4 - 4 - M70 REMOTE ATTENDANT CONTROL - OVERVIEW LED Indicator TOP Up/Down Arrows w Standard Mode: Operate Motor Function w Program Mode: Alter Program Setting Screen Display Left/Right Arrows w Standard Mode: SelectMotor Function w Program Mode: Scroll Program Options Exit/Back Button Select/Save Button STANDARD MODE: In Standard Mode the remote operates as an attendant control box using the Left/Right arrows to cycle through the available motor functions on the power positioning system (PPS), and the Up/Down arrows to operate the selected motor function. PROGRAM MODE: In Program Mode, the remote functions as a hand-held programmer to allow qualified technicians the flexibility to reconfigure the PPS to better meet the specific needs of the end user when necessary. IMPORTANT! Program Mode on the remote is password protected. There are two unique passwords available; one for Users and one for Technical Service. To enter into Program Mode, press the Select/Save and Exit/Back buttons simultaneously. When the Enter Password prompt appears on the screen display, key in the appropriate password sequence using the directional arrows (refer to Section. in this manual) SELECT/SAVE BUTTON: The select/save button is used in Program Mode to select (enter) the specific option/function you wish to re-program, and is utilized to save your changes once programming is completed. EXIT/BACK BUTTON: The exit/back button is utilized during Program Mode to return to the previous screen display, or to exit at any stage during programming without saving your changes. SCREEN DISPLAY: When not in use, the screen display is designed to enter into sleep mode after 10 sec. in Standard mode and after 10 sec. in Program mode ; Pressing any button on the remote will re-awaken the display. LED INDICATOR: The LED light is a visual signal as to the position/status of the power positioning system. The LED light on remote box is designed to mirror the indicator lights on the 4-way and 8-way switch boxes: Green Light = indicates that seating system is in the Home position; Flashing Green = indicates that seating system is Out of Home; Flashing Red = indicates that a TIlt/Recline and/or Elevating system is in Reduced Speed Drive; Red Light = indicates the seating system is in Drive Lockout (DLO).

5 - 5 - M70 - STANDARD (ATTENDANT) MODE 1.0 USING THE M70 REMOTE AS AN ATTENDANT CONTROL In Standard Mode the remote operates as an attendant control box using the Left/Right arrows to cycle through the available motor functions on the power positioning system (PPS), and the Up/Down arrows to operate the selected motor function. 1.1 ATTENDANT CONTROL - OPERATING MOTOR FUNCTIONS 1. Use Left/Right arrows (1) to scroll through the available power positioning (motor) functions (i.e. Tilt, Recline, Elevate, etc..). Note: the remote will only display the power positioning functions that are available.. Select the desired motor function (in the screen display), then press and hold the Up/Down arrows () and (3) to operate the actuator. The power positioning function and direction of travel will be indicated on the display screen (See example below showing Tilt function). TILT 1 TILT FORWARD TILT BACKWARD 3 1. ATTENDANT CONTROL - ADJUSTING MOTOR SPEED NOTE: Motor speeds may be adjusted independently while in standard (attendant control) mode. In standard mode, the Exit/Back and Select/Save buttons function as Speed Down and Speed Up while operating a motor function. 1. Select the motor function and direction you wish to adjust.. To decrease the motor speed, press the Speed Down button (left) while simultaneously pressing the motor function/direction button (1). Motor Direction 3. 6 - 6 - M70 - PROGRAM (TECHNICAL SERVICE) MODE.0 PROGRAMMING USING THE M70 REMOTE ATTENDANT CONTROL WARNING! Prior to any programming, please ensure you read and understand all instructions. Never exceed the recommended safety limits where applicable. If you have any questions or concerns with any programming options, please contact our Technical Service Dept for assistance..1 TECHNICAL SERVICE PROGRAM MODE To Enter Technical Service Program Mode: 1. Press both lower buttons simultaneously (1) to access the Enter Password screen. Enter the Technical Service Password using the key pad (); Press the the directional arrows in the following sequence: UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT