1 Back to the Top System Requirements It is recommended that you run ireport with JDK v1.6. Download and Install sun-jdk 1.6 using the below link Create an account and register for free. Then only you can download from this site. Select the java version (SU 6),a list of jdk files for the selected version will be displayed. Enable the option Accept License Agreement and Download the corresponding jdk file based on your system type. ireport Installation ireport is a powerful graphical design tool for report designers and power users to define reports for execution using the JasperReports engine.ireport can help you design reports to meet the most complex reporting demands. Windows Installation Download and Install ireport designer tool using the below link Right click on the ireport folder from Downloads and click on Run AS Administrator from the menu. Click on Next and Agree the terms and conditions to continue By default the path of destination folder will be there, or browse the path Click on Install and Finish to complete Shortcut for ireport will be created in the desktop. Double click on shortcut to open the ireport designer tool. Note: If it is not getting opened,set jdkhome in system path OR Go to programfiles > Jaspersoft > ireport > etc directory >open ireport.conf file; Edit the jdkhome; give the path of jdkfile and Save For further reference please go through Linux Installation Download and Install Jdk 1.6 Download and Install ireport designer tool using the below link System Requirements 1

2 Move the downloaded file to home from downloads Right click on the ireport folder and click on Extract here from the menu Open the extracted ireport folder -> Bin -> ireport Or Go to Terminal Enter the below commands cd ireport-5.6.0/bin/./ireport ireport tool get opened POSibolt ireport Configuration To Set Class Path Go to Tools -> Options From options screen Click on Class Path-> Add Jar Select the Adempiere.jarfile and set it as class path. Note : If POSibolt local Instance is installed in your machine; In windows ;Path is - c/pos/posibolt/lib/adempiere.jar POSibolt_Print_Format In Linux; Path is - **(User)/Adempiere/lib/Adempiere.jar Or you need to contact with Posibolt admin team to get latest adempiere.jar file Linux Installation 2

3 Select the check box of Adempiere.jar file path and click Ok To Set Class Path 3

4 Database Selection Click on Database icon in the ireport screen From the connections/data sources PopUp; Click on New Database Selection 4

5 Select database JDBC Connection Click on Next Database Selection 5

Give any name for your Database Make sure that JDBC Driver should be PostgreSQL In JDBC URL ; Change the database Name as which is in your local machine Enter the Username and Password Click on Test

7 Browse the jrxml report which you need to open and click OK Report design will get opened ireport Design 7

Open ireport designer tool by double click on the icon Open a new file by click on File -> New Select the template Blank Letter and click on Open this template Enter the name for the report Browse the location as reports folder in adempiere. Click next and finish to create a new report, which opens the designer window Now make a note of measurement total page height and width of pre-printed paper,of all field positions. In pre-printed paper, positions are marked in X,Y format;where X is the horizontal and Y is the vertical position. ireport Video 8

9 The measurements in pre-printed paper are in centimeters. In ireport measurements are taken in points. So that you need to convert all measurements in centimeters to points.for example: 1cm = points. 1. Set height and width of the page: In ireport designer window, first thing to do is Set the page height and width as in the pre-printed page For that click on Report Inspector to list the page name and all the bands in it. Click on Report name to show the properties panel,under page size, Enter the page height and width in the corresponding field. Set all margins as 0, to remove the borders. 2.Delete unnecessary bands: In ireport for pre-printed papers, mainly three bands are used;page header,detail band and Page footer. Delete all other unnecessary bands. Set height for all bands, as measurements are taken from the pre-printed page. 3. Enter the Query: Click on report query icon to Enter the query to fetch data Add parameters and Click on read fields and OK All fields will be listed under the fields in Report Inspector. 4. Drag and drop fields to the bands: Choose the field from report inspector and drag and drop it to the corresponding bands. Take the measurements of field position from the pre-printed paper and set the X position as left and Y position as Top in the properties panel of each fields separately.fields will be adjusted to the positions. 5.Add Variables: Name Serial numbers are taken from variables; Use the variable REPORT_COUNT for serial number Total line at amount is also a variable To create a new variable for Total line at amount Right click on Variable and select Add variable, a new variable is added to the list Click on new variable to open the properties panel Set values as below: Variable class Calculation : Enter the name for variable : Big Decimal : Sum Variable Expression : line at amount 6.Preview of the Report POSibolt_Print_Format Click on preview icon to see the preview of the report Enter the parameter values Preview has been displayed with given field values Go to designer window to make the alignment changes if needed ireport For Preprinted Paper 9
