1 Lab 2: Installation of Oracle XE & SOA11g (30 minutes) Objectives At the end of this exercise, you will be able to: Install & Setup Oracle XE Database Install & Setup Oracle SOA11g Install Oracle Service Bus, setup and configure the domain to be used in further labs. Detailed Instructions Install Oracle XE Database (optional step 1-7 if you already have XE installed on your machine) 1. Launch OracleXEUniv.exe 2. Click Next and accept the agreement. 3. Select Oracle XE and location where to install.

2 4. In the next screen enter the password for system administrator account as welcome1 5. Accept the default settings and do next to install Oracle XE. The port used will be 1521 and listener name will be XE by default. 6. Go to Start All Programs Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Go To Database Homepage. 7. Login with username = system and password = welcome1 to verify the installation was successful

3 Configure Oracle XE Database 8. If you are using XE, you must update database parameters if you have never done this for your database installation. You only have to do this once after installing. Make sure processes parameter is >=200. Sometimes the shutdown/startup command at the end here fails. In that case, simply restart the XE service in the Control Panel/Administrative Tools dialog after setting your parameters. sqlplus as sysdba SQL> show parameter session SQL> show parameter processes SQL> alter system reset sessions scope=spfile sid='*'; SQL> alter system set processes=200 scope=spfile; SQL> shutdown immediate SQL> startup SQL> show parameter session SQL> show parameter processes 9. Create the soademo user. It is ok to run this script even if the soademo user already exists. Launch command promt and run the following commands: cd c:\osb11g\labs\sql sqlplus exit Now, login as soademo user and create the credit card info table. It is ok to run this script again even if the table already exists. Be sure to run it with the soademo user for proper ownership. sqlplus Pre-requisite to Install Oracle SOA11g

Go to c:\stage folder and delete the following folders (if present): Disk1 Disk2 Disk 3 Disk 4 Disk 5 rcuhome Unzip the following files to c:\stage folder: ofm_rcu_win_ _disk1_1of1.zip ofm_soa_generic_ _disk1_1of2.zip ofm_soa_generic_ _disk1_2of2.zip Drop existing schema (optional step please read below) 11. If this is the first time you are installing, jump to the Configure Schema step. Otherwise, if you are reinstalling, you must drop your existing schema first. Copy the following into a command window. cd c:\stage\rcuhome\bin rcu.bat The Repository Creation Utility is launched

5 12. Click Next & Select Drop 13. Click Next & Complete the database information

6 14. Click Next The pre-requisites are reviewed and when completed, click OK. The utility moves to the next page with a slight delay, just wait for it. The utility finds the existing schema and offers the list. Check that the prefix is correct and review the schema.

7 15. Click Next On the drop schema warning, click OK. The pre-requisites for this step are reviewed. When completed, click OK to move to the next page with a slight delay, just wait for it. 16. Click Drop to drop the schema. This takes about 5 minutes. When it is finished, Click Done. Create & Configure Schema

8 17. Now create the new schema. Database Oracle Database is the recommended database for SOA Suite deployments. Note that Oracle Express Edition (XE) does not meet the minimum version requirement for supported use, but will generally work in a personal development environment. If you want to use XE you MUST set the RCU_JDBC_TRIM_BLOCKS environment variable to TRUE *prior* to running RCU. As a reminder as to support level, when running RCU against XE you will receive a warning stating that the database version is not supported by Oracle. Launch the command prompt and follow the steps below: The Repository Creation Utility is launched.

9 18. On the welcome screen, click Next 19. Select Create and click Next Enter the database information

10 20. Click Next The pre-requisites are reviewed. When complete, click OK. The utility moves to the next page with a slight delay, just wait for it. On the Select Components screen, enter SH in the field for creating a new prefix. Select the SOA infrastructure component. Dependent schemas are selected automatically.

11 21. Click Next The pre-requisites for this step are checked. When completed, click OK. Select the radio button to Use the same password for all schemas. Enter the schema password, welcome1. If you choose instead to use a secure password or a different one for each schema, be sure to record your passwords as you will need them later.

12 22. Click Next Review the tablespaces and schema owners for the components 23. Accepting the defaults, click Next and then click OK to create the tablespaces. When the pre-requisites for this step are completed, click OK

13 24. Click Create to create the tablespaces. This takes about 2 minutes When completed, click Close. Install SOA 25. Launch cmd cd C:\stage\Disk1\ setup.exe -jreloc C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_21

14 26. Click next

15 27. Skip Software Updates and Click Next

16 28. Choose Middleware Home Directory dialog. Click Next. 29. Click Next

17 30. Review Installation Summary & Click Install.

18 31. Once complete Click Next 32. The Installation Completed screen displays the result of the Oracle SOA11g installation. Click Finish to exit.

19 33. Delete following folders from c:\stage Disk1 Disk2 Disk 3 Disk 4 Disk 5 rcuhome