Enter Password 1 up down. PROGRAMMING OPTIONS Select Program Option: NOTE: ALL programming options are available in Technical Service Program Mode; 1. Use Left and Right arrows (1) to scroll through available Program Options: 1 Set ATT SW = configuring operator/attendant switch Set Tipsy = set limits/lockout angles Set Speed = set individual actuator/motor speeds Get Version* = indicates current software version Set Actuator* = On/ motor functions Set Motor Type* = set motor type by manufacturer Set Config* = On/ settings for miscellaneous system features *Note: the indicated program options are not available in User Mode. User Mode Password =Up/Up/Down/Down.3 CONFIGURING THE OPERATOR/ATTENDANT SWITCH (Set ATT SW): To Program the Operator/Attendant Switch Box: 1. In Program Mode scroll using Left/Right arrows (1) until Set ATT SW is displayed on screen, then press Select/Save Button (). Set ATT SW 1. Press any switch position (3) you wish to program on the operator switch box (switch type may vary). Note: After pressing the switch, screen display will indicate the assigned switch position (i.e.; SW1, SW, SW3,...) and the function currently assigned. 3 (e.g. 8-Way Switch Box)

SAVE OK 5 Select/Save (Press TWICE to Save following each change) Exit/Back Default Switch Number Assignments (for reference during programming) LED 1 3 TOP LED 3 TOP TOP TOP LED TOP 1 8-Way Switch 4-Way Toggle Dual Toggle Quad Push Button Dual Push Button Optional Splitter Cables: Additional Switches may be added by connecting a splitter cable into the switch port on the M-Series Seat Controller. Their are two models of Splitter cables available: C648 -way Splitter; C654 3-way Splitter. Both splitters are configurable up to a maximum of 1 programmable switches. The Remote will automatically recognize and number the additional switches for programming (i.e.; SW1, SW... SW11, SW1) switch ports (10-pin micro-molex) to seat controller (switch input) The C648 splitter must be configured using one 8-Way Switch in one port, combined with any other switch in the remaining port (up to 4 functions). C648 -way splitter C654 3-way splitter The C654 splitter may be configured for use with up to three 4-Way Switches (one in each port), or it may be configured to utilize any switch combinations up to the maximum 1 switches.

8 SETTING INDIVIDUAL ACTUATOR FUNCTIONS ON/OFF (Set Actuator): The individual actuator motor functions may be turned on and off as needed to operate the positioning system. NOTE: in Standard Mode the remote attendant control will only display the actuator functions that have been turned ON in Program Mode. To Program the Actuator Functions: 1. Enter the Technical Service password (Up/Down/Left/Right), scroll using Left/Right arrows (1) until Set Actuator is displayed on screen, then press the Select/Save Button (). Set Actuator 1. Use the Left & Right arrows (3) to scroll through and select the actuator function you wish to program: 3 Programmable Actuator Options: TILT - turn tilt function on/off RECLINE - turn recline function on/off ELEVATE - turn elevate function on/off CNT LEG* - turn center mount legrest function on/off IND LEG* - turn independent legrest functions on/off R/LEGS - turn combined recline & legs function on/off BACK^ - turn power back function on/off LIGHTS^ - wheelchair lights on/off (via switch allocation) 3. Use the Up/Down arrows to turn the selected actuator function ON (4) or OFF (5). (See example below showing programming of the Recline function). 4 RECLINE ON RECLINE OFF 5 4. To save your changes, press the Select/Save button (6) TWICE. Each change must be saved individually following adjustment 5. Repeat steps - 4 as necessary to program remaining motors. 6. To exit press the Exit/Back button once to return to the Program Options screen. Press twice to exit program mode. SAVE OK 6 Select/Save (Press TWICE to Save following each change) Exit/Back *Note: The Center Mount Legrests (CNT LEG) and Independent Legrests (IND LEG) are mutually exclusive- when one is turn ON the other must be turned OFF. The internal software will automatically turn off the legrest function that is not selected. ^Note: In a standard configuration, the BACK and LIGHTS functions are mutually exclusive since they utilize the same port on the M-Series Control Box. Both options are not available at the same time.

