3 Device configuration In this module will be described all the different features and ways to configure the KIU application. KIU main screen The KIU main screen is organized as follows: 1. Upper Menu: desde donde se configura la aplicación 2. Central screen: desde donde se ingresan los comandos 3. Screen bottom: donde se visualizan datos del dispositivo Next will be detailed a way to configure and work on each one of the areas of the KIU main screen, Upper menu: In KIU System upper menu you may find all the following icons from left to right: Allows to reactivate the working area screen when it is deactivated. Allows to retrieve the last 30 performed commands. They can be also be retrieve using ALT and the up and down keys. By clicking over someone of the commands on the list it is going to be execute again on the screen. By clicking directly over the icon the last performed command will be execute. Interactive calendar. Interactive calculator. Activates the EASY-KIU graphic assistant. Activates the flight availability graphic assistant. Activates the PNR searching graphic assistant. Activates KIU SENSE, assistant for use the cryptic application assisted by a graphic mode. Versión 1.9 KIU August
4 Allows to see the functional keys already configured in the system. Shows the active working areas and if they are in Real (production) or Test mode. Allows to ses the screen general configuration and pressing the disk icon, allows to store that configuration with an identifying name. By pressing the disk the following screen is open where the selected name will be loaded: Allows to store lists help commands or others. Opens My PNRs option. This is a folder that allows to store and administrate PNRs or lists outside the working areas independently. My PNRs This product allows to manage and store passenger listings or PNRS in an independent way of the working areas and at an screen local level, which implicates that only remains registered in the screen where is used. From the working areas can be sent many listings as PNRs to the My PNRs screen. The way to perform it with a passenger list is the following: LD4420/31JUL-C The listing command is indicate and at the end of it C is place. The positive response is OK. Versión 1.9 KIU August
5 The same way can check in the folder that the list has been arrived correctly. It will be show like this: Once the list were stored and the folder with the correspondant PNRs is created can be managed by clicking with the mouse right button over the reservation code where the following options will appear: Synchronize Modify Remark Delete Remark Retrieve PNR See PNR Print PNR Move To Copy To Delete Item Create Folder Expand All Contract All All this options allows to administrate the sent PNRs. At the same time PNRs can be sent individually painting with the mouse, the reservation code and clicking with the right button the option Sen to My PNRs and the selected folder. The folders can be also manage. By clicking with the right button over the folder they can be manage as follows: Synchronize Folder Create Folder Rename Folder Clear Folder Delete Folder Expand All Contract All Modifiy comment At the bottom of the screen the following options can be found that allow to configure My PNRs product Versión 1.9 KIU August

7 Options to configure the working areas This functionallity allows to configure different client options. To enter to the configuration screen, must access to the device from: Main Edit View Tools Areas Help Main From this option the following functionallities may be done: New Area : opens a new working area. Up to 3 areas can be open. Close Area: closes the active working area. Export to : alloes to export the active working area information to a file. Exit: closes the application Edit From this option can: undo last changes, copy, cut, delete and select a whole text of the screen. View From this option the upper menu bars that wish to be view in the screen can be define: Tool Bar: icons bar Personal Configuration Bar: personalized configuration Multiple Help Windows: allows to open auxiliar Windows on screen. Areas Allows to define the way that the working areas wish to be visualized. Tools From this option can be done the following configuration functionalities: Reconnect Function Keys Printer Config Options Others Next will be detail the functionality contained in each one of them and the way to manage them. 8 Reconnect Allows to reconnect the system when it pass to disconnected status (lighter screen colour). Function Keys This option allows to predefine the functional keys. The system has 24 functional keys that can be configured selecting the SETUP option. By perform this action the system will display the following screen: Once in the screen the blanks are fill with the desired commands, then must press the Save File button. This function keys will remain stored in the device and each time were open this stored functional keys can be used or using the keyboard function keys. From this window can be also create personalized buttons with the functionallity that the user cose. Can add icons that the user wisshes to asociate to each button. Up to 3 buttons can be configured. 9 Printer Config This functionallity allows to configure the printers. When select this option the following screen wil be display: This screen contains 3 printer to configure: Local Printer 1. Local Printer 2. SITA Printer (only for airlines and to require) 3. Boarding Printer (only for airlines) From this option the printer where the tickets will be printed is configure and all the commands that are going to be sent to print from the KIU screen. Must select the printer debe seleccionar la impresora en donde se desea imprimir y se deben completar los campos; size, amount of copies, paper size, direction of the page y maximun columns for vertical. This option Works using the windows drivers except Print Printer Port were indicate. The Print in Printer Port option must only be select if is an impact printer type and is connected to the LPT1 port. Once the data is entered must click over the OK button in order to take the configuraron data. Versión 1.9 KIU August
