6 An Introduction to Illumineye DS Suite Welcome to Illumineye DS Suite, a digital signage product that helps you organize and display the content of your campaign. This User Guide is the first step to the Illumineye DS Suite software understanding and implementation process. We believe that the guide will make your journey from installation to playing your digital signage a comfortable and happy experience. The Illumineye DS Suite consists of three main components Illumineye Creator, Illumineye DS Manager and Illumineye Player. The Illumineye Creator is a windows-based playlist designer that provides you the latest designing tools, designing components and designing properties. The Creator has been developed to provide an extremely user-friendly interface. The Illumineye DS Manager is a web-based management tool that can manage and schedule your digital signage playlist, without complexity. The Illumineye Player allows you to play the digital signage content to your schedule. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 6 of 161

7 Pre-requisites Pre-requisites for Illumineye DS Creator Hardware o Processor: Core i3, i5 or above. o RAM: 8GB or above. o HDD: 80GB or above. Operating System o o Windows Server 2012 or Windows 7 or later. 34 bit or 64 bit OS support only. Pre-requisites for Illumineye DS Manager The installation requires full Administrator user login (local/domain) on the host/server operating system to install the DS Manager application, modules and other components needed. IIS 7.5 or later with following server components included. o IIS Management Console, IIS Management Scripts and Tools. o IIS Management Service, Default Document, Directory Browsing, Static Content, HTTP errors. o Static content compression and Request filtering. o FTP Server o If IIS 8.0 is required, include the optional ASP.net 4.5 component as well. Microsoft.NET Framework 4.5 full version (For Windows 2008 R2) is required to be installed. o Downloadable from Microsoft SQL 2008 and above including express editions. o Downloadable from o In addition to although not required we recommend adding the SQL Management tool, should the SQL database require managing; Downloadable from Ports and Service requirements: For assistance on Port and service requirements please refer to the section below. 8 Port and Service Requirements In order for Illumineye DS Manager to communicate from the server to endpoint and from the endpoint back to the server, various ports are required to be opened on your firewall. During the installation of Illumineye DS Manager these exceptions are added to the software firewall, but any ports may need to be open on the switch/vlans to allow full uninterrupted communication. 9 Installation Installing the Illumineye Creator Double click and run the Illumineye Creator Setup. Illumineye Creator Setup Wizard is displayed. Click Next. Review the license terms. Click on I accept the terms in the License Agreement. Click Install. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 9 of 161

10 Illumineye Creator is installed. Upon successful installation of Illumineye Creator, the message will appear Illumineye Creator has been successfully installed. Click Close. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 10 of 161

11 Installing the Illumineye DS Manager Please follow the steps below to install the Illumineye DS Manager. 1. Copy the Setup file onto the hard drive of the server. 2. Run the Setup file. 3. Select Setup Type as Complete and proceed with the Installation. 4. After selection, setup checks for the application requirements. If the setup finds compatibility with the device, it will continue, otherwise it will terminate. Should the Setup terminate, please re-check the pre-requisites have been met and run the Setup again. 12 5. Enter required information of SQL server. Connection to configure SQL Database SQL Server connection is established. Screen is displayed. The web server Host Name and port configuration are displayed. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 12 of 161

13 After SQL Server connection is established, a screen with Communication Details and current configuration is displayed. If the server is part of a domain infrastructure, user will need to specify the name using the following Syntax: Hostname. Full domain name. In case a default website is already running on the selected port, a dialog will appear as displayed and ask, if you wish to stop the site using the port in question. During the installation process the installer will display the installation progression. However, if user will confront a problem, it will report and stop. On successful completion of installation process, the installer will display final status Finish. Click Finish. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 13 of 161

15 Configuration Configuring the Illumineye Creator 1. Open the Illumineye Creator that you have installed. 2. Click on the Settings icon once the login screen is displayed. 3. The General Settings window is displayed as shown below. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 15 of 161

