1 Qlik Web Connectors June 2018 Release (2.44) Release Notes Qlik Web Connectors June 2018 Release (2.44) Overview Some highlights in this release include: 2 Connectors have been moved out of beta Amazon S3 is a Standard Connector, and O365 Sharepoint is a Premium Connector There are no new beta connectors Google BigQuery and MongoDB Connectors have been moved to a deprecated state, because there is an integrated ODBC equivalent connector, which are now the recommended methods POSSIBLE BREAKING CHANGE: A change in the Qlik platforms, means that if the Qlik Web Connectors is installed on the same server as Qlik, then the port can only be the default setting of In this release there have been many fixes to the connectors, which may include BREAKING CHANGES and, as such, please pay particular attention to any connectors which you may use in the Change Log section below. This release will expire for users of only Standard connectors on 31st March 2019 o While users have at least 1 valid Premium connector subscription after this date, they can continue to use the Standard connectors. The previous release (November 2017 Release (2.28.2)) will expire for non-premium connector users on 30th November Simply upgrade to this version to continue to use the connectors. The beta connectors in this release will expire for all users on 31st March Existing QVSource Customers should also refer to the previous Qlik Web Connectors Release Notes version 2.0.0, (available from the Qlik Download site) for important information about upgrading to the Qlik Web Connectors and the differences. 2 Port Restrictions with Localhost Due to a recent change in the Qlik platforms, when the Qlik Web Connectors is installed on the same server as QlikView or Qlik Sense, you can only use the default port, which is If you have a strong reason not to use port 5555, then please contact Qlik support. New Generally Available Connectors In the Qlik Web Connectors June 2018 Release (2.44), the following beta connectors were made generally available: Qlik Amazon S3 Connector as a Standard Connector Qlik O365 Sharepoint Connector as a Premium Connector In order to continue to use the O365 Sharepoint Connector a subscription will be required. Please contact your local partner or Qlik office for more information. No New Beta Connectors No New Beta Connectors In Qlik Web Connectors June 2018 Release (2.44) no new beta connectors were added. How to Access Them In the Qlik Web Connectors June 2018 Release (2.44) you ll see them listed under the Beta tab. However, to interact and use them, you first need to accept some additional terms. Once you do this, you ll be able to work with them. As a LEF is not required, all users (including those that only use Standard connectors) can use them. They Expire! Please note that the beta connectors will expire for ALL users, including those that have subscribed to any Premium connectors, on the 31st March When the beta connectors expire, any Premium connectors will continue to work until their licensed expiry date and will not be affected by the beta expiry date. 3 To continue to use the beta connectors, just download the latest version of Qlik Web Connectors at the time and they ll work again until the next expiry date. As such, if your organisation has policies in place for updating software, please ensure that these are satisfied ahead of using the beta connectors. 4 Deprecated Connectors When upgrading connectors to the latest APIs unfortunately, the changes can be so extensive that we re unable to modify the existing connector. When this happens we ll create a new version of the connector and put the existing one into a Deprecated state. This means that at some point in the future it will no longer be available and from entering the deprecated status, it will no longer be updated. The date is normally determined by the underlying API which will often have it s own expiry date, after which the connector using it, will no longer work. You can see connectors affected under the Deprecated tab in Qlik Web Connectors. Qlik Google BigQuery Connector This connector has been placed into a deprecated state because there is an equivalent ODBC connector integrated into the Qlik platforms, which will be the preferred connector method moving forward. As such, we recommend that you start to migrate away from this connector. Qlik MongoDB Connector This connector has been placed into a deprecated state because there will be an equivalent ODBC connector integrated into the Qlik platforms, which will be the preferred connector method moving forward. As such, we recommend that you start to migrate away from this connector. Qlik MailChimp Connector - REMOVED This connector was placed into a deprecated state in November 2017 Release (2.28.2) and has now been removed from the product. Qlik Alchemy Connector - REMOVED This connector was placed into a deprecated state in November 2017 Release (2.28.2) and has now been removed from the product. Qlik Saplo Connector - REMOVED This connector was placed into a deprecated state in November 2017 Release (2.28.2) and has now been removed from the product. Qlik Google Prediction Connector - REMOVED This connector was placed into a deprecated state in November 2017 Release (2.28.2) and has now been removed from the product. Qlik Blue Yonder Connector - REMOVED This connector was placed into a deprecated state in November 2017 Release (2.28.2) and has now been removed from the product. In addition fractional seconds may be shown e.g. a value previously shown as T16:10:26Z may be shown as T16:10:26.000Z. (15 Feb 2018) BREAKING CHANGE: Removed columns; Calendar - defaultreminders_minutes, defaultreminders_method. They have been combined into defaultreminders_method_minutes. (27 Nov 2017) BREAKING CHANGE: Comments table no longer contains self, author_self and updateauthor_self columns. This table now contains fixed columns and no longer errors if no comments are present for an issue (it returns a table with zero rows). (27 Nov 2017) BREAKING CHANGE: History table now contains slightly renamed columns. These columns are also now fixed (previously they were generated from the API response) - you should regenerate your script for this table. This table also no longer errors if there is no History for the item (now returns table with zero rows). MailChimp Connector (v2) Campaign ActivityReport table - due to an issue in the MailChimp API we have seen a slightly inconsistent number of rows returned for this table.
