4 Test Report 1 Scope This test procedure details the test methods, requirements, and instructions for testing the Smiths Connectors Sabritec Quadrax: P/N socket size 9 & P/N pin size 9 listed here. 2 Order of Precedence In case of a conflict between the text of this document and the applicable referenced documents, the text of this document shall take precedence. 3 Description of Test Articles Smiths Connectors Sabritec internal part number, quantity to be tested, and a general description of articles to be tested to the requirements of this document are as in Table 1. Testing will consist of 5 groups with 5 samples per group. Table 1: Connector Part Numbers and Descriptions. 5 Test Report 6 Test Equipment and Facilities 6.1 Test Equipment Table 2 lists the equipment to be used during the performance of the testing required herein. Equivalent items may be used if the effectiveness and accuracy of the tests are not adversely affected. 6.2 Facilities Smiths Connectors Sabritec may use its own facilities or any commercial laboratory that is approved as a valid supplier, unless otherwise specified. 6 Test Report 8.2 Contact Resistance (Loose Contacts) Requirement: The contact resistance shall be measured individually between each mated pair of contacts. All pairs in the sample group are to be tested in accordance with MIL-STD-1344, Method Resistance values measure in milliohms with a 1 amp source current. Results: PASS see Appendix A for test results 8.3 Shield Contact Resistance Requirement: The Shield contact resistance shall be measured individually between each mated pair of body shield contact. All pairs in the sample are to be tested in accordance with MIL-STD-1344, Method Resistance values measure in milliohms with a 1 amp source current. Results: PASS see Appendix A for test results 8.4 Eye Pattern Test Requirement: Connectors to be tested at maximum frequency called out in the connector specification. Connectors to meet jitter and data rate requirements. The test data rate of the sample is to be 1, 2, 3Gbit/sec or greater. Results: PASS see Appendix A for test results 8.5 Insulation Resistance Requirement: Mated connectors shall be tested in accordance with Method 3003 of MIL-STD-1344 and per of MIL-DTL The connector should be mounted on a printed circuit board which may be conformal coated. Points of application will be between pins and hardware, pin to pin and between pins to shell. Measurements must be greater than 1000 Mohms at 100 Vdc. Results: PASS see Appendix A for test results 8.6 DWV Requirement: Mated connectors shall be tested in accordance with of MIL-DTL (Sea Level). The test voltage level is to be 300Vdc. Test was pin to pin and each pin to shell. Results: PASS see Appendix A for test results 8.7 Maximum Contact Current Requirement: Contact to be tested at 1.5 Amp maximum current called out in the connector specification. Contact to meet requirements as the temperature rise, and record the test sample temperature change. Results: PASS see Appendix A for test results 8.8 Durability Requirement: Per MIL-STD-1344, Test Method 2016, connector pairs to be mated and unmated 6,000 cycles. Cycle rate not to exceed 250 cycles/hr and connectors shall be visually examined for any damage. Results: PASS see Appendix A for test results 8.9 Visual & Mechanical Requirement: Connectors and associated fittings shall be examined to verify that the design, construction, physical dimensions, marking and workmanship are in accordance with the applicable requirements.