16 4. In the Local Media Path enter content library path or click on Browse to select the desired folder. Note: Local Media Path folder should have all user permissions. 5. In the Remote Media Path field, there are two options available in dropdown box; a. Choose the None option, if you have configured Illumineye DS Manager and Illumineye Creator on the same machine. b. Choose the FTP or FTPS option as per need, if you have configured the Illumineye DS Manager and Illumineye Creator on different machines. Note: Add FTP or FTPS Site in IIS with the physical path C:\VXL\FDM\FDMSite\preview if the Creator and DS Manager are installed on different machines. 6. Fill in all the fields shown at *. 7. Click Save. 8. Click OK and re-invoke the Illumineye Creator. Now, designing can begin. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 16 of 161

17 Configuring the Illumineye DS Manager After the successful installation of the Illumineye DS Manager, configuration can begin. 1. Click Views and a drop box will be presented. Click on CONFIGURATION SETUP. 2. Click on Configuration Settings as displayed. 3. Click on General Configuration as displayed. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 17 of 161

18 4. Click on Illumineye as displayed. 5. Illumineye Configuration has the fields Application Path and Media Path. a. Ensure that FDM_HTTP is selected in the Application Path. b. In Media Path field, enter the values as below: Local Media Path mentioned in the Creator (by default it is C:\Illumineye\Medias) if the Creator and DS Manager are installed on the same machine. C:\VXL\FDM\FDMSite\preview if the Creator and DS Manager are installed on different machines. Note: Add FTP or FTPS Site in IIS with the physical path C:\VXL\FDM\FDMSite\preview if the Creator and DS Manager are installed on different machines. 6. Click Save 7. After saving the Illumineye Configuration field, the following confirmation message will be presented. Digital Signage settings saved successfully. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 18 of 161

19 Step By Step Instructions for Using Illumineye Creator Illumineye Creator enables you to make your campaigns more attractive and engaging for your audience. Login to Illumineye Creator 1. From the desktop, double-click the shortcut for Illumineye Creator. The Login screen is displayed. 2. Enter the Username and Password (by default the Username and Password is admin ) 3. Click the Offline Mode check box, in case you are working in an environment where the DS Manager is not accessible. 4. Click Login. 5. A window with options will appear: To create a new layout and open an existing layout. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 19 of 161

20 Log out from Illumineye Creator 1. To end the session and log off, select Logoff on the user pane menu, at the top right corner of the screen. 2. On the displayed prompt, click Yes. 3. The session is terminated and the login screen is displayed. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 20 of 161

21 Exiting from Illumineye Creator 1. To exit from the application, select Exit on the user pane menu at the top right corner of the screen. 2. A prompt is displayed. 3. Click Yes. 4. The session is terminated and the application is closed. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 21 of 161

22 Working with layouts Illumineye Creator allows users to display their content creatively, by setting a layout of the display screen. On this layout, it is possible to assign a fixed portion of the screen only for particular components such as a digital image, video, RSS feeds, etc. Additionally, it gives facility to choose a layout from the available options as well as user can create one based on preferences. Creating a new layout Here, users can create their own layout based on their preference, by choosing a template for the available options. Users can create a customized layout, by selecting the components of their choice. Also, there is an option of dragging and placing items on the blank canvas. 1. To create a new layout, click on Create Layout after login. A window with pre-defined template designs is displayed. Note: You can also access the create layout option from the Quick launch menu. 23 2. In the Name box, enter a name for the layout. Note: Untitled will be the name assigned to the layout, if you leave the box blank. 3. Select the required Aspect Ratio. 4. From the Resolution list, select the required size for the layout. 5. In the Template tab, select the required template. 6. Click OK. Opening an existing layout The application displays all the saved layouts, from where user can open them, with or without media. 1. To open an existing layout, click Open Layout after login. A list of saved layouts is displayed. Note: You can also access the create layout option from the Quick launch menu. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 23 of 161

24 2. Select a layout and click Open. 3. Select the Open as a Template check box on the top of the window to open only the layout designs, without the media. Updating an existing layout Media of the components can be added or deleted in the update process. Components with edit enabled can only be modified. Updated playlists can be directly scheduled without the need for approval. 1. To update an existing layout, click Open Layout after login. A list of saved layouts is displayed. Note: You can also access the create layout option from the Quick launch menu. 2. Select a layout and click Update located at the bottom-left of the window 3. The selected layout is opened in update mode. After the successful additions or deletions done to the required components, click the Update button located towards the top-left of the windows. Multiple options are presented which are described below: Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 24 of 161

