1 Classroom Setup Guide Introduction to Crystal Reports - Version 11.0 Introduction to Crystal Reports is taught as a separate class, not as part of any other class offered by Sage Software. References to the Product References to the product in the trainer course curriculum and the student course curriculum are referring to Crystal Reports or Sage MAS 90 and 200. References to a feature specific to another product are indicated with the appropriate product name. The case study and presentation versions correspond to the curriculum versions, not the software versions. Special Note: The case study has only been tested with the software and modules listed in the above table. Do not install or activate modules other than the ones listed in the above table as this may cause errors when trying to complete the activities and lab exercises in the curriculum. 3 Setup Instructions Follow the guidelines listed below to set up the student and trainer s workstation. Use ODBC Administrator in the Windows Control Panel to determine the version for the SOTAMAS90 ODBC driver. The version number displays on the ODBC Drivers tab. If you do not have Microsoft Word, you can use any text editor such as WordPad or Notepad. It is used to review an exported report. The first time you set up for this class verify the date on the p2sodbc.dll file is 3/23/02 or higher on each workstation. This DLL is found in either the \Windows\System or \Winnt\System32 folder. Earlier dates of this file can cause errors when previewing existing reports. The Introduction to Crystal Reports PowerPoint Presentation is optional. It contains introductory class information and subject matter information. The subject matter information corresponds to pages 5 7 in the curriculum. Student & Trainer Workstations Workstations should run Sage MAS 90 and Crystal Reports on their local drives. Company code SB1 (Superior Bicycles, Inc.) is used for in-class activities and labs. Sage MAS 90 should have security enabled. Create a Supervisor role with access to all tasks, security events, and module options. Set up one user RMD. Define the RMD user with a name of Robin and a user code of RMD. Assign the Supervisor role created for all companies to this user. Passwords are not required. The accounting date of 4/30/10 is used for in-class activities and labs. Define this date as the accounting date for all modules. All workstations should have access to a laser printer. 5 Refreshing Data for Subsequent Classes Due to the modifications made to existing reports and forms, it is necessary to delete and restore the complete Sage MAS 90 program on each workstation. o Replacing just the reports directory does not update Report Manager. o New reports added during class still display on the Custom Reports menu.
