Managers Tasks-Failover Manager Prerequisites for using the Failover Manager Prerequisites Before you install and configure a Failover Manager, you must complete the following tasks. 1. Plan the network configuration. Design and configure the switches and network adapters. Identify the Windows server or vcenter server upon which to install Failover Manager files. Designate a host name and IP address. Create an iscsi network for the virtual machine. The Failover Manager must be on the iscsi network. If you do not have an existing virtual machine network configured on the iscsi network/ vswitch, create a new virtual machine network for the Failover Manager. 2. Designate a static IP address, or a reserved IP address if you are using DHCP. Exporting volumes and snapshots to a server cluster 13

14 3. Configure a network of a minimum 100 Mbps with 50 ms latency. A faster configuration is better, such as 1,000 Mbps or 10,000 Mbps. 4. Configure a server and volume on which to install the Failover Manager. It must be a server and volume that are not on the HPE StoreVirtual Storage network. 5. Designate 15 GB available drive space to install the Failover Manager. 6. Reserve at least 2 GB of memory for the Failover Manager. Prerequisites for using the Failover Manager for Hyper-V 1.
