1 NurseSim Help Files. Before you start Before starting NurseSim you will need to check your PC specifications. NurseSim needs a minimum of 4GB RAM (memory) and a Core i3, i5, i7 or A6/A8 processor. To check your system settings, click start, and go to settings. You can then search for About your PC. Clicking it will open a screen with information on your computer:

2 For the best experience, we recommend you access NurseSim via Google Chrome. Google Chrome is browser program that you can use to replace Internet Explorer. To download Google Chrome, click on the link below and follow the prompts: Download Google Chrome It is recommended to use Google Chrome and to ensure you have the latest update for Google Chrome. You can check this via the help menu:

3 How do I log in? You can access NurseSim by clicking on the following website: nursesim.com.au Select LOGIN in the top right corner. Select the USERNAME OR field and enter your username or applicable . Usually this will be your address. Once you have entered your username, select the PASSWORD field and enter your password. If you have forgotten your password, select Forgot?. Follow the How to change my password instructions below for more information on this. Now that you have entered your information, click LOG IN.

4 How do I download the application? To download the application, you must first log in. For instructions on how to log in, follow the How to log in instructions above. Once you have logged in. Click on the DOWNLOAD button at the top of the website. On the download page, you will find the latest updated version of the application as well as additional information. Click the Download button. The download will then begin. Once finished, click on the file and run it.

5 The download will then begin. Once finished, click on the file and run it. The NurseSim application will install to your main drive by default. It is recommended to keep this setting as it is. If you would like to change the drive, click on browse and select the install location. Click Next. In this section, you can choose the start menu folder the application will appear in, or alternatively, choose to not have it shown there at all. Click Next once you have selected your desired options or have left it as default.

6 Click the checkbox to create a desktop shortcut. This is recommended as it will make finding the application easier. Click Next to continue. On the next screen is a review of all the options. Click Install. The installation will show you a progress bar, once it is at 100% the next section will appear that looks like this:

7 Choose whether to launch NurseSim immediately with the Launch NurseSim checkbox and then click finish. Once installed. You can access NurseSim via the start menu (under the default location of Etrain interactive/nursesim) or from a shortcut (if you selected the option during the installation). The application can also be found using the search function in your start menu. Now that the application is installed, you do not need to download it and install it every time you need to complete a module.

8 How do I change my password? If you have forgotten your password and would like to access NurseSim. On the login page click Forgot?. You will then see a screen like below: Enter your username (which could also be your ) and click Get New Password. You will receive an within 5 minutes with instructions on how rest your password. Once you have followed the link in that , a password will be automatically generated for you.

9 You may choose to keep this password or enter one that is easier for you to remember. (NOTE: Try to keep the password strength as Strong to be properly secure. This may mean adding in numbers, capital letters and symbols) When you are happy with your new password, click Reset Password. On the next screen, it should let you know that your password has been reset. Click Log in to log in with your new password.

10 Courses It is recommended that you view the tutorial, which will orientate you to the capabilities and the kind of interactions you will be performing in NurseSim. It can be accessed from the support page here:

11 Once you are confident with the use of the Simulation, select START COURSE. Firstly, log in to the application. You can then access your Clinical Skills by selecting COURSES at the top of the page. You can filter the courses on the left-hand menu by selecting the category you need (e.g. Client Observations) and pressing Enter. You can also search for a specific course by using the Search option, typing the course you require, and then pressing Enter. To begin a lesson, select your course from the list provided, and click on the START COURSE button.

12 The simulations are presented using a SEE, TRY, and APPLY methodology. You can SEE the steps involved in the skill whilst the simulation is loading. After you have completed the SEE component of the course, you can repeat it as many times as necessary, or continue to the TRY section of the simulation. In this part of the sim you will be guided in each step and your underpinning knowledge will be challenged with a range of questions. You will gain a score for each step.

13 Many courses, but not all, will have a final APPLY stage. In this stage, your ability to remember and understand the steps will be assessed. The prompts, (onscreen instructions) and highlights in the sim are withdrawn and you will be required to remember each step within the skill. You will achieve a score. You can reattempt the simulation at any time to improve your score.

14 How do I view my results? To view or print your results; on the website, mouse over your profile in the top right of the page (for our example it is Mathew ) and click RESULTS. You can also navigate to your profile page, select MY COURSES and select RESULTS in the top menu. All current and completed courses will be displayed. If you navigate to the bottom of the page, there will be an option to DOWNLOAD RESULTS:

15 There are two additional options before creating a PDF file of your results. The first is Filter Output. You may use this filter to show ether All Courses, Active Courses and Finished Courses. The Sort Output dropdown can filter those results Alphabetically, by Start Date, Completion Date, or Grade. Select CREATE PDF once you have selected your desired options. The PDF will then open in your browser and from here you can print or save your results.
