1 [AKD679-C] AKD679-C AK679 Evaluation Board Rev. GENERAL DESCRIPTION The AKD679-C is an evaluation kit for the AK679; a bit stereo CODEC with Microphone/ Receiver/ Headphone/ Speaker/ Line amplifier as well as HF/Audio DSP. It realizes an easy evaluation of the MIC-NC and EC system by just connecting to the target product. A USB connection is adopted for control interface, enabling to develop DSP codes with a PC. BCLK frequency is 6fs. P-PDN I These pins are connected to the AK679 to control the PDN pins. 6 P-SCL I These pins are connected to the AK679. When the IC control 8 P-SDA I/O interface mode is selected by toggle switch S9, both of CODEC and DSP block are controlled by these pins. 0 DVSS - GND TVDD - This pin output VDD (.8V or.v) supply for EXT system. 4 [AKD679-C] Control Box The AKD679-C should be connected to a PC via an USB control box. The USB control box is connected to a PC with an USB cable and the AKD679-C with 0-pin flat cable. Note. Push the HOOK button of the AKD679-C for seven seconds, then the D LED starts blinking and build-in Bluetooth becomes pairing wait state. Set a mobile phone into Bluetooth search state. <KM0880> 07/0-7 -

8 [AKD679-C] Search result is displayed. Select [Freemove WA] from the search result and register it. Enter [0000] when password is required. Select the registered machine and connect to them when power-on the AKD679-C next time. The flow of search will be different according to the mobile phone. (ex. A password for mobile phone may be required) Please refer to the handling instruction manual of the mobile phone for concerning details. <Call & Disconnect> Accept Call: When receiving a call, push the HOOK button on front panel of the AKD679-C CALL Setup: Push the HOOK button on front panel of the AKD679-C after making a call by mobile phone. Disconnect: Push the HOOK button on front panel <Note> The internal Bluetooth module can register three mobile phones maximum. The fourth mobile phone can not be registered when it already has three registered mobile phones. In this case, all registered mobiles should be cancelled once to register the fourth mobile. The internal Bluetooth module can be initialized by pressing the HOOK button and BT-RST button in front panel of the AKD679-C for more than five seconds to cancel registered mobiles. c. 10 [AKD679-C] CONTROL SOFTWARE MANUAL Setup of the Evaluation Board and Control Software () Power the AKD679-C evaluation board on and connect it with a USB control box. () Connect the USB control box to a PC with a USB cable. The USB control box will be recognized as HID (Human Interface Device). When it can not be recognized correctly (e.g., unknown device is connected), please push reset button [yellow] on the USB control box. () Install AK679-C.exe to the PC. Then ready to evaluate. The start-up image of control software is as below. Figure 8.
