1 WebPACK/Design Suite For Use with VisualApplets Download and Installation Guide

2 Procedure For using the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite 1 Full License, you have to take the following steps (which are described below in detail): 1. Download the software from the Xilinx web page. 2. Install the software. 3. Vivado Design Suite only (not applicable for WebPACK): Generate the license using the license voucher you received from Silicon Software. 4. Vivado Design Suite only (not applicable for WebPACK): Load the license into your installation. 5. Configure VisualApplets for using the Xilinx tools during build processes. Download To download the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite 1 : 1. Go to the Xilinx website 2. 3 3. On the next page, select tab Vivado and here version Select the installer you want to download, preferably the smallest one (e.g., Windows Self Extractiong Web Installer), and click on it. 5. Enter your User ID and Password, if you already have a Xilinx account. Otherways, create a Xilinx account first (click on the Create Account link on the same page). 3 Xilinx Vivado Download & Installation

4 Forgotten User Name and Password If you forgot user name and/or password: Just click on Create New Password and enter your address. You are instantly provided with your username and have the possibility to create a new password. Solving Download Problems If you encounter problems during download, try another browser or higher browser version, or visit the following Xilinx webpage: 6. In the following window, confirm your details by clicking Next. 7. Confirm that you want to download the file. Now, the download starts. 4 Xilinx Vivado Download & Installation

5 Installation 1. Close all open programs before you start the installation. 2. Start the installation by double-clicking on the Xilinx_Vivado executable file you have downloaded: Important Make sure you install the Xilinx tools in a directory structure that does not contain any spaces in directory names, e.g., directly under C:\Xilinx, but not under C:\Program_Files\Xilinx. 5 Xilinx Vivado Download & Installation

6 3. Follow the installer instructions until you get to this screen, and select Continue. 4. Klick Next. 5. Enter username and password of your Xilinx account (see section Download for details on the Xilinx account). 6 Xilinx Vivado Download & Installation

7 6. Select Download and Install Now. 7. Klick Next. 8. In the window that follows, read carefully. If you agree, confirm by checking the check boxes. 9. Klick Next. 7 Xilinx Vivado Download & Installation

8 10. Select either Vivado HL WebPACK (free) or Vivado HL Design Edition. 11. Klick Next. 12. In the following window, de-select Install Cable Drivers. 8 Xilinx Vivado Download & Installation

9 13. Klick Next and follow the installer instructions. 14. Confirm the Display of choosen installation options and start the actual installation. After successful installation, you get the following information: 9 Xilinx Vivado Download & Installation

10 Vivado Design Suite only (not applicable for WebPACK): The Vivado License Manager opens: 15. Vivado Design Suite only (not applicable for WebPACK): For building and loading the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite license, follow the instructions provided by Xilinx. If you have been provided by Silicon Software with a License Voucher for the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite, use the data on your License Voucher for doing so. 16. Configure VisualApplets for using Xilinx tools, see Instructions for Build Settings in the VisualApplets manual. Configuring VisualApplets for Use of Xilinx tools Before you can use the Xilinx tools together with VisualApplets, you have to configure VisualApplets accordingly, see Instructions for Build Settings in the VisualApplets manual. 10 Xilinx Vivado Download & Installation
