2 Control Survey Report Eastern Connecticut Ground Control Quality & Blind Check Points For the Northeast LiDAR Project Task Order No.: G10PD02143 and G10PD01027 US Geological Survey 1400 Independence Road Rolla, Missouri James W. Sewall Company was contracted by Photo Science, Inc. to locate a total of 11 quality assurance check points for this project. These points were divided into the following point designations: 7 BP s and 4 WST s. These points were located on relatively flat terrain on surfaces that generally consisted of grass, gravel or bare earth. Field work was conducted by three staff surveyors from December 2010 to January 2011 with Topcon dual-frequency survey grade GPS receivers to locate the check points. Static sessions lasting a minimum of twenty minutes were conducted. A published control point was located during the course of the day to serve as a check. GPS session log sheets were filled out and photos taken of each point which accompany this report. The data was submitted to NGS using the OPUS-RS utility. A sample of the data was post processed in Trimble Geomatics Office against the nearest Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) to check the OPUS-RS results. The horizontal coordinates are Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) coordinate system Zone 19; units are in meters, and the datum is the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83). Vertical data is in the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) Geoid09.
