1 Subscriber Folders What Are Subscriber Folders? JETNET Evolution provides the ability for subscribers to create Folders containing Aircraft, History (Transactions), Companies, Contacts, Events, Operating Costs, Performance Specs, and/or Wanteds. Active vs Static Folders A Folder can either be Active or Static as described below: Active Folders are used when the contents of a folder are defined based on a query that was performed by the subscriber. In the previous version of Evolution these were referred to as Projects. To create an Active folder just search on a list of Aircraft of interest and once you have the list of Aircraft desired, then use the Action menu to select Save As New Folder. A new window will appear allowing you to name and describe the new Aircraft Folder you have created. Static Folders are used when the subscriber wants to manage the content of the Folder by hand (not using a query) meaning that the subscriber specifically places individual records into the Folder. Static Folders are great for creating lists of companies that subscribers wish to call or aircraft they have on exclusive or own, etc. Within Evolution, Active and Static Folders are indicated by icons as shown below. Icon Description Used to identify that the Folder is Active meaning that the folder will refresh based on live, weekly, or monthly data content (depending on your subscription) based on the criteria established for your folder. Used to identify that the Folder is Static meaning that the folder will not refresh based on criteria but rather only show the list of items (Aircraft, History, Companies) based on the records physically placed into the designated folder. Additional Subscriber Folder Features Folders fall into various types depending on who created them and their purpose. Each folder will be represented by a specific icon in order to clearly designate the type of folder as illustrated and described in the following table.

2 Icon Description Personal Folders - Used to identify that the Folder is Personal meaning that the folder was created by an individual subscriber and is viewable only by the individual subscriber. A Personal folder is one that will appear for most common subscribers/users and will not be seen by other subscribers. As a typical user creates a folder, the folder will automatically be designated as a Personal folder. Shared Folders - Used to identify that the Folder is Shared meaning that the folder is visible by all subscribers under a given subscription. The only way that a Folder may be designated as Shared is if the administrator for the subscription specifically designates it as such. A Shared folder is one that will appear for all subscribers/users with the same subscription. Not all subscribers have the ability of creating Shared Folders, only the subscriber(s) designated as the Administrator for the subscription. Using this approach, the Administrator can determine whether the Folder is appropriate for the rest of their subscribers sharing the subscription before allowing it to muddy up all subscriber folder lists. Hidden Folders - Used to identify that the Folder is Hidden meaning not displayed in their folder list as a default. To make Folders more flexible they may be identified as Hidden. Hidden Folders will not display as a default allowing the subscriber to essentially Hide folders that they don t use very often. To view Hidden Folders, the subscriber may then just check the box on the folder tab labeled as Show Hidden Folders and their hidden folders will appear in their folder list. Accessing Subscriber Folders from Home Page By clicking on the Home tab, subscribers have access to a wide variety of information including a tab for Folders available on the far right hand column of the interface. By clicking the Folders tab, the subscriber will see a complete list of their folders organized into groups such as Aircraft, History, Company, Contact, etc. By clicking on an Active folder, the system will automatically select and display all records matching the criteria assigned to the folder. By clicking on a Static folder, the system will display a list of the records physically placed into the folder by the subscriber.

3 Maintaining Folders Subscribers/users will access folder maintenance options via the Folders tab to the right hand side of the Home page based on the specific type of folder the subscriber desires to Edit. Once Edit is selected a new form will appear similar to that shown in the following figure allowing the user to view edit all folders of a given type and also allowing them to sort their personal folders for display in their menu. If the user is an administrator, then the user will also have the ability to sort the list of shared folders as well. To sort folders, the user can click on the icon (folder image) to the left of the folder name and drag to the position desired. Users can click on the pencil icon to edit a folder and click on the red X to delete a folder. Adding a New Static Folder The easiest way to add a new Folder is by doing the following: 1. clicking on the Home tab and then clicking on the Folders tab to the right 2. By clicking the Folders tab, the subscriber will see a complete list of their folders organized into areas such as Aircraft, History, Company, Contact, etc. 3. If you currently have no folders then you will see headings for the various areas with no folders underneath. 4. Each heading line will have an Edit link near a pencil icon. By clicking this link or icon you will go to a new page that lists your existing folders for that area. 5. To add a new static folder simply click on the Add New Folder button in the upper right.

This will repaint the screen with the following box displayed allowing you to name the static folder for the area that you are currently in and allowing you to better describe the folder and check boxes of whether you would like the folder to be shared with others or hidden. The system defaults the folder to personal, meaning not shared. 7. Once the Folder title is added and appropriate items checked just click on Add Folder 8. After adding your folder the folder will appear in your list of folders to the left and you can click Close button in your upper right if you are done creating folders. 9. Note that this folder will then be available for you as you want to add entries to it depending on whether they are aircraft, companies, etc. See the following subsection labeled Adding Entries to Static Folders for more detail. Adding and Removing Entries to Static Folders To add an individual aircraft to a static aircraft folder that you have been created, simply: 1. Click into the aircraft 2. Click on the top menu item labeled as View Folders 3. A new tab labeled as Folders will appear to the right as shown in the following figure. 4. Check the appropriate check boxes for the Folders that you would like this aircraft included in 5. Then click on the Save Folders link to save the changes. Note that this same process is used to remove an aircraft from a folder.

5 Also note that this same process will work for any area that has folders such as companies.
