1 References between Mapping Programs in SAP-XI/PI as of Release 7.0 and 7.1 Applies to: This article talks about how different mapping programs can cross refer other archives, this is applicable to SAP-XI/PI versions 7.0 or 7.1. For more information, visit the SOA Management homepage. Summary Mapping programs can cross refer and use each other; that they are in the same software component version or underlying software component version. For example message mapping program can call a method of other java class in its user defined function. A java mapping can call a method of another Java class.xslt mapping can import another xslt or can call java methods. Author: Prasad Babu Nemalikanti Company: Mahindra Satyam Created on: 20 April 2011 Author Bio Prasad Babu Nemalikanti, SAP-XI/PI certified consultant has more than 7 years of SAP experience including,sap-xi/pi,sap-mdm, BIW and has good knowledge in ABAP, ALE and Java (certified).currently working as Project Lead in Mahindra Satyam prior to this associated with Fujitsu Consulting India Pvt Ltd SAP AG 1

3 Introduction As mentioned in help.sap.com mapping programs can refer other mappings (imported archives: Java, xslt).they should be in the same software component versions or dependent software component versions. This is an effort to share my hands on experience and bring all in one place for the quick reference. Click here for more information. (help.sap.com) User defined function of message mapping can use (cross reference) other Java class of an archive. Java mapping can use (cross reference) other Java class of an archive. XSLT mapping can use (cross reference) other java class of an archive. XSLT mapping can use (cross reference) other xslt mapping with help of import. Note: 1.Same message types (Source, target) are used in all mapping programs in entire application. 2. All archives and mapping programs are placed in the same software component. 3.Used StreamTransforamtion API Description of the Example: Simple example is taken for demonstration of mapping program references. In target message type there is a field called Grade which will be calculated based on average of marks of source message type. There is archive java class and XSLT archive to calculate the Grade. So the agenda here is to trigger the Grade method (of Java archive) from Message mapping and Java Mapping and XSLT mapping, triggering archive xslt from main xslt mapping program. 5 1. User defined function of message mapping can use (cross reference) other Java class of an archive. A message mapping can call other java class which is archived in the same software component or underlying software component, through user defined function. Steps: a) Create and import java class which should be called in message mapping (Import archive). b) Create UDF in message mapping and call java method. Import archive (Java Class) UDF and Java Code Java archive (class) which is referred by udf in message mapping package prasad.map; /** Prasad Babu Nemalikanti * Created on Apr 11, 2011 * Company:Mahindra Satyam */ public class XSLTTesting public static String grade (String a, String b,string c) int e = Integer.parseInt(a); int f = Integer.parseInt(b); int g = Integer.parseInt(c); float average = (e+f+g)/3; if(average>=90) return "Grade A"; else if(average>=80) return "Grade B"; else if(average>=70) return "Grade C"; else if(average>=60) return "First Class"; else if(average>=50) return "Pass"; else return "fail"; 2011 SAP AG 5

