PBX or to an IP-PBX. This choice is offered only if the QuesCom Gateway has an ISDN board. The snapshot below shows the second step of the configuration wizard: Choice description Possible choices of this step are described below: ISDN Choice Explanation Select this choice if the QuesCom Gateway is connected by ISDN (PRI or BRI lines), to the PSTN and/or to a PBX VoIP Select this if the QuesCom Gateway is connected to an IP-PBX. Next steps of the wizard depend on the connection mode selected here. QuesCom Page 14/25

15 Chapter 3 - Configuration wizard ISDN connection If the ISDN connection mode has been selected, the next question of the wizard concerns the position of the QuesCom Gateway. The snapshot below shows the Gateway position step of the wizard: Choice description The two possible positions are described in the table below: Pass-through Dedicated Choice Explanation Select this if the QuesCom Gateway is connected between the PSTN and the PBX. For QuesCom Gateway with BRI boards ISDN ports #0 and/or #2 are connected to the PSTN and ISDN ports #1 and/or #3 are connected to the PBX For QuesCom Gateway with PRI boards ISDN ports #0 is connected to the PSTN and ISDN ports #1 is connected to the PBX Select this if the QuesCom Gateway is connected only to the PBX. For QuesCom Gateway with BRI boards, ports #1 and/or #3 are connected to the PBX-BRI (ports #0 and #2 are not used) PRI board, the port #1 is connected to the PBX-PRI. (port #0 is not used) Check Use PBX as clock source if the gateway should not generate its own ISDN clock. QuesCom Page 15/25

16 Chapter 3 - Configuration wizard VoIP connection If the VoIP connection mode has been selected, the next question of the wizard concerns the declaration of IP-PBX VoIP parameters. The snapshot below shows the VoIP Parameters step of the wizard: VoIP parameters Fields are described in the table below: Choice Explanation Trunk name Enter here the name of the IP-PBX. Protocol Select the VoIP communication protocol (SIP or H323). IP address Enter the IP address of the IP-PBX. Note The trunk (Foreign gatekeeper) SIP, will be created with the profile NOOPT_SIP H323, with the profile NO_RAS_H323 Of course, once the wizard is finished: All these parameters can be modified if needed Other IP-PBX can be declared QuesCom Page 16/25

17 Chapter 3 - Configuration wizard GSM prefix If the QuesCom Gateway embeds GSM boards, the configuration wizard will ask for GSM prefix. For QuesCom Gateway connected to a VoIP environment, all calls coming from the IP-PBX and beginning with this prefix will be automatically routed to GSM ports of the QuesCom Gateway. For QuesCom Gateway connected to an ISDN environment (dedicated or pass-through mode), all calls coming from PBX ports with this GSM prefix will be automatically routed to GSM ports of the QuesCom Gateway. The snapshot below show the GSM prefix step of the wizard. SMTP server Whatever the function selected (GSM and/or Fax) or the connection mode selected (VoIP or ISDN) the wizard will ask for SMTP server IP address. This IP address will be used for sending by voice box messages (if the service is manually configured after the wizard) s containing SMS received on GSM ports s containing fax The snapshot below shows the SMTP Server step of the wizard. 18 Chapter 3 - Configuration wizard Summary The last step of the configuration wizard consists in approving the summary of all settings. The snapshot below shows a summary of a configuration: Click on Finish to approve and start the User Synchronization Wizard. QuesCom Page 18/25

19 Chapter 3 - Configuration wizard User Synchronization wizard The user import or synchronisation at the end of the Configuration Wizard is optional and can be skipped. A new menu in QPortal > Users > User Synchronisation allows also configuring an import and a synchronisation. The first step of the user synchronization wizard consist in selecting the method: For import from CSV file select Import users from a file For synchronization with a LDAP server, select Establish users synchronization with LDAP directory Upload CSV file Click Browse button and select your CSV file. Then, To create in the QuesCom database users not already present but listed into the CSV file, click Add new users. To update information of users already created into the QuesCom database by information present into the CSV file click Update existing users To delete users into the QuesCom database those are not present into the CSV file, click Delete users not listed in CSV file. Confirmation On clicking Next, a Summary displays administrator settings. Back button can be used to modify these settings. The load starts when the Finish button is clicked. QuesCom Page 19/25

20 Chapter 3 - Configuration wizard LDAP synchronization If the LDAP synchronization method is selected, some mandatory parameters must be filled: Parameter Explanation IP address of Enter here the IP address of the LDAP server. LDAP server User name Administrator name that allows the connection to the LDAP server Password Administrator password Base Enter the base name (branch of the tree where user information is stored). Ex: To import users from LADP server named LDAP.quescom.com, use CN=Users,DC=LDAP,DC=quescom,DC=com Filter Enter a filter sentence here to retrieve only a set of users. Ex: If users are member of a group named GW users the filter shoulf be: (memberof=cn=gw Users,CN=Users,DC=quescom,DC=com) Confirmation On clicking Next, a Summary displays administrator settings. Back button can be used to modify these settings. The synchronization starts when the Finish button is clicked. QuesCom Page 20/25

21 Chapter 3 - Configuration wizard Access to QPortal Once the settings are approved, you will be disconnected from the QPortal session and automatically reconnected to a new session. At the next login (administrator/quescom) the configuration is set. Follow steps described in the document QGWDG-FAX - QuesCom FAX Solution for enterprise, Deployment Guide, in the section 5, Define users and Caller IDs. Reinstall and reconfiguration To reinstall the QuesCom Gateway with the Installation Wizard, on the QPortal web administration interface, click QuesCom > Wizards > Installation (See snapshot below). Warning! All installation settings will be lost! Reinstallation Reconfiguration To reconfigure the QuesCom Gateway with the Configuration Wizard, on the QPortal Administration web interface, click QuesCom > Wizards > Configuration (See snapshot below).