25 a. Save: Saves the updated copy of the layout. b. Save and Export: Saves the updated copy of the layout and also allows to be exported so as to update the player. c. Save and Upload: Saves the updated copy of the layout and also allows to be uploaded to the location where DS Manager can access this. Using DS Manager this updated layout can be directly scheduled to the players eliminating the approval process. d. Exit Update Mode: This option exits from the window. Note: Users will have to enable the Edit mode of the components to work with the Update feature. Import, Export and Revert Layout The File option contains four features: Import Playlist, Export Playlist, Export as Default Schedule and Revert. Import Layout This option is used to import a playlist from other users of DS Creator. 1. Firstly, user needs to click on the Import Layout option. 2. A window pops up, which prompts to select the desired layout. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 25 of 161

26 3. Choose a XML file of the layout you wish to import and click Open. 4. A window pops up with a query Do you want to import this layout? 5. Select one of the two options and click Yes: a. With Media: Import the playlist with all the Media. b. Without Media: Import the playlist without Media. 6. Now, imported playlist will be displayed in the canvas. 27 Export Layout This option is used to export a playlist to other users of DS Creator. 1. User needs to open a playlist that is to be exported. 2. Click on the Export Layout option to export it. 3. Now, a window pops up in DS Creator with a query Do you want to export this layout? 4. Select one of the two options and click Yes: a. With Media: Export the playlist with Media. b. Without Media: Export the playlist without Media. 5. A window appears on the screen and prompts for the Destination Folder. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 27 of 161

28 6. Select or create a new folder and click Select Folder. 7. Now, playlist will be exported in the desired location. Note: Users will have to open the playlist in the canvas that is to be exported. Export as Default Schedule To export a playlist as default schedule on one or more players, users need to select this option. In this process, users will have to use USB storage, in which they need to create a folder named as idss. After the completion of whole below mentioned procedure, a zip file will be created that should be saved or transferred in idss folder created on the USB storage. 1. Firstly, user needs to open the playlist that is to be exported as Default Schedule. 2. Click on Export as Default Schedule option. 3. A window pops up and prompts to choose a destination folder for playlist. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 28 of 161

29 4. Select the desired location or make a new folder with the name idss in USB storage and press Enter. 5. A window appears on the screen, which prompts for the MAC Address of the player, on which you want to display the playlist. 6. Here, users can add one or more MAC Addresses as per their need. 7. If you do not want to enter the MAC address, then Click on Ok and proceed. 8. A zip file will be created into the selected folder. 9. Users need to transfer the file into the idss folder of USB storage, if it is on another location. 10. Now, users can simply insert the USB storage into player to display the playlist as default. 11. When user will insert the USB storage, these icons will be displayed on the player s screen: Icon Description Appears on screen when USB storage gets inserted. 30 Appears on screen to show that playlist is being copied on player. Appears on screen when playlist fails to get uploaded on player. Appears on screen when provided Mac address is incorrect. Appears on screen when playlist gets uploaded successfully. Appears on screen during insertion of USB with same Zip file (Zip file of already playing playlist). Appears on screen when there will be no space in player s memory. Note: Users will have to open the playlist in the canvas that is to be exported as default schedule. Revert This option restores the recently saved version of a playlist, if a user makes changes in the playlist. 1. For example, make a layout and save it. 2. 31 3. If you wish to undo all the changes and open the saved version, simply click on the Revert icon. 4. A window pops up and prompts Are you sure you want to revert? 5. Click Yes. 6. Now, user will view the saved version of the playlist. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 31 of 161

33 Understanding the interface The default screen of the application will display the options below, with the layout, which user has chosen in the previous step. It contains the Canvas in the center, the toolbar at the top, the component pane on the left and the style pane, with common properties to the right. Quick Launch Menu is provided at the bottom and the Sliding Menu Bar is provided at the left. User can start designing layout for the campaign on the canvas, using these tools. User pane The User pane gives information about the application, such as version number. It includes an option to logoff and exit from the application. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 33 of 161

