1 Configuration with IIS 7.0 IIS Tomcat Configuration with SamePage Environment Details: IIS etouch SamePage Tomcat Windows 2008 Server 32 bit This document describes the IIS Web Server configuration for SamePage. Make sure that SamePage is running in Tomcat and you can test the SamePage installation by pointing your server's browser at port>/cm/newui/wiki/index.jsp. Also ensure that you can see the SamePage Login screen page. Tomcat Configuration 1) To enable AJP connector, an entry should exist in 'server.xml'. From SamePage release 4.0 onwards, Tomcat 5.5.x is used. Confirm if the following entry is present in INSTALL_DIR>/tomcat/conf/server.xml. <SAMEPAGE <Connector port="18009" maxthreads="200" minsparethreads="25" maxsparethreads="75" enablelookups="false" redirectport="8443" connectiontimeout="20000" protocol="ajp/1.3" /> 2) We need to configure the JK 1.2 Connector which will allow IIS to effectively act as a proxy and forward requests to Tomcat. Start by creating a folder called 'ISAPI' under the Tomcat root folder <SAMEPAGE INSTALL_DIR/tomcat>. Download the following 2 files and copy them to <SAMEPAGE INSTALL_DIR>\tomcat\ISAPI : i) isapi_redirect dll (downloaded from ) Note: After downloading the isapi_redirect-1.2.x.dll file, rename it as isapi_redirect.dll. ii) isapi_redirect.properties (Attached to this page) Note :After downloading the isapi_redirect.properties, open it in a text editor and update the <SAMEPAGE INSTALL_DIR> for 3) Download the following 2 files and copy them to <SAMEPAGE INSTALL_DIR>\tomcat\conf : i) workers.properties (Attached to this page) ii) uriworkermap.properties (Attached to this page) Page 1 of 17

2 IIS 7 Configuration Make sure that the IIS is running on the system by connecting to or to any default html present under Inetpub\wwwroot. If you are unable to see the default html page (iisstart.htm or default html), please do following steps: Right click on Default Web site and select Explore. "iisstart.htm" file should be present under the "wwwroot" folder. If not, create a simple html and access it through the browser. 4) Click Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Information Services and open IIS configuration console. From the IIS console, navigate to the Default Web site node as shown below. Page 2 of 17

3 5) Click on the Add Virtual Directory and in the Alias text field, enter 'tomcat'. For setting Physical path, browse and select <SAMEPAGE_INSTALL_DIR>\tomcat\ISAPI. Click OK 6) Now you will need to configure the virtual directory to have execute permission. Click on the 'tomcat' virtual directory and then double-click Handler Mappings. Page 3 of 17

4 7) In the Handler Mappings screen, click Add Module Mapping in the Actions Pane. Page 4 of 17

5 8) In the Add Module Mapping screen, enter the values as shown below and then click OK. Page 5 of 17

6 In the confirmation dialog, click on Yes button. In the Handler Mappings screen, click Edit Feature Permissions in the Actions Pane. Check Execute check box in the ' Edit Feature Permissions' dialog box and click OK. Page 6 of 17

7 In the Handler Mappings screen, you can now see 'ISAPI-dll' enabled in the list. Page 7 of 17

8 9) Now you will need to add an ISAPI filter on the Default Web Site. To do this, click on the Default Web Site and then double-click on ISAPI Filters. Page 8 of 17

9 In the Actions pane, click Add. Page 9 of 17

10 In the Add ISAPI Filter dialog box, enter 'tomcat' in Filter name text field and the path to the isapi_redirect.dll file in Executable text field. Click OK. Page 10 of 17

11 The 'tomcat' ISAPI filter should now appear in the ISAPI Filters list. Page 11 of 17

12 10) Now you will need to configure the ISAPI and CGI Restrictions feature in IIS 7.0. In IIS Manager, navigate to the Server Home and then double-click on the ISAPI and CGI Restrictions. Page 12 of 17

13 11) In the ISAPI and CGI Restrictions, click Add on the Actions pane. Page 13 of 17

14 12) In the Add ISAPI and CGI Restriction dialog box, enter 'tomcat' in the Description text field and the path to the isapi_redirect.dll file in ISAPI or CGI path text field. Click Allow extension path to execute check box and click OK. Page 14 of 17

15 13) The ISAPI extension should now appear in the list with a status as 'tomcat' ISAPI and CGI Restrictions Restriction Allowed. Page 15 of 17

16 14) Restart the IIS Server. 15) Start the SamePage server and Login with system user. 16) Select System Administration -> System Parameters. Search for the parameter ' net.etouch.cm.cluster.administrationserver.port' and change the value to 80. Open the browser and enter name>/cm/newui/wiki/index.jsp in the web address and you should see the SamePage Login screen page. Troubleshooting is possible with the help of < SAMEPAGE INSTALL_DIR>\ tomcat\logs\jk_iis.log log file. Page 16 of 17