9 SETTING LIMITS AND LOCKOUT ANGLES (Set Tipsy): WARNING! Risk of system damage, personal injury or death The angle at which limits are set is critical to the safe operation of the power positioning system. Motion Concepts will not be liable for any injuries or damage sustained when adjustments are made beyond the factory recommended settings. IMPORTANT! When adjusting/programming the Tipsy Sensor, please note that the Home, Reduce, DLO and Max-Angle limits are contiguous. Each limit/angle must be set to a greater or equal angle than the previous. To Program the Limits and Lockout Angles : Set Tipsy xxxx 7 HOME Back Angle Indicator ooxx 5 DLO 1 3 Tilt/Recl. Forward 4 Tilt/Recl. Backward IMPORTANT! Ensure seating system is on a level surface in the full upright position prior to programming the tipsy. 1. In Program Mode scroll using Left/Right arrows (1) until Set Tipsy is displayed on screen, then press the Select/Save button ().. Use the Left/Right arrows (3) to scroll through and select the tipsy position you wish to adjust: Home - sets home position/angle Reduce - sets reduced speed drive angle DLO - sets drive lockout angle Max_Angl 1 - sets the maximum Tilt or Recline or Tilt/Recline angle Default* - resets limits to Factory Default settings Reset* - resets Max_Angle to 168 and all other limits to 0 *Note: Refer to the Recommended Tipsy Angles (p.10) for specific details on the Reset and Default settings. 3. Press the Up/Down arrows (4) to adjust the seating system to the desired angle**. (See Recommended Tipsy Angles (p.11)). **Note: as the seating system is tilted/reclined, the back angle (degrees) will be indicated in the upper right corner of the display screen for reference. IMPORTANT! 1 Note: When adjusting the Max_Angle on a Tilt/Recline or Recline Only system: The default Max_Angle setting may vary from system to system and is pre-set at the factory. The Max_Angl limit should only be adjusted if the maximum angle needs to be decreased from the current factory set-up. Programming Instructions: i. To set the Max Recline angle, the display (angle indicator) must be switched to Recline mode by pressing the left & right arrows simultaneously (A)- the display will change to show the recline angle (range= ). ii. Before saving, verify that the angle & tipsy position you wish to set are displayed on the screen (e.g. DLO, 5 ), then press the Select/Save button (5) TWICE to save changes. Each tipsy position must be saved individually following an adjustment 5. Repeat steps - 4 as necessary to program remaining limits/angles. 6. To exit press the Exit/Back button once to return to the Program Options screen. Press twice to exit program mode. IMPORTANT! RECOMMENDED TIPSY ANGLES (SAFETY LIMITS) Please refer to the following factory recommended limits/lockout angles when programming the Tipsy Sensor: HOME POSITION 0 to 0 REDUCED SPEED DRIVE Max. Limit = 0 DLO (Drive Lockout) Limit 1 Max. DLO = 30 (Max DLO = 5 if No Reduced Speed Drive ) MAX BACK ANGLE Limit Max. Tilt Limit = 55 (MCT systems), 50 (50T Mod.) or 45 (45T1 Tilt/Lift Mod.) Max. Tilt/Recline Limit = 168 (Tilt/Recl, Recl-only) 1 Note: DO NOT exceed the maximum recommended DLO Limit Note: for Bariatric (MCT-B) systems, the Max.Tilt Limit may be limited to 30 or 45 based on client weight Resetting the Tipys Sensor: There are two options available to reset the existing tipsy settings- Default or Reset DEFAULT (Factory Default Settings) = 15 Home, 0 Slow Down, 30 DLO, 168 Max Angle RESET* = 0 Home, 0 Reduced Speed Drive, 0 DLO, 168 Max Angle *Note: Requires the Home, Reduce and DLO limits to be re-programmed.6 SETTING MOTOR TYPE BY MANUFACTURER (Set Motor Type): Motor Type adjustments allow for programming of current/amperage limits for each individual motor. The available current settings are provided in the reference matrix provided (refer to Table 1.0). WARNING! Current limit adjustment beyond the factory settings is not necessary under typical operating conditions. Improper adjustment may cause damage to the actuator and/or the positioning system. Always contact Motion Concepts Technical Service Dept. prior to making any current limit adjustment. IMPORTANT! When programming, the upper line of the screen display will only indicate the assigned/programmed motor outputs (i.e. only the motor outputs being used will be displayed). To Program the Actuator Motor Speeds: 1. Enter the Technical Service password (Up/Down/Left/Right), scroll using Left/Right arrows (1) until Set Motor Type is displayed on screen, then press the Select/Save Button (). Set Motor Typ 1. You will be prompted to enter an additional password (re-enter the password in reverse sequence: Right/Left/Down/Up) 3. Use the Left/Right arrows (3) to scroll through and select the motor output (from control box) for which you would like to adjust the amperage (i.e.; Tilt, Recl, Back, Elev, LLeg, RLeg, etc...) Use the Up/Down arrows (4) to scroll thru/select the available current settings (see Table 1.0 for a list of pre-configured current settings). Each speed adjustment must be saved individually following modification 6. Repeat steps 3-5 as necessary to adjust/program additional motor amperage settings. 7. Press the Exit/Back button once to return to the Program Options screen. Press twice to exit program mode. SAVE OK 5 Select/Save (Press TWICE to Save following each change) Exit/Back.7 MISCELLANEOUS FEATURE SETTINGS (Set Config): Set Config The Configuration Settings allow several miscellaneous features to be turned On/ via the M70 Remote. These features are factory preset according to the installed power positioning system, and do not typically require any further program modifications. Please contact our Technical Service Department prior to making any changes to the existing configuration settings.