34 Toolbar The toolbar provides different options to format the components. Here, user can select one or many components on canvas and apply formatting of them from the toolbar. 35 File Icon Description New Opens a new layout. Open Opens the created layout. Save Saves the designed layout with the name provided. Save As Saves another copy of the layout with the name provided. Import Layout Allows users to import playlists from other users. Export Layout Allows users to export playlists to be used by other users. Export as Default Schedule Enables to export a playlist as Default Schedule on one or more players. Revert Allows restoring the recently saved version of the playlist. Action Icon Description Undo Reverses a recent action. Redo Reverses the Undo action. Clear Canvas Removes all content on the canvas. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 35 of 161

36 Duplicate Creates copy of the selected component. Edit Edits the selected component. Delete Deletes the selected component. Copy Makes a copy of the selected component. Fit to Canvas Fits the selected component on the whole canvas. Lock Locks the selected component for editing. Unlock Unlocks the selected component so that editing can be done. No-Edit Components selected with No-Edit feature cannot be edited in update mode. Edit Components selected with Edit feature can be edited in update mode. 37 Complete Selection Selects components within the selection boundary. Partial Selection Selects components within and crossing the selection boundary. Grid Icon Description Show Grid Displays grid lines for easy aligning. Snap to Grid Snaps the component in use to the closest grid. Grid Size Provides grid size settings. Click Grid Size displays 4 options: Snap to Region Snaps or aligns the component in use to the closest component, shaded in a different pattern, within the specified grid boundary. Component alignment Icon Description Align Left Aligns all selected components to the left. Align Horizontal Center Aligns all selected components horizontally at the center. Note: The last component selected is taken as a reference for alignment Border Icon Description Adjust Component Border Width Adjusts the width of the component border. Adjust Component Border Radius (Rounded edges) Adjusts the radius of the component border. Choose Component Border Style Chooses the type of the component border. Styles pane The Styles pane displays pre-defined styles that can be applied quickly and easily to components on the canvas. 44 Properties pane The Properties pane contains options that give the facility to configure all the components on the canvas. If a particular component is selected, it also allows quick access to all the important properties of that component. Upload Upload is used to upload the created layouts to the Illumineye DS Manager for approval and scheduling. 45 1. Select the required layout on the left. 2. To preview the layout before uploading, click Preview. 3. Once ready to upload, click Upload. 4. The layout will be displayed on the right side of the Upload Playlist screen, along with the overall upload progress indication. 5. To know the detailed content upload progress, click Status. a. A successful upload will show all files with green indicators. b. An upload in progress will show all files with orange indicators. c. An unsuccessful upload will show all files with red indicators. 6. In case of un-successful uploads, user is provided with Retry option. 7. The Reupload option is provided to re-upload the layout. 47 Enlarging canvas area Canvas area can be enlarged both in the horizontal and vertical directions by clicking on the arrow icon provided in the Ruler area. The screenshot below shows the enlarged canvas area, collapsed toolbar group and highlighted arrow icons. Sliding Menu Bar Towards the right side of the screen, near the Style pane, user will find the Sliding Menu Bar. 48 Quick Launch menu At the bottom of the screen, user will find a Quick launch menu, which allows the user to create or open an existing layout. It also contains the Media Library that stores all required media for the layouts and the settings of the application. Icon Description Create Layout Opens a canvas to work on a new layout. 50 Adding files to the Media Library User needs to add media files to the library in order to access them in Illumineye Creator. Users can add media files to the library from the local computer. To add files to the Media Library: 1. Click Import. 2. Select the local path of the file and click Open. Removing files from the Media Library To remove imported files from the Media Library: 1. It includes the option to set the FTP settings, while using a remote login for the DS Manager. It helps in adding or managing different connection profiles and offers event logs view as well. Viewing the Application Version Number To view the version number of the application that is currently installed. 1. On the top right corner, click the user pane menu 2. 57 Working with Settings The settings option lets you configure default setting for all the components available on the component pane. It includes the option to set the FTP settings, if you use a remote login for the DS Manager. Also, users can add and manage different storage profiles. 1. Launch the quick launch menu. (refer to Working with quick launch menu) 2. Click the button. The Settings window is displayed. The Settings window consists of the following tabs: Component Preferences: Sets a default value for every property of the components. General Settings: Defines the local and remote media path. 58 Component Preferences The Component Preferences is the first screen displayed in the settings. It displays the default values of each property, for every component. You can define the value of these properties in this screen and it will be enabled as the default setting for all components on the canvas. 1. Click on the component name to expand and display its properties. 2. To change a value of a property, double click its value or select the check box as required. Note: Click Reset to reset all properties to its original value 3. Click Save to save all the changes made. 4. Click Close to exit the window. 59 To change the Local Media Path: 1. Enter the path in the text box provided. OR Browse to the location and select the folder. a. Click Browse. b. Navigate to the location of the folder with the required media. c. Click Select Folder. 2. Click Save. To change the Remote Media Path: Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 59 of 161

