1 LOCATION SPOOFING ON IOS WITHOUT A JAILBREAK Adidas Confirmed requires that the user is in the location before confirming a pair of shoes using the app. The app utilizes the phone s GPS to find the location. If a user is not within the right area, it won t allow you to cop the shoes. We re going to spoof our location using some free tools. Whether or not this will work during the actual release is yet to be known. The high-level overview is that we will create a small file that tells Xcode what our location is, feed it into Xcode, and then open Adidas Confirmed. Adidas Confirmed will then use that location as Xcode is telling it to. Necessary Tools Mac OS X (make sure your update to the latest) Xcode 8 Custom-built RSC app (download the entire.zip folder) GPX-POI (keep this open as we ll use it later on in the tutorial) Pre-Requisites 1. Xcode is downloaded, installed, and has been opened at least once before. This process can take up to an hour and a half so I recommend starting this first. Creating the fake location file We first need to create a small file that will tell Xcode your location. 1. Head to GPX-POI.com 2. Using the small Google Maps application on the left, keep zooming in until

you re hovering over the area that you need to be in for Confirmed 3. Click a spot on the map that you want, and then hit the Update button directly below that map view 4.

Select Download Launching the custom-built app Make sure you ve downloaded the custom-built RSC app from the top of this tutorial. We re going to open this app for the first time. 1. Find where you downloaded the custom app, and unzip the file 2. Launch Xcode

3 3. Select File > Open 4. Navigate to and open the RSC.xcodeproj file 5. Xcode should automatically launch the project file 6. Plug your iphone/ipad into your Mac now 7. Select RSC in the furthest left window Pane 8. Select RSC (with the skull next to it) under Targets in the next window pane over 9. Finally, in the third pane that appears, under Identity, change the Bundle Identifier to something unique (adding your name where it says should be good enough 1. Near the top left of Xcode there is a Play/Stop button, directly next to that is an area that says RSC (the name of the app) and then something like iphone 6 Plus (this may vary per Xcode installation)

4 1. Select whatever ios device is listed directly next to that Play/Stop button, and find your personal device in that list. It should be up at the top under Devices. In the screenshot below, BlackPearl is my personal iphone 6 that I ve selected.

1. Now hit the Play button that s next to the Stop button. 2. This will begin to initiate a few things, specifically asking you to sign into Xcode and the like.

If it says something like you have signing issues, hit whatever button sounds like it s going to fix it. I m vague here because I don t have a fresh system to attempt this on, and the verbiage changes across Xcode builds. Basically it s just going to want to install the necessary files on your device to get the app on your phone. 3. Once you ve gotten that all done, the app should launch on your phone. The app itself doesn t do anything. I ve literally just added a picture so people didn t think something was wrong with their phone. 4. Now that the app is loaded on your phone, we re ready to simulate a new location. Select the little GPS triangle icon at the bottom of the Xcode window and chose Add GPX File to Project 1. You re now going to point it back to that fake location file you made with GPX- PIO 2. If you see a screen like the following, make sure Copy items if needed is checked off, and then select Finish 3. Now click on the GPS triangle icon again and select your recently created location. The GPS triangle will now highlight blue indicating it is spoofing a location on your ios device, and if you were to click on it again you would see that it s selected the location you just chose.

6 1. Jump back onto your ios device and load the official Maps app, and press the GPS triangle icon at the bottom left to center in on your position. You should see the location from where you had selected to spoof yours. 2. Open Adidas Confirmed, and head to the map view. You ll know be in the spoofed location. I can t guaranteed any of this will work with the app on release day, so I recommend only doing this on an extra Adidas account that you wouldn t mind spoofing and potentially catching an L on. Troubleshooting Q. What if I don t see that little triangle for the GPS location you mentioned? A. Then you either haven t hit the Play/Pause button like the steps above indicated, or you unplugged your phone when you shouldn t have yet.
