4 About this document The purpose of Recair Smart Air Designer MagiCAD plugin is to export air handling unit selected with RecAir Smart Air Designer. After adding the unit into MagiCAD drawing, its sound generation data can updated and unit data can be viewed.

5 Installing the software Required third-party software The latest MagiCAD plugin for Recair Smart Air Designer works at least with the following MagiCAD versions MagiCAD and AutoCAD MagiCAD or newer and AutoCAD Installation Administrator privileges are needed for installation. 32-bit The 32-bit MagiCAD plugin will be installed along Recair Smart Air Designer software. Software can be downloaded from =Recair&productClass=Plugin 64-bit The 64-bit MagiCAD plugin requires installing both Recair Smart Air Designer and Recair Smart Air Designer MagiCAD Plugin. Both can be downloaded from r=recair&productclass=plugin Note if you have several AutoCAD versions on your workstation: Before you run the installation program, start MagiCAD to make sure that Recair Smart Air Designer MagiCAD plugin installs on the same AutoCAD platform as MagiCAD. 3

6 Starting the program Before you start using Recair Smart Air Designer MagiCAD plugin, start MagiCAD and open a Ventilation project. Run CUILOAD or MENULOAD in AutoCAD, and browse the customization file from the directory where you installed the program (by default, the directory is C:\Program Files\Recair\Recair Smart Air Designer). When you first time start using Recair Smart Air Designer MagiCAD plugin, you need to load the customization file (RecairSMagi.cuix) manually When you click Load, Recair Smart Air Designer MagiCAD plugin toolbar appears on the desktop. and ribbon Next time you use AutoCAD, the customization file is automatically loaded.

7 Note, that AutoCAD creates always automatically.cuix-file if.cui-file is loaded. AutoCAD created.cuix-file will load toolbar normally, but ribbon is not created. If you have loaded RecairSMagi.cui-file and you want to use ribbon, then you have to remove and install again program/plugin and load RecairSMagi.cuix-file. Insert AHU 1. Make sure that you have MagiCAD Ventilation project open 2. Press button Insert AHU 3. Recair Smart Air Designer software starts and appropriate AHU should be selected by making a new or opening existing project. 4. Button Export to MagiCAD is enabled in toolbar after unit is successfully calculated and by pressing it user can start exporting AHU into MagiCAD drawing. 5. In Export to MagiCAD dialog user can give AutoCAD level data 6. Recair Smart Air Designer asks to save project file. It s recommended because Update AHU data functionality needs Recair Smart Air Designer project file. 7. User points out the place where unit should be installed on the drawing. 5

8 8. In Unit s information -dialog user should select MagiCAD system to each duct connection. If only one system is available for connection type it will be selected as a default. 9. If exported unit includes ductwork or duct components, user should point out their installation places one by one. 10. Product is now exported to MagiCAD including geometry, duct connections, product code and sound generation data for each system and user can continue working with MagiCAD e.g. connecting it to duct systems.

9 Update AHU data 1. Calculate system/systems which are connected to unit. 2. Press button Update AHU data and select unit you want to update 3. In Open Recair Smart project and select unit to export dialog user should select the project and unit to be updated 4. Selected unit will be opened with Recair Smart Air Designer software and flow and pressure drop values from MagiCAD will be exported there. 5. Button Export to MagiCAD is enabled in toolbar after unit is successfully calculated and by pressing it user can start exporting AHU into MagiCAD 6. In Export to MagiCAD dialog user shall give level data as in adding new unit. User must also select between two different update possibilities: a. Export to MagiCAD and replace unit Unit will be removed from the drawing and new unit will be added as in Insert AHU. If existing unit includes duct components user shall first remove those. b. Export to MagiCAD and update unit The sound generation data of existing unit will be replaced with new data. All other data remains the same. 7

10 View AHU data 1. Press button Update AHU data and select unit which data you want to see. 2. Unit s information dialog will be displayed viewing the data that unit is exported with.
