8.0.6 New Features Guide Improvements to the feature allow users to quickly and easily set for images. These adjustments will be automatically and consistently applied to similar images. Window/Level Adjustments are easy to manage individually and across modalities, directly from the Image Viewer or the Study Browser. The following sections describe how to use this option. A. Saving an Auto Window/Level Adjustment To use this feature, open a study and set an image to the desired Window/Level values. Then, select Menu Image Adjust Auto W/L or use the default hotkey setting of Ctrl + F12. This saves the current Window/Level values as an Auto Window/Level Adjustment for the current image definition. A dialog box will appear notifying the user that the adjustment has been saved. Users may view and manage saved from the Auto W/L tab of the Study Browser s Option menu. If a Window/Level Adjustment already exists for the current image definition, it will be replaced by the new adjustment. Once a February 28, New Features Guide 8.0.6
8.0.6 New Features Guide Window/Level Adjustment has been saved, any images that fall within the same definition will have the saved Window/Level Adjustment values applied automatically when opened. Note: The image definition for an Auto Window/Level Adjustment is mathematically calculated and automatically set to ensure that adjustments only apply to images within the same modality that have intensity values similar to the original image. Although Auto Window/Level Adjustments will generally be automatically applied to all images within the image definition, other viewing settings may take precedence over this feature. B. Applying To manually apply an Auto Window/Level Adjustment, users can select Menu Image Auto W/L or use the default hotkey setting of F12. This will apply the Auto Window/Level Adjustment to the current image. This is particularly useful when other viewing options override the, or after manually changing Window/Level values on a selected image. C. Managing Users can view and manage from the Auto W/L tab of the Study Browser s Options menu. To navigate to this tab, please select Settings Options Auto W/L. February 28, New Features Guide 8.0.6
8.0.6 New Features Guide The Auto W/L tab s Adjustments box lists all saved for the current user. The Filters box lists all filter settings applied across a modality. Users can add, edit, and remove Adjustments and Filters from this tab to ensure that images will always be displayed according to their preferences. Note: There is only one set of Add, Edit, and Remove buttons. These buttons are used to manage both Adjustments and Filters. The following sections describe how to manage Adjustments and Filters from this tab. 1. Adding Adjustments To add an Auto Window/Level Adjustment from the Auto W/L tab, users must know the exact numerical values for the Adjustment they wish to create. First, click inside the Adjustments box and select the Add button below the filters box at the bottom of the page. A Window Level Adjustment dialog box will open. The Window Level Adjustment dialog box allows users to manually specify the modality and image type the Auto Window/Level Adjustment will apply to, as well as the desired Window/Level values to be applied. In the Modality field, specify the modality to be associated with the new adjustment. In the Low February 28, New Features Guide 8.0.6
8.0.6 New Features Guide Window, High Window, Low Level, and High Level fields, specify the range of intensity values for the images that the new adjustment will apply to. In the New Window and New Level fields, specify the values to be automatically applied to the specified images. Note: When created directly from the Image Viewer these values will be automatically calculated and populated based on the currently selected image and applied Window/Level values. Click OK when finished. The new Window/Level Adjustment will be saved and appear in the Adjustments list. The new Window/Level Adjustment will automatically apply to the appropriate images the next time they are opened. In order to save a new Adjustment, all fields must be completed. If fields are not completed appropriately, warning dialog boxes will appear prompting the user to correct the error before saving. 2. Editing Adjustments To edit an Auto Window/Level Adjustment from the Auto W/L tab, users must know the exact numerical values for the Adjustment they wish to create. First, select the desired item from the Adjustments list and click Edit. An Edit Parameters dialog box will appear, allowing users to specify the images that the adjustment will apply to, as well as the Window/Level values to be applied. Note: Users may not edit the modality of an existing Auto Window/Level Adjustment. In the Low Window, High Window, Low Level, and High Level fields, users may edit the range of intensity values for the images that the new adjustment will apply to. In the New Window and New Level fields, users may specify the values to be automatically applied to the images. Click OK when finished. Changes to the Window/Level Adjustment will be saved and appear in the Adjustments list. Updated Adjustments will automatically apply to the appropriate images the next time they are opened. In order to save changes to an Auto Window/Level Adjustment, all fields must be completed. If February 28, New Features Guide 8.0.6
8.0.6 New Features Guide fields are not completed appropriately, warning dialog boxes will appear prompting the user to correct the error before saving. 3. Removing Adjustments Users can delete by selecting the item they wish to delete from the Adjustments list and clicking Remove. The Adjustment will be deleted immediately and will no longer automatically apply to images. 4. Adding Filters To add a Filter, click inside the Filters box and select the Add button at the bottom of the page. A Window Level Filter dialog box will open. The Window Level Filter dialog box allows users to manually manage Filters that will apply across an entire modality. Only one Filter may be created per modality. In the Modality field, specify a modality for the new Filter. In the Minimum Pixel and Maximum Pixel fields, specify the appropriate values for images in the modality. Select the Use DICOM values checkbox to automatically use the DICOM values supplied by the modality. If the Use DICOM values checkbox is selected, will not be applied to images within the specified modality that have supplied DICOM values. Click OK when finished. The new Filter will be saved, appear in the Filters list, and immediately apply to all images for that modality. In order to save a new Filter, all fields must be completed. If fields are not completed appropriately, warning dialog boxes will appear prompting the user to correct the error before saving. February 28, New Features Guide 8.0.6
8.0.6 New Features Guide 5. Editing Filters Users can edit existing filters by selecting the item they wish to edit from the Filters list and clicking Edit. An Edit Parameters dialog box will appear, allowing users to edit filter values. Note: Users may not edit the modality of an existing Filter. Make any necessary changes and click OK when finished. Changes to the filter will be saved and appear in the Filters list. The new changes will automatically apply to the appropriate Modality. In order to save changes to a Filter, all fields must be completed. If fields are not completed appropriately, warning dialog boxes will appear prompting the user to correct the error before saving. 6. Removing Filters Users can delete Filters by selecting the item they wish to delete from the Filters list and clicking Remove. The Filter will be deleted immediately and will no longer apply to images in the modality. February 28, New Features Guide 8.0.6