12 GET SOFTWARE VERSION (Get Version): To determine the current software version of the Remote Attendant Control: 1. Enter the Technical Service password (Up/Down/Left/Right), scroll using Left/Right arrows (1) until Get Version is displayed on screen, then press the Select/Save Button ().. The current software version will be indicated on the screen display. 3. To exit press the Exit/Back button (3) once to return to the Program Options screen. Press twice to exit program mode. 13 OMNI CONTROL MODULE- OVERVIEW LCD Screen Display Navigation Up/Down Buttons w Seating Mode: Operate motor function w OBP Mode: Scroll through program options Left/Right Buttons w Seating Mode: Select motor function w OBP Mode: Enter/Exit program settings s w Seating Mode: Adjust speed w OBP Mode:Change program setting Profile Mode On/ Optional Port for external On/ Switch SEATING MODE: In Seating Mode the OMNI Module operates as an attendant control to operate the power positioning system using the Left/Right Navigation buttons to cycle through the available motor functions, and the Up/Down buttons to operate the selected motor function. PROGRAM (OBP) MODE: In On-Board Programming (OBP) Mode, the OMNI display functions as a programmer to allow qualified technicians the flexibility to reconfigure the SID to meet the specific needs of the end user. IMPORTANT! In order to enter OBP programming mode, an R-Net Programming Dongle is required. Please refer to the OMNI Programming instructions provided in Section 3.0 of this manual. ON/OFF BUTTON: The On/ button provides a complete power down of the control system electronics. Note: An optional on/off port is also available for an externally mounted switch (1/8 phono) which can be operated by the user to turn the control system power on/off PROFILE BUTTON: The Profile button is used to sequence through all available Drive Mode Profiles. MODE BUTTON: The Mode button is used to sequence through all available system modes. When connected through the R-NET Programming Dongle, press the mode button to scroll and enter into OBP Mode. NAVIGATION BUTTONS: In OBP Mode, the 4 directional buttons allow navigation of the On-Board Programming (OBP) Menu. In Seating Mode, the 4 directional buttons select and operate the available motor functions. + / - BUTTONS: In OBP Mode, use the +/- buttons to change/select the desired program setting for the highlighted parameter. In Drive Mode, the +/- buttons can be used to adjust the on-screen speed control level.

14 ON-BOARD PROGRAMMING (OBP) MODE - OMNI 3.0 ACCESSING the OBP MENU on the OMNI CONTROL MODULE WARNING! Risk of system damage or serious personal injury Incorrect programming could result in an unsafe set-up of a wheelchair for a user. It is important that you read and understand all instructions provided. Please contact Motion Concepts Technical Service Department if you have any questions or concerns regarding programming of your Specialty Input Device. IMPORTANT! Please also refer to the OEM Installation and Technical Manuals provided with the OMNI Control Module for more detailed instructions and additional safety warnings 3.1 CONNECTING THE R-NET PROGRAMMING DONGLE 1. Power-off the control system (turn off power on the OMNI Control Module).. Disconnect the communication cable from the OMNI Control, and connect the R-Net Programming Dongle in-series between the Power Module (Wheelchair Base) and the OMNI Module- see Fig. A. Press the mode button (1) to sequence through all the available system modes until the On-Board Programming (OBP) Menu appears (). (Note: the timer symbol will appear when entering OBP Mode) 1 Timer Symbol (appears when entering OBP Mode) NOTE: Following a module re-configuration, or when the Omni module is first connected, the control system may require a re-boot. If a flashing power icon appears on the screen display, turn the OMNI power off and on in order to complete the reboot.

