1 2.2 USERS MANUAL Overview Pixondo Scheduler is a web application that allows Concordia Software Engineering students to generate and view possible schedule configurations based on their courses, semester and preferences. Accessing the system and Registering To access the Pixondo Scheduler, simply launch a web browser and enter the URL scheduler.co.nr. From there, the welcome page will be displayed customly to fit your device s aspect ratio. Registration is the crucial step of adding credentials to the system to create a user profile. To begin registration, simply click the <sign in / register> button in center or the <Sign In> button at the top right of the page.

2 A short menu will be opened. By selecting the <Register> tab at the top, a first-time user will be able to enter their name, address and chosen password. Once the form is complete, clicking the <Sign Up> button will take the user back to the welcome page where they can now sign in with their newly created account. In the case that some input was invalid during registration, the system will notify the user with an appropriate error message until the registration is properly completed. Sign In A user with a valid registered account may now sign into the site. To do so, they may click the <sign in / register> button and choose the <Sign In> tab at the top of the preceding menu. After entering their registered and password, a user may click the <Login> button to access the site.

3 Main Page Upon a successful login, the user will be taken to the main page. Here, a short welcome message is displayed to the user along with various options and menus. For the purposes of this user manual, the dark menu on the left of the site will be referred to as the main menu. If the user is accessing the site from a mobile device, the main menu will instead be accessible in the form of a drop-down menu. Profile Page The profile page can be accessed by selecting the <Profile> option from the main menu or alternatively by selecting the identical option in the drop-down extension of the username tab which is constantly available at the top of the site. From this page, a user may view their profile information, including their name and address.

4 Set Up Page The Set Up page can be accessed either by choosing the <Set Up> option from the main menu or by clicking Set Up >> on the main page. This page is where the user can enter or overwrite their preferences. The Set Up menu is divided into two parts: 1. Term (Mandatory) - Under Semester, the user can select the semester for which they would like to generate a schedule. The options available are Fall, Winter, Summer Term 1 (May - June), and Summer Term 2 (July August). - Under Year, the user can enter the year for which they would like to generate their schedule. This will allow the user to save multiple schedules for each year. - Under Courses, the user must select the courses they wish to generate a schedule with. By expanding the drop-down menu, the user will be able to select each of

5 their courses by scrolling through the list and clicking on their choices. Alternatively, the search tool at the top of the menu can allows the user to find their courses much quicker and more efficiently. To remove a course, simply un-check any of the selected courses. 2. Preferences (Optional) - Under Day of the Week Off, the user can select their prefered weekday on which to avoid having any classes. - Under Preferred Building, the user can select their least favorite building in which to have class from the options H, JMSB, EV, and FG. - Under Teacher To Avoid, the user can select professors they would prefer to avoid if possible. * The same search tool from the Courses section is also available here. Once any of these sections are filled, clicking the <Save for Later> button will save the user s preferences and return them to the preferences page. Selecting <Generate Now> instead will still save the user preferences, but will also generate their schedules immediately and direct them to the Schedules Page.

6 Scheduler Page The scheduler page is where schedules are displayed. It can be accessed exclusively by clicking the <Generate Now> button at the bottom of the Set Up page after filling out the mandatory Term tab. By clicking on a class block within the schedule, details about that course will be displayed above. Only 10 schedules will be displayed on this page at a time, but if more schedule possibilities were generated, the user can navigate through them using the <Previous> and <Next> buttons at the top or bottom of the page. At the top right corner of every schedule is a <Make This My Schedule> button.

7 Clicking this button will save the chosen schedule for that year and semester to be available for viewing later in the My Schedules page. If a schedule for that semester and year has already been saved, a warning will be displayed at the top of the scheduler page. In the event that no schedules could be generated based on the user s course choices, semester choice, or other preferences, the page will display a notice to the user and ask them to change their preferences. My Schedules Page This page can only be accessed by choosing <My Schedules> from the main menu. The My Schedules page is very similar in appearance to the Scheduler page and displays the user s saved schedules. The user may choose to remove any of their saved schedules by clicking the <Remove This Schedule> button at the top of any schedule.

8 Help Page This page links the user to a PDF version of the user manual. Logging Out Logging out of Pixondo terminates the user s session and returns them to the homepage of the site. This can be accomplished by expanding the username tab at the top of any page and selecting <Log Out>.