7 Testing of message mapping with UDF 2. Java mapping can use (cross reference) other Java class of an archive. Java mapping can refer (call) other java mapping or other archived java class of the same software component or underlying software component. So here to calculate grade, java mapping calls other java method grade (java class XSLTTesting ) Steps: a) Creating java class which calculates grade,and deploy that into xi(import archive) (class Name XSLTTesting ) b) Creating java mapping that calls the other java class or other java mapping,deploy java mapping into xi(import archive).class Name; MaprefJavamapping Java Code Java class that calculates grade, this class is called in Java mapping package prasad.map; Prasad Babu Nemalikanti * Created on Apr 11, 2011 * Company:Mahindra Satyam */ public class XSLTTesting public static String grade(string a,string b,string c) int e = Integer.parseInt(a); int f = Integer.parseInt(b); int g = Integer.parseInt(c); float average = (e+f+g)/3; if(average>=90) return "Grade A"; else if(average>=80) return "Grade B"; else if(average>=70) return "Grade C"; else if(average>=60) return "First Class"; 2011 SAP AG 7
8 else if(average>=50) return "Pass"; else return "fail"; Java Mapping that calls above mentioned java method:- package nemali.javamap; /** Prasad Babu Nemalikanti * Created on Apr 18, 2011 * Company : Mahindra Satyam */ import prasad.map.*; import java.io.inputstream; import java.io.outputstream; import java.io.fileinputstream; import java.io.file; import java.io.fileoutputstream; import javax.xml.parsers.documentbuilder; import javax.xml.parsers.documentbuilderfactory; import org.w3c.dom.document; import org.w3c.dom.node; import org.w3c.dom.nodelist; import java.util.*; import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.streamtransformation; public class MaprefJavamapping implements StreamTransformation private Map par; String result=null; int flag=0; String mt=null; String ph=null; String ln=null; public void setparameter(map param) par = param; if(par==null) par=new HashMap(); public void execute(inputstream in,outputstream out) result="<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?>"; result=result.concat("<mt_studentdetails>"); //result=result.concat("<students>"); try DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newdocumentbuilder(); Document doc = builder.parse(in); traversingxml(doc); //result=result.concat("</students>"); 2011 SAP AG 8

12 3. XSLT mapping can use (cross reference) other java class of an archive XSLT mapping can call a java method of other java class which is archived in the same software component. In the given example xslt program calls grade method to find the grade of a students as providing their marks as input to the method. Steps: a) Create java class and import into XI (import archive). b) Create xslt mapping program to trigger java method and import into xi(import archive) Xslt and Java class (archive) //Java class which can be called from xslt mapping program: package prasad.map public class XSLTTesting public static String grade(string a,string b,string c) int e = Integer.parseInt(a); int f = Integer.parseInt(b); int g = Integer.parseInt(c); float average = (e+f+g)/3; if(average>=90) return "Grade A"; else if(average>=80) return "Grade B"; else if(average>=70) return "Grade C"; else if(average>=60) return "First Class"; else if(average>=50) return "Pass"; else return "fail"; 2011 SAP AG 12

15 4. XSLT mapping can use (cross reference) other xslt mapping with help of import. Description: It talks about how to call one xslt program into another xslt program. In this example there are two xslt mappings. Steps: 1) xslt_to_xslt_called.xsl which implements complete mapping and it is triggered by main xslt mapping. 2) xslt_to_xslt_main.xsl which just calls the first xsl program. a) Create xslt mapping (xslt_to_xslt_called.xsl) which should be called from main xslt mapping and deploy it into xi (import archive). b) Create main xslt mapping (xslt_to_xslt_main.xsl) to trigger other xslt and deploy into xi (import archive) XSL Codes //XSL code which is called in main xsl mapping (xslt_to_xslt_called.xsl) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> Arpil > Mahindra Satyam--> Prasad Babu Nemalikanti--> <xsl:stylesheet version="2.0" xmlns:xsl=" <xsl:template match="/"> <MT_StudentDetails> <Students> <xsl:for-each select="mt_students/students/records"> <Rows> <xsl:element name="studentid"> <xsl:value-of select="studentid"/> <xsl:element name="studentname"> <xsl:value-of select="concat(firstname,lastname)"/> <xsl:element name="doj"> <xsl:value-of select="doj"/> <Marks> <xsl:variable name="mathmatics"> <xsl:value-of select="subjects/maths"/> </xsl:variable> <xsl:element name="maths"> <xsl:value-of select="subjects/maths"/> <xsl:variable name="sceince"> <xsl:value-of select="subjects/sceince"/> </xsl:variable> <xsl:element name="physics"> <xsl:value-of select="subjects/sceince"/> <xsl:variable name="language"> <xsl:value-of select="subjects/language"/> </xsl:variable> <xsl:element name="english"> <xsl:value-of select="subjects/language"/> <xsl:variable name="total"> <xsl:value-of select="number($mathmatics)+number($sceince)+number($language)"/> </xsl:variable> <xsl:if test="$total>=270"> 2011 SAP AG 15
