1 What's New in DREAM DSP Designer V1.107(bet This document describes the most important new functionalities of DREAM DSP Designer version V1.107 (bet. The changes are mostly related to the 5 following sections: 1) New top bar functions 2) New Bus editor page handling 3) 3 new modules: FBCancel, LiveMic DualEcho and SpringReverb 4) New Multi-FX HQDistortion process 5) New DSP editor page functions such as presets save&load Please find more details in DREAMDSPDesignerSoftwareGuide.pdf, SamVS-C FX5000 Library.chm and change notes.txt files given in the software installation folder. 1. New top bar functions 1.1. 2 1.2. MIDI settings The MIDI settings are now accessible on the software top bar. Thus they can be controlled and updated on all software pages. The selected target is now saved so that refreshing is can easily be done after launching the firmware using SamVS-C just by pressing the [Refresh] button. Figure 2 New MIDI settings position 1.3. NRPN list The NRPN list can now be exported as.csv from the project menu in Generate NRPN list file. It includes MIDI parameters as well as MIDI <-> physical formulas. 3 1.4. Output directory The directory management has been improved for a better project handling. Relative path to the project file.ddp is supported Window management The software window and log window states (size and position) are saved and reloaded when opening the software again. Moreover, the log window is now resizable from the bottom right corner Generated files The SamVS-C project file.dcp is now generated from the log window. When launching SamVS-C first time with this freshly build.dcp file, just chose the target board you are using and compile. Please see some more description in the Dream DSP Designer Software Guide. 2. New Bus editor page handling To start double click on a DSP or go to the DSP editor page and add a module. Then the DSP and pins will appear on this page. For a new project, right click on the Bus editor page to add a new DSP. 4 3. New modules Here is the description of 3 new modules with miscellaneous dynamic processes. Please refer to the DREAMDSPDesignerSoftwareGuide.pdf documentation for further details. - FBCancel: integrates a premium quality feedback canceller based on FFT for fast feedback detection, and automatically controlled 12 Notch filter for feedback suppression. c) Figure 5 Feedback Canceller process from the FBCancel module. 5 4. Upgraded HQDistortion process The MultiFX module integrates a new 3-stage high (Q1) and lower (Q0) quality mode distortion process, called HQDistortion. It has mono and. The stage number is controller using the incrementing/decrementing button on the process. Only the bias, and brightness and volume are remaining static for all stage configurations. Moreover, 11 types of distortion are available. Biquad process updates Following are the improvements regarding the Biquad process: - Possibility to control the Biquad frequency by MIDI SysEx message at 28bit precision - New Crossover filters type ( Butterworth, Bessel, Linkwitz-Riley up to 8th order) - Slider values editable (same as for all processes) - New range +15/-24 db - Control panel scroll bar - Markers for a better control band number marker new amplitude range new filters editable text box scroll bar 5.2. Process options As shown in Figure 11a, a process contour is now becoming yellow when individually selected. You can use the CTRL key for multi-process selection. As shown in Figure 11b, the right click menu on a process allows to remove or copy, as well as renaming it. After saving a project, process control settings can be saved and loaded from this menu, which is further described in the next section. Finally, as shown in Figure11c, the right click menu besides a process allows copy or delete a selection of one or several processes with its connections. Select all allow to select all processes on the current DSP page, including all connectors. 7 5.4. Preset management Figure 12 Process right click menu and Preset naming window Once a project is saved it is possible to save also process control settings. For this, click on Create new from current settings. It will open a new window where the desired preset name can be entered. After pressing the create button, the preset will be saved into a.presets file located next to the project file. Afterwards, the preset will be available in the Load preset item as shown in Figure 13a. When a preset is loaded and the setting changed, there is still the option to resave the preset again. Moreover, Figure 13b shows how to remove a preset from the list. There is also the possibility to delete the preset list.
