User: you login name will also be provided to you. Password: your initial password will also be provided to you. Press <Enter> to login. You will be prompted to change your password after your first successful login to SAP. Please document the new password that you select. Note that you cannot use the same password. 8 Menu Bars and Toolbars SAP Menu Bar The SAP Menu Bar CHANGES from one screen to another and it is organized according to the task you are performing in the system. The menu bar is situated horizontally at the very top of the screen. The following menus are standard on every SAP screen: 1. Menu: contains functions, such as create session and user profile that affect the system in general. 2. Edit: allows you to edit components of the current object. SAP Standard Tool Bar General Icons and their description The SAP Standard Toolbar does NOT change from one transaction to another.

11 SAP Standard Tool Bar General Icons and their description The SAP Standard Toolbar does NOT change from one transaction to another. Transaction codes are alphanumeric codes assigned to every application in the SAP system. You first need to know the transaction code of the desired application in order to navigate to it. If you are already in another transaction, you must enter a parameter in addition to the transaction code. 14 SAP Easy Access Menu The SAP Easy Access Menu includes all transactions provided by SAP, grouped in folders according to SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, etc.). It is not tailored to the user s specific needs. You can customize the SAP Easy Access menu to your specific needs and set whether transaction codes are shown in the menu tree or in the favourites. To make these modifications: Select Extras Settings in the menu bar. The Settings window is now open. In this window, activate the Display Technical Names checkbox to map the transaction codes in the tree structure of the SAP Easy Access menu. 15 SAP Application Toolbar The Application Toolbar is located directly below the screen title. It contains buttons that duplicate functions available from the menu bar but provide quicker access to some of the most commonly used functions for the current screen and system task. The icons which are also displayed above are: Create Change Copy Delimit Display Below is a further list of the common application toolbar buttons: The SAP Application Toolbar CHANGES from one screen to another. For instance, the Execute button is often available in the first position of the Application Toolbar. To display the button name and keyboard shortcut, place the cursor over the button. Keyboard shortcuts are not displayed on the Macintosh, but are the same as those on the PC. Keyboard shortcuts may be different depending on the SAP function you are using. SAP Status Bar The SAP Status Bar does NOT change from one screen to another. It tells you where you are in the system: Which environment you are using (Production, Development, QA).

18 Function Keys and Help SAP Function Keys Functions keys are just another way of navigating around SAP. The availability of function keys CHANGES from one screen to another While in a transaction, right click with your mouse to view a list of function keys available. Click F1 to automatically transfer to the SAP Library. When you are filling-in data, you can click in the specific field you want help on and press F1. User Settings SU01 Using transaction code administrator can lock/ unlock users, specifying user type (Dialog, Communications etc), deactivation of passwords etc.
