It also includes the issues resolved and issues remaining in this release.

6 Maps API for JavaScript Release Notes 6 Known issues It s not possible to use multiple documents in IE9 (please refer to connect.microsoft.com/ie/feedback/details/668880) Information that route cannot be calculated sometimes is missing in IE7. In Firefox 6 you can spot errors connected to the tiles downloaded: show_bug.cgi?id= It is strongly suggested to use ovi_web UI with Internet Explorer 7 In Google Chrome 20 clicking on mailto links may cause errors ( chromium/issues/detail?id=133625) Changed functionality Added functionality The map now initializes asynchronously. This change breaks the backwards compatibility with previous API version. Please use the "displayready" event dispatched by a Display instance ONCE when it is ready for view modification. Please refer to the Developer's Guide ("Beyond the Basic Map Application"). The info bubbles component now supports setting background and text color. Please refer to the API reference (nokia.maps.map.component.infobubbles.options). Polylines can now be rendered with directional arrows. Please refer to the API reference (nokia.maps.map.polyline#arrows). Settings can now be supplied with "app_id" and "app_code" values instead of "appid" and "authenticationtoken" to align naming across the platform. The old parameters are still supported. An instance of Display can now be initialized with an initial bounding box which the display should show. Please refer to the API reference (nokia.maps.map.display.properties#viewbounds). The map.display now supports "default" animation parameter in addition to "none". Animation parameters can be passed to: nokia.maps.map.display#setcenter nokia.maps.map.display#setcam nokia.maps.map.display#setview nokia.maps.map.display#setzoomlevel nokia.maps.map.display#zoomto nokia.maps.map.display#settilt (reserved for future use) nokia.maps.map.display#setheading (reserved for future use)

7 Maps API for JavaScript Release Notes 7 When animating the map.display will emit "transitionstart" and "transitionend" events to signal the beginning and end of an animation. Please refer to the API reference (nokia.maps.map.display#transitionstart, nokia.maps.map.display#transitionend). The map.display now supports gestures on Internet Explorer 10 and Chrome on Android 4. Note: Internet Explorer 10 needs to be in IE10 mode (either by setting the appropriate X-UA- Compatible meta tag or using the HTML5 doc type). The map.display now supports fractional zoom levels. Two new provider types have been added to support image and canvas overlays: nokia.maps.map.provider.canvasprovider, nokia.maps.map.provider.bitmapprovider. Please refer to the API reference. A new control nokia.maps.map.keycontrol was added to allow for keyboard navigation on the map. Use the new nokia.maps.map.display#focus method to focus the map and send keyboard input to it. nokia.maps.util.cache is now publicly documented. TileProviders now support tile size other than 256x256px (tile sizes have to be base 2, i.e. 128, 256, 512). Images (like map tiles) are now loaded through an IFrame in Google Chrome in order to allow for cancelling image requests. Note: The API will add and IFrame to the DOM when it is executed in Chrome. The traffic map type is now a base map type (instead of an overlay) and features a nicer integration with the map imagery. Removed functionality Temporarily removed Canvas map renderer due to refactoring of map rendering core. This will impact performance on mobile devices. If you use the URL parameter "map=js-p2d-dom" or "map=js-p2d-canvas" to switch the map renderer to either DOM-rendering or Canvas-rendering mode, please remove this parameter. The map now always uses the DOM renderer. Bug fixes The positions of open info bubbles update more smoothly now when the map is panned or zoomed. The internal reference counting for adding and removing map components was corrected to avoid invalid exceptions from being thrown. Fixed an issue with opacities in the SvgPainter's drawimage function. The RouteResultSet now correctly evaluates the IPen properties provided in the constructor. Tooltips for UI components have been added The map renderer now respects min/max zoom levels defined on CanvasProvider and BitmapProvider

8 Maps API for JavaScript Release Notes 8 The map renderer now respects min/max zoom levels defined on ClusterProvider Changing the base map type on a Display instance does not clear the number of noise / cluster points of a ClusterProvider anymore Fixed memory leak when checking for geo-location support on Internet Explorer 9 (see also: Double-clicking with the right mouse button now correctly zooms out instead of showing the context menu. Back-end URLs are now generated correctly, without adding extraneous parameter separators. The Display class' initialization properties are now correctly documented. Please refer to the API reference (nokia.maps.map.display.properties). The context menu now shows the house number in the address header. Language detection is now part of the loader (fixes a number of issues with loading localization strings). Fixed an issue which would cause spatials to render incorrectly on the western hemisphere. The ContextMenu now closes correctly in IE7 and IE8 The ContextMenu now opens correctly on ios devices Transparent PNG tiles now work correctly on IE7 and IE8 Fixed CSS rules for H3 elements added to the InfoBubble Fixed and issue where multiple tile overlays would not load properly in IE7 Fixed an issue where marker images would not be scaled correctly Calculating routes via the context menu now cancel routing requests when a new route is requested. Fixed and issue where info bubbles would be shown before the position was updated. Fixed and issue where UI button states would not update properly on ios devices.