60 1. Select FTP or FTPS from the Remote Media Path list. 2. If the certificate has been changed on the server, Update Certificate allows updating the latest certificate. 3. Add the Server IP. 4. Enter Path, if you have created a specific folder on the server with your media files. Note: Leave the FTP or FTPS path blank if you do not have a specific folder name on the server and it will access the servers root folder 5. Add Username and Password of Illumineye DS Manager. 6. Click Save. Note: Every time you change a path and save, you will need to restart the Illumineye Creator application again Data Source Profiles If users require the table component to use data files from the server, they should add the profile of that server connection in the Data Source Profiles. 61 1. Enter Profile Name. 2. Select Connection Type. 3. Enter Server IP. 4. Enter Path. 5. Enter Username and Password of the server profile. User can test the FTP, FTPS, HTTP and HTTPS connections by clicking Test Connection. 6. Click Save. To Edit a Data Source Profile: 1. Select the connection that is to be edited. 2. Click Edit. 3. Enter Server IP. 4. Enter Path. 5. Enter Username and Password of the server profile. User can test the FTP, FTPS, HTTP and HTTPS connections by clicking Test Connection. 6. Click Save. 62 3. Click Yes. 4. Click Close. Event Logs It displays all the major events performed by the user, in the Creator. Following details of each event are displayed: User who performed the action. Time when the action was performed. Action that was performed. Details of the action performed. Exporting the Event Logs: Click on Export Logs to save the event logs to a CSV file. 63 Working with components User can design the layout for the layout using different components available in the Component pane. The Component pane includes 16 components and a Preview option. Adding a component The first step in creating a layout is to add a component to the canvas. There are two ways of adding a component to the canvas. 1. Right click inside the canvas area. 2. Point to Add Region and select the required component. Note: From the Component pane, click and then drag the required component to the canvas. After adding the components, right-click in the canvas area to perform the following actions: Click Select All to select all components on the canvas. Click Undo Click Redo Adding overlapping components To add overlapping components on the canvas: 1. Right-click on the Canvas. 2. Point to Add Region and select the required component. Note: From the Component pane, click and then drag the required component onto the existing component. To order the components when component overlap each other: 1. Right-click on a component that has overlapping components on it. 2. 64 Editing a component Once the component is added on to the canvas, user can perform the actions below to achieve the desired layout. 1. Select the component. 2. To resize the image, drag the corners of the component. 3. To reposition the component: a. Select the component. b. Drag and position the component on the canvas at the required location. Copying a component Note: Refer to Region in Working with the toolbar. Deleting a component 1. Select the component. 2. Press the Delete key on your keyboard. Copying properties of a component 1. 65 4. A Property Name window is displayed at the top right corner of the screen. 5. Select the properties that have to be copied. Note: Select All, selects all the properties available in the list 6. Select the required image from the Media Library. Note: You can select multiple images by holding down the Ctrl and SHIFT keys. 7. Click Open. 8. The image is displayed in the Contents tab. 9. Editing image properties User can apply different effects to images to make the campaign more engaging. To edit the image properties: 1. Select the image. 68 a. Effects Applies special effects to the image. b. Mirror Displays the mirror image. c. Playlogs Creates a record in the log file for each activity. d. Reflection Displays a reflection of the image. By default, the reflection is displayed below the image. e. Scale Content Scales the image to fit the component size. f. Aspect Ratio- Maintains the proportion of the image. Select any of the option: None, Width, Height and Auto to maintain the desired aspect ratio. g. SkipWhenNoContent Skips the component when the specified media is unavailable. Deleting an image 1. From the canvas, double-click the image component. The Contents window is displayed. Working with Video component Moving objects with sound can make a campaign more appealing to your target audience. Note: If you have chosen to work with the existing layout, you might already have a video component on the canvas so you could skip the above step. 2. To add a video, double-click the video component. The Contents window is displayed. 3. To add a video from the Media Library, click Add. The Select Video dialog box is displayed. To display a video in full screen, select the FullScreen check box. 8. To mute the video while it plays, select the Mute check box. 9. To specify the duration of the video, double-click the value in the Duration column. 10. Enter the duration in HH:MM:SS format. 11. Shuffle Media option plays the added images in random order. 12. Duration field provided at the top-right of the window applies the value specified to all or selected items in the list. The Contents window is displayed. 2. From the list, select the required video. 3. Click Delete. The video is deleted. 73 Working with Flash component Users can add a flash or a Shockwave file to their campaign with ease. Flash files are small graphics based animations programs. Though, they are smaller than videos, they can still convey large volumes of information. The types of flash files supported by Illumineye are: swf Adding a flash file 1. Click and drag on to the canvas and place it at the desired location. 2. To add a Flash file, double-click the flash component. The Contents window is displayed. 3. To add a flash file from the Media Library, click Add. The Select Flash dialog box is displayed. 4. Select the required flash file from the Media Library. Note: You can select multiple flash files by holding down the Ctrl and SHIFT keys. 5. Click Open. The flash is displayed in the Contents tab. 6. To define the order of the flash components: a. To move the flash component up in the order, select the flash file and click Up. b. To move the flash component down in the order, select the flash file and click Down. 7. Scrolling Direction Chooses the side the ticker will scroll. Note: Double click the direction and select from the drop down list b. Show Bullets Adds a bullet at the beginning of each ticker text. c. Show Type- Displays text back-to-back. d. Speed- Sets the speed of the moving text in the ticker. 83 Editing RSS properties To edit the RSS feed properties: 1. Select the RSS. 2. From the Properties pane, use any of the following options to edit the RSS: a. Number of feeds Defines the number of feeds that will be displayed in a row. b. View Selects between a ticker view and a list view of the feeds. c. Show Media- Shows the Media attached with specific feed. d. Show Bullets- Shows bullets with each feed e. AutoFit- Fits the feeds in the region automatically. f. Number of Rows- When Autofit is un-checked, this option allows user to provide the number of rows. g. Show Type- There are two options in show type: a. Back to Back: Displays more than one feeds one after another without considering the given time. b. Use Duration: Displays feeds by considering the specified time duration. h. To change the default link, double click HTML Content column and enter the new link. 4. To add a new row with another link: a. Click Add. b. Enter the link required in the new row. 5. Working with QR-Code component A QR-Code is a two-dimensional code (2D code, matrix code), this means it contains data not only in one dimension (e.g. horizontally from left to right like the barcodes on products for example, your grocery store), but also in a second dimension, (vertical and horizontal). 126 Playlist Approval Once a layout is designed and uploaded on the Illumineye DS Manager, it will need to be approved at the playlist approval screen. 1. In the quick launch menu, click icon. Note: To access playlists created by other users, admin rights will be required. You may also access the Playlist approval screen from the right menu bar. Click >Click Configuration>Select Playlist Approval. To refresh the list of Available playlist: Click on Refresh. To approve the playlist: Select the required playlist from the Available Playlist window. Click Approve. The playlist will move to the Approved Playlist window. Bluecasting Bluecasting is a proximity marketing tool which enables Illumineye users to deliver content and applications to Bluetooth enabled mobile devices. 1. In the quick launch menu, click. Click Save. Cleaning up Common Data Illumineye DS Manager allows cleaning up all the selected or elapsed data from the player. 144 Managing Users User Management enables you to create and manage organization or customer details, user roles, user group and users in Illumineye DS Manager. In User Management, you can search, create, edit, and delete user related parameters. Working with a Company Profile You can configure customer details such as company, site and default group name, and group level. These details display in the devices tree on the Device Manager page. Editing Company Details You can edit the company details only if no group(s) or node(s) exists in the devices tree. If a new group is created, or a new client is discovered in the server and listed in the devices tree, the option to edit Company Details becomes disabled. To edit the company profile 1. Expand the right menu. 2. Click Configuration Setup, then click User Management, and then click Customer. a. The Company Details section is display. It displays the company information entered when logging in to DS Manager for the first time. For information about entering company details when you login into DS Manager for the first time, see the Login to Device Manager section in Getting Started. 3. Change company details as required. 4. 145 Working with User Roles The User Role enables you to search, create, modify and delete user roles; and assign access rights to a user. You can assign a user the following access rights for a particular module: 1. Full Access: User has full access rights to apply settings, and manage or cancel tasks in the application. 2. Read Access: User has the right to only read or view the settings applied. 3. No Access: User has the right to only view the client device or DS Manager Information. The user has no management rights. Creating a User Role 1. Expand the right menu and Click Configuration Setup. 2. Click User Management, and then click User Role. 146 3. Under Details, click New Role. 4. On the New User Role tab, enter the Role Name and Description. 5. Click Save. 6. On the Permissions tab, nine modules have been added: a. Bluecasting: Enables the User to deliver content and applications to Bluetooth enabled mobile devices. b. Common Clean Up data: Enables the user to delete selected or elapsed playlists with or without media from the players. c. Create Playlist: Using this Module, the user will be able to create their own layout based on their preference in Illumineye DS Creator. d. General Settings: User will be able to define the local and remote media path in Illumineye DS Creator using the module. e. Media Library: It s a repository in Illumineye DS Creator, which enables the users to select media files to be used in a layout. f. Playlist Approval: Enables the user to give approval to the designed layout, when it gets uploaded on the Illumineye DS Manager. g. Scheduler: Users will be able to schedules the playlist for the campaigns using this module. h. Screenshot Configuration: This module provides the facility to trigger Illumineye player to send screenshots at defined interval. i. To configure the user settings for a specific user in a domain, select the Domain User check box. 5. In the User Name and Password text boxes pane, enter the domain administrator s user name and password. 6. Click OK. a. 152 b. In the Domain User Name list, select the single user name or multiple user names for which the DS Manager application is to be configured. If the Domain User check box is not selected, follow the steps listed below to create a new user. 1. Enter the mandatory details User Name, First Name, Last Name and Id and other details as required. 2. Click Check User Availability to confirm if the selected user name is available. a. If the user name exists in the application, the User already exists message is display. b. If the user name does not exist in the application, the User name available message is display. 3. Select the Enabled check box to enable the user to log into the DS Manager application. If the Enabled check box is not selected, the user is unable to log in to the application. 4. In the Group list, assign the group to enable the user to access the features of the application as applicable. 5. Click Save. Searching a User 1. Expand the right menu. 2. 154 Discovering Devices For devices to be managed, the first step is to discover and then enroll them for management. Challenges faced in the discovery of network devices include: Multiplicity of devices with varied operating systems and categories. Multiplicity of network and device topologies, which control access to various network segments such as VLAN. To open the DISCOVERY page: 1. On the toolbar, click in View icon Viewing Devices 1. In the menu on the left, click View. A list of all available, discovered devices is display. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 154 of 161