15 PROGRAMMING a SPECIALTY INPUT DEVICE (SID) through the OMNI CONTROL The OMNI Control is compatible with 6 different specialty input devices (SID s): SID Type SID Setting Joystick (+ User Switch) Proportional 5 Switch (+ User Switch) Switch 3-Axis Proportional (+ User Switch) 3-Axis Proportional 3-Axis Switch (+ User Switch) 3-Axis Switch Sip and Puff Device (+ User Switch) Sip Puff Single Switch Scanner Scanner PLEASE NOTE The OMNI Control programming instructions included in this manual are provided for the more commonly used SID applications (i.e.; ASL Head Array; Mini Proportion Joystick). Detailed instructions are provided for the following devices: i. ASL Head Array: 3-Axis Switch With User (Mode) Switch ii. ASL Head Array: 3-Axis Switch Without Mode Switch iii. Mini Proportional Joystick: Proportional Controls (4 Quadrant) For programming instructions or set-up information regarding other SID s such as a Sip N Puff, Single Switch Scanner, etc... please refer to the R-NET OMNI Technical Manual (SK78813) provided separately, or contact our Technical Service Department for further assistance GENERAL SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS: Connecting the Specialty Device into the OMNI Control 1. Plug the 9-Pin (D-Type) harness from the Specialty Input Device (ASL Head Array, Mini Joystick) into Port 1 on the OMNI Control (refer to image at right). (If applicable) Plug the separate user/mode switch (i.e. push button, dome switch, etc..) for the SID into the User Jack 1 phono port on the OMNI Control. User Jack 1 (1/8 phono) Port 1 (9-Pin) 3. Connect the R-Net Programming Dongle in-series between the base power module (wheelchair base) and the OMNI Control, and enter into On-Board Programming (OBP) mode (see Section 3.1). A Navigating within the OBP Menu: 1. In the OBP Menu, scroll the menu options using the up/down navigation buttons (A) until the desired parameter is highlighted. Press the right navigation button (B) to enter into the program screen for the chosen parameter. (Press the left navigation button to exit/ return to the previous menu screen).. Use the +/- buttons (C) to change/select the program setting for the chosen parameter. B C NOTE: If the system is powered-down or there is no OBP activity for 5 minutes, then you will need to re-enter program mode (using the mode button).

16 PROGRAMMING a SPECIALTY INPUT DEVICE (SID) through the OMNI CONTROL IMPORTANT! The programming instructions and settings provided are specific to the SID indicated. Unless otherwise indicated, all OMNI default program settings should remain unchanged. IMPORTANT! When programming via the OMNI Control Module, all changes are automatically saved. If you wish to reset the OMNI Control back to its original default settings, proceed as follows: DEFAULT RESET = OBP Menu System Load Presets Global (Press the + button to reset) 3.. ASL HEAD ARRAY: Programming Instructions, 3-Axis Switch with Mode Switch: 1. From the main OBP Menu, scroll until the Omni parameter is highlighted and press the right navigation button to enter the Omni menu screen. Scroll until the Gobal parameter is highlighted and then press the right navigation button to enter into the Global menu. In the Global Menu, scroll to the Sleep 1V setting ; Use the +/- buttons to turn this setting On. Sleep 1V On 3. Return to the Omni menu screen. Scroll down to the Profiled parameter and press the right navigation button to enter the Profiled menu. Use the navigation buttons to scroll across to each profile (Pr1, Pr, Pr3,...Pr5) and use the +/- button to set ALL profiles to Port 1. Prf Pr1 Pr Pr3 Pr4 Pr5 Port Return to the Omni menu screen. Scroll down to the Port 1 parameter and press the right navigation button to enter the Port 1 menu. Scroll to the SID parameter and press the right navigation button to select.
