You must install 1.5a sp2 first. Please download the 1.5a sp2 update from the dealer site and install before updating to 1.6b. Please allow yourself at least two days of testing with DMM 1.5a sp2 before moving forward to make sure everything is working correctly. The DMM 1.5a sp2 comes with upgrade instructions that must be carefully followed - DMMFirmwareUpgrade_Version1.5a_Technote.pdf. Make sure you read those instructions when upgrading to 1.5a sp2. PC System Requirements Microsoft Windows XP, VISTA, 7 (32 bit or 64 bit) 1.4GHz processor (2.0GHz or faster dual core processor recommended) USB and / or Ethernet port 1GB of RAM (2GB or more recommended) 300 MB of available hard disk space 1024 x 768 display resolution or higher New System Objects Equinox 73 LCD Station The new Equinox 73 touchscreen is now available to be added to all projects through the Vantage Objects panel. The new touchscreen can be specified for new projects as well as to replace 650 and/or 1040 touchscreens on existing projects. Each Equinox 73 on a system enables one tablet/mobile device connection. If more tablet/mobiles are needed, please acquire and install an app license card (EQ-APP-5, EQ-APP-10, EQ-APP-x). Support has also been added for a screen emulator mode (when connected to a controller) to manage the touchscreen s widgets and profiles. The widgets include scenes, lighting, climate, weather, video, home theater, audio, security, and cameras. Additionally there is support the proximity sensor that can brighten the screen and activate a task. It is recommended that this scene be an ON scene and perhaps include conditional logic for time of day or load level. The mechanical button on the right (the bullseye ) can be programmed with any task, such as an Area Off. The mechanical button on the left is not programmable; it returns the user to the dashboard level of the screen. 3 Equinox App Object The new Equinox App object is now available to be added to all projects through the Vantage Objects > Touchscreens panel. Apps can be specified for new projects or to go into existing projects, after being updated to Design Center 3.2.x. The App object helps to determine the proper license quantity card (EQ-APP-5, EQ-APP-10, EQ-APP-X) needed for a project. Support has also been added for a screen emulator mode (when connected to a controller) to manage the app s widgets and profiles. The widgets include scenes, lighting, climate, weather, video, audio, security, and cameras. * NOTE: There is a new field in Settings > Project Information > Owner called the Equinox Mobile Passcode. This is a required setting for apps on mobiles and tablets to be able to connect to an InFusion system. The use of the password will keep users who don t have permission from downloading the Equinox App and connecting to a system. NuVo Player Object A new audio object has been added to the Vantage Objects > Audio/Video panel to help a Vantage system more easily integrate the NuVo Proplayer system (P100, P200, P3100). The object contains the line in, streaming service and Bluetooth in (P200 only) as well as the zone object for amplification and zone control, if necessary. Input the zone player s IP address directly into the properties of the zone for communication and control. Equinox 73 Widget Style A new style object for Equinox 73 touchscreens has been created and added to the Style / Profile View. Because the Equinox 73 touchscreens do not use the standard keypad styles (trim, faceplate, button, etc) the style only contains settings for global Equinox 73 keypad brightness and sounder settings. Generic AV Device A generic AV device has been added to the Vantage Objects > Audio/Video panel to help handle non-controllable audio or video input devices such AirPlay (AirPort Express), game consoles, etc. These are for use with Equinox 73 and apps, as well as Equinox 40 keypads. Place the object in the project, fill out the appropriate properties and then select the generic device as an input to a multi-room audio or video or surround system for use with the Audio or Video Widget. Weather A weather object has been created and added to the Programming View for use with Equinox 73 touchscreens, Equinox Apps and Equinox 40 keypad headers. Multiple weather objects can be added to a project. Camera Object A camera object has been created and added to the Vantage Objects > Security panel for use with Equinox 73 touchscreens and Equinox App. Properties include local IP address, remote IP address, friendly name, user name and password as well as the resolution and video format. Multiple camera objects can be added to a project for use with Equinox screens. 3

4 Object Editor Additions Exclude From Widgets Property Most objects in Design Center have had an Exclude From Widgets property added to them. If selected as True this object will not be sent down for use with the Equinox UI. It can still be used in task programming, etc but will not be visible on the Equinox 73 or Equinox apps. For example, if there are loads, such as extra relays not used or bidirectional shade motors, it is recommended that you exclude those from being sent down. Display Name Property Objects in Design Center have been given a Display Name property. This is used for simplifying the text or object name visible for the Equinox 73 or Equinox apps UI while not jeopardizing the value of the longer names needed in programming view. For example, a load named Master Bedroom Accent Ceiling Lights could be given the friendly display name of accents or master accents so that for users it s much easier to find and use that light in the Lighting Widget. Typical use for this option will be for loads, sources, thermostats and other commonly used objects. Display Configuration Tab for Display Drivers The Equinox Video Widget will NOT work without setting this up! The Display Configuration tab allows the Display Driver to associate/map which input goes with what Connected Source or zone driver (i.e. HDMI 1 = multiroom video zone 5, HDMI 2 = game console, etc). Additionally, a Widget Action or task can be executed based on the input selection (i.e. volume set, power trigger, etc). Checking the box on the Connected Input allows the TV volume to act as the volume control for the Video widget on that input as opposed to a multi-room audio zone or surround zone. NOTE: There are several steps to the overall video widget process so please check the install guide for more details. Miscellaneous Features Driver Library The local Driver Library has been cleared and instead up-to-date premier partner drivers for use with Equinox are automatically downloaded and populate the Driver Library panel. A new icon is used to identify Equinox compatible/tested drivers. Firmware Updater for 73 To help manage the number of files to update the firmware on Equinox 73, a more comprehensive firmware dialog option is now used. This allows a multi-select for the kernel, rootfs, and app code and will automatically select those files if they need to be updated and send them all down in one click. Equinox Diagnostic in Diagnostics A diagnostic tool has been added to the Design Center Diagnostics menu for use with Equinox 73 and Equinox apps. This can be used to help troubleshoot objects on those devices and associated errors that may occur. Controller Network Settings On the Menu > System there has been a Controller Network Settings option added that allows Design Center to see and now set the IP address configuration. This can help eliminate the need for working on the controller front panel for network information. 4

5 LED Loads Type, Profiles, Report New LED Dimmable and LED Non Dimmable Load types have been added. These loads use the new LED Power profile by default and will appear in the reports and schedules as LED loads. Equinox 40 Improvements - On a two page Equinox 40 design, circular swiping (from page 2 to page right, or from page 1 to page 2 left) now works. - When using the Play Sound Effect procedure on Equinox 40, the volume level set in the procedure used to become the new default sound level for the station. This is now fixed. - A negative outside temperature for the weather mini widget in Equinox 40 used to show the wrong value. This is now fixed. - Copied buttons now have their text in lower case - Playlists could get out of sync when cycling an empty playlist. This is now fixed. - Equinox 40 now supports non-tuner/media Player Devices in the audio mini-widget. - Notes support has been added - Humidistats are no longer allowed in the climate mini widget 5