155 Filtering list of Devices To quickly filter the list, in the SUMMARY pane, click the number against the required filter category. The filter categories are as follows: Total Discovered: The number of all discovered devices. Total Registered: Number of devices registered in DS Manager. Total Unregistered: Number of devices not registered in DS Manager. Total Withought Agent: Number of devices with no agent installed. To filter the list of devices, in the FILTERS section, select one or more of the following options: 1. In the Show list, select the required option. a. To view details of recently discovered and enrolled devices, select Latest Scan Data. b. To view details of recently as well as discovered and enrolled devices, select All Data. 2. In the OS Type list, select the required option. 3. In the Discover Type list, select the required option. 4. In the Agent Status list, select the required option. As soon as you select a value in any filter, the list is automatically updated. To filter the list further, type the search value in the search box just above the list. Discovering Devices Users can discover devices using different types of scans To discover devices: 1. In the menu on the left, click Discover 2. In Discovery Options, in the Scan list, select the required option 3. The options for Scan Type have listed as: a. LAN: discovers all the devices with agent installed or with no agent installed available in the network within the specified IP range. b. Active Directory: discovers all the devices that belong to a particular active directory or domain. c. TCP/IP Range: discovers all devices within the specified IP range that have an agent installed. d. Subnet: discovers all devices within a specified subnet IP address range that has an agent installed. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 155 of 161