10 Boarding Printer From this option can configure the printer where the boarfing passes will be printed during the check in process. For that must select the option Boarding Printer as follows: Must select the printer where wish to print the boarding passes and must complete the fields: size, amount of copies, paper size, direction of the page y maximun columns for vertical. If the printer is an impact printer must select the option Print in Printer Port and must be connected to the LPT1 port. Versión 1.9 KIU August
11 Options From this functionallity many visualization points of the system can be configured. The modified options must be store with the OK button or ignored with the Cancel button. The module has different tabs which are describe next: "General" tab This window has two buttons: Edit (that configures the areas options) and Application (that configure the program options). "Editor" Description: 1) Allow Command Help This option displays a help menú in which are the commands with the necessary parameters for its execution. The displayed menu shows the available commands having in mind the Duty with which the last user have enter. This help is only available after logged in, currently is only use for CRC & Schedule Change entries. Versión 1.9 KIU August
12 Example: 2) Allow KIU SENSE Allows to use the KIU SENSE assistant, which modifies the active PNR colour, allowing it to make interactive changes with this asssitant. 3) Show in screen and printer the commands with Ctrl+Enter This option allows that a command response that was executed with "Control + Enter" been sent to printer and displayed on the screen at the same time. Example: 4) Ask for file name when export with Alt+Enter This option allows to export a file, Esther to Excel or other type, modify its name in order to store them. Its execution shows a screen where is going to be place the file name. Example: The response is the link with the cosed name. Versión 1.9 KIU August
13 Example: DONE-FILEC:\DOCUMENTSANDSETTINGS\ADMINISTRATOR\MYDOCUMENTS\EXPORT.TXT 5) Clear area after each entry With this option, after each Enter, the system clears the screen displaying the command and the response from the line 1 of the current area. 6) Not to erase line to the right of the cursor when pressing Enter This option allows, when overwriting a command and press enter in the middle of it, that the cursor goes to the end of the line and not delete all that were previously griten from the cursor position to the right. 7) Initiate the EASY KIU automatically This option activates the EASY KIU graphic assistant each time that the device is initiating or open. 8) Show preview of the itinerary of passenger This option allows that, when execute the printing of the electronic ticket receipt, show a preview of it on the screen before sent it to printer. This option must not be selected if the printer don t admit the documents preview (impact printer). 9) Maximun amount of lines in screen This option establish the limit of lines that can have on each area. When this limit is exceded, the system will delete the screen and go back to the first line. On this example, if a command brings more than 1000 lines, the system will show it but when the next command were executed will clear the screen and will start over from the line 1. 10) Print itinerary in text mode This option allows to print the ticket receipt on a text format. 14 "Application" 1. Language This option allows to choose the default language of the system areas when they are created. 2. Hour Format This option allows to cose the default tour format of the system areas when they are created. 3. Key for Change This options allow to configure the "Change" key (ø, that is use to make items modifications) and "End of Item" (,that is use to make the multi entry). 4. Active Beep This option actives one sound each time that the system brings back an error. 5. Save personal configuration to exit / Personal Configuration Options This options indicate the different posibilities of load a system configuration when closing the application. The stored changes will be use the next time the system initiates. Versión 1.9 KIU August
15 "Fonts tab This screen allows to especify the fonts type and size that thes system will use to write commands and some answers (there are some answers that have a default format). Also, different colours and formats can be especified (B [bold]; I [italic]) for each one of the different answer types. The Default Values button (Use Default Values) restablish the system original options. "Screen Save tab This screen allows to activate or deactivate the systems creen saver. Versión 1.9 KIU August
16 "Communications" tab This screen allows to configure the IP adress/gateway at which the application will be connected. Can be add or quit according the criteria and the connection can be test before is set. Versión 1.9 KIU August
17 Central Screen In this section of the screen is where will be enter all the different commands to work in the system. The way to work in this screen is described on each one of the KIU modules. Screen Bottom Description: INS: indicates the writing mode (INS: insert or SOB: overwrite the text) The keyboard icon indciates that the screen is active. If it appears with an X means that is not available. In this case must check the conectivity or wait a few seconds because the system could be processing information. R: 1 C: 1 indicates the cursor position on the screen (line and column). EN: indicates the language in which the system will respond to the entered commands. The options can be EN (English) or ES (Spanish). In order to change from one language to another must make double click over the icon or, use the mouse right button. H24: indicates the format in which will be view the flight schedules when asking for availability. The options can be in a 24 hours format (H24) or in AM/PM (H12) format. To change from one format to another must make double click over the icon or, use the mouse right button. BUE00XX000: is the device/license installed in the PC. Versión 1.9 KIU August
