1 International Leased-Circuit Services This section gives the charges for all Telecom International Private Leased Services available from New Zealand and Scott Base to other countries. All International Private Leased Services are subject to the Telecom Services Agreement for Business Customers. Special terms also apply to each International Private Lease Service. The Telecom Service agreement for Business Customers and special terms are available by calling Telecom on 126. These charges include only those that are payable to Telecom for the New Zealand or Antarctic portion of the circuit. They do not include any charges payable to non-new Zealand telecommunications carriers for the overseas part of the circuit. 3 1 Analogue Voice/Data Service Auckland is the New Zealand point of entry for analogue leased circuits. Extension from Auckland to the customer's first distribution point is free of charge. The first distribution point is defined as the nearest location to Auckland at which the customer has access to the international circuit. Connection from this location to any additional customer -delivery points (that is, for multipoint operation) within New Zealand will be charged at the standard national analogue leasedcircuit rental (see National Leased Circuit section 4 Analogue Data Service ) The analogue provided by Telecom is a fullduplex, 4-wire half circuit, operating to CCITT Rec. M12 or CCITT Rec. M14. Note: CCITT Recommendation M12 details the characteristics of a special-quality international leased circuit with special bandwidth conditioning. CCITT Recommendation M14 details the characteristics of an ordinary-quality international leased circuit. A "half" circuit originates at a customer's delivery point(s) in New Zealand and connects, at a point of electrical interface, with transmission facilities provided by an overseas telecommunications organisation (which has an agreement with Telecom to connect the circuit to an overseas destination). 1.1 Installation Charges Charge for new connection or installation per circuit $5. 6 3 SKYSTREAM Service (Digital Data Circuits by Satellite) SKYSTREAM Service is a digital satellite available to Hong Kong, Japan, New Caledonia, Rarotonga, Singapore, Tahiti, Vanuatu, USA and Western Samoa, which is provided under Telecom's standard provisioning arrangements of the "Telecom Contract for Telecom SKYSTREAM Service." Telecom's SKYSTREAM Service provides a half-circuit designed for full duplex operation. Note: A half-circuit means a leased circuit, which is established between the customer's delivery point or points within New Zealand and a point of electrical interface with transmission facilities under the jurisdiction of an overseas telecommunications organisation. There are 6 International Service Access Points which are located within the Auckland, Hamilton, North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin "City Step" tariff zones for Telecom's Digital Data Service (DDS). Provided the customer's Service Delivery Point lies within any one of the above tariff zones, the monthly lease charges listed here include the price of a single local access circuit from the customer's Service Delivery Point to the nearest International Service Access Point. Customers who require more than one local access circuit or who require to be delivered to points outside of the six "City Step" tariff zones will be charged standard DDS charges for the additional access circuits and extensions (See National Leased Circuits section 1 Digital Data Service ). 3.1 Installation Charges There is no installation charge for a minimum contract period of one year, or a longer-term contract. All upgrade, alteration and reconfiguration charges, such as speed changes, will be charged actual costs (including labour, materials, overhead and travelling time). 8 Where a customer's requirement cannot be met by standard SKYSTREAM Service, Telecom may offer a Special SKYSTREAM Service. Special SKYSTREAM Service is usually offered in response to a need for non-standard data rates, overseas destinations, satellite facilities, overseas telecommunication administrations and their earth satellite station facilities, hours of operation of the or non-standard transmission modes. Prices other than those listed in Section 6.3 may apply in cases where Special SKYSTREAM Service is provided. 10 5 Antarctic SKYSTREAM Service (Digital Data Circuits by Satellite) The Antarctic SKYSTREAM Service is a digital satellite available from Scott Base to New Zealand and other Pacific destinations and is provided under Telecom's standard provisioning arrangements of the "Telecom Contract for Telecom Antarctic SKYSTREAM Service." Telecom's Antarctic SKYSTREAM Service provides a half-circuit designed for full duplex operation. Note: With respect to Antarctic SKYSTREAM Service only, a half-circuit means a leased circuit which is established between the customer's delivery point or points at Scott Base and a point of electrical interface with transmission facilities under the jurisdiction of an overseas telecommunications organisation or a point of electrical interface with Telecom's standard SKYSTREAM Service. For an end-to-end between Ross Island and New Zealand, the Standard Telecom Skystream Service charges are added to these prices. For circuits from Ross Island to the rest of the world, these charges only cover the Antarctic portion of the circuit and do not include any charges payable to overseas Telecommunications Administrations for those portions of the circuit under their jurisdiction. 5.1 Installation Charges There is no installation charge for a minimum contract period of one year, or a longer-term contract. 14 8 LIGHTSTREAM (Digital Data Fibre-Optic Cable Circuits to Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore, U.K. and the U.S.A.). 1 LIGHTSTREAM is a digital fibre-optic cable to various overseas destinations which is provided under Telecom's standard provisioning arrangements of the "Telecom Contract for LIGHTSTREAM. Telecom's LIGHTSTREAM provides a half-circuit designed for full duplex operation. There are 6 International Service Access Points which are located within the Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin "City Step" tariff zones for Telecom's Digital Data Service (DDS). Provided the customer's Service Delivery Point lies within any one of the above tariff zones, the charges listed here include the price of a single local access circuit from the customer's Service Delivery Point to the nearest International Service Access Point. Customers who require more than one local access circuit or who require to points outside of the six "City Step" tariff zones will be charged standard DDS charges for the additional access circuits and extensions. (See National Leased Circuits section 1 Digital Data Service ). Lightstream is also available to Australia on an end-to-end basis (one stop shop). Customers should ask for more information from their Telecom Account Manager. Note : A half-circuit means a leased circuit which is established between the customer's delivery point or points within New Zealand and a point of interface with transmission facilities under the jurisdiction of an overseas telecommunications organisation. 8.1 Installation Charges An installation charge of $2 for the New Zealand end of the applies where the customer does not have a suitable existing access. Notes: In some cases it may be possible to provide at 56kbit/s in which case a provisioning surcharge of $4,2 applies. Extension of 56 kbit/s beyond the "City Step" tariff zones may not be available.