156 e. The server sends a broadcast on the network. Devices with agents installed, reply to the broadcast, and the agents are connected to the DS Manager server. f. UDP Broadcast: scans and discovers only those network devices that have an agent installed. One of network adaptors must be enabled during device discovery. g. If the Scan Type is Active Directory Enter the Domain Name. Enter the Username and Password to login to Active Directory. To list the devices registered in the selected domain during a specific time period, in Last active days, enter the required number of days. h. If the Scan Type is LAN Enter the From IP Address. Enter the To IP Address. Click OK. i. If the Scan Type is TCP/IP Range Enter the From IP Address. Enter the To IP Address. Click OK. In TCP scan, devices present in the local network will get discovered. j. If the Scan Type is Subnet Enter the From IP Address. Select the required Subnet Mask. Click OK. In the Subnet scan, devices from define IP address will get discover belonging to the selected subnet. k. If the Scan Type is UDP Broadcast, Click OK In the UDP broadcast scan, devices present in the local network will get discovered. The list gets updated. 157 Registering Devices To quickly filter the list, in the SUMMARY pane, click the number against the required filter category. The filter categories are as follows: Total Registered: The number of all discovered devices. Total UnRegistered: Number of devices registered in DS Manager. Waiting To Register: Number of devices not registered in DS Manager. Total License Available: Number of devices with no agent installed. Total License Utilized: Populate the details of MAC address. The Register function registers single or multiple devices with the software on which the agent is installed. In filter option for register there are three options: 1. Server initiated discovery which indicates recently discovered devices by discover type header under all devices scan type. 2. Agent initiated discovery indicates devices which are registered manually or we can say number of manually requested devices. 3. Default option is ALL in which clients get listed which are discovered by both Server as well as agent initiated discovery. To register the unregistered devices on the server: 1. In the left menu, click Register. 2. In the filter pane, devices can be filter out according to Source and OS Type. If user selects the Default Option or Server Initiated Discovery: Select the device and Click Register. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 157 of 161

158 A message Request for registration of one device(s)is sent. Wait for a few minutes. The Agent Status will change to Registered. If the server is unable to send the registration request to a selected IP, the Request for registration of one client(s) failed message is display. If due to any exception the agent cannot be registered with the server, the Agent Status column displays a Waiting to register message and the device is listed in the summary. While registering client, when Agent status is Waiting to registered, check Registration status for registration progress on device. Administrator can remove the devices, which are not communicating with the server by selecting devices and perform delete operation. For Server Initiated Discovery: For Agent Initiated Discovery: In the register option, Agent Initiated Discovery option has been included in order to register the devices manually. For example, if an agent wants to register a Thin Client with an IP address with DS Manager, which cannot be discovered automatically in the list. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 158 of 161

159 Firstly, the user needs to open Control Center by giving a command CTRL+ALT+C in DS Player. Go into FUDM Settings, Select Manual in Provide Client Settings and HTTPS option in communications Type. Enter the Server IP and Apply. If user will not provide the reasonable information into FUDM Settings, then a window will pop up, which will resist the further process. Illumineye DS Suite: User Guide Page 159 of 161

160 If you want to verify that whether the action has been done properly or not, then go in Certificate Manager. If the earlier settings have been applied appropriately, the certificate for the requested user will be downloaded into server automatically and name of the user will be displayed as shown in below posted image. Now, the Illumineye DS Manager will show the device in list with above mentioned IP address, which you can see in below posted image. From here, user can perform the further actions, which we have seen in above-mentioned options: Default and Server Initiated Discovery. Unregistering Devices 1. 161 2. In Filter pane, devices can be filter according to OS type. 3. When user select device and click on UNREGISTER. 4. Device Unregistered successfully summary message displayed and client gets removed from list. 5. Agent status gets change to Unregister. Sorting Data in a Column User can sort the data displayed in the table on any column. The View feature has been used as an example. User can sort the data in the Discover, Install and Register views. To sort data in ascending or descending order, in the required column s header, click or. Exporting Data to PDF or Excel User can also export the data displayed in the table to PDF or Excel.
