4 mconnect CDMCM-210 EV Kit Preparation 1. Download mconnect Control App. to your mobile device. mconnect Control on Apple App Store and Google Play. 2. Preparation of CDMCM-210 EV Kit 1) Connect power adapter, 2) Connect to audio device with audio cable. * Please use one WiFi interface, either WiFi USB Dongle or on-board WiFi module. Setup can be done by mconnect Control App s Device Setup screen. 4

5 Access to Setup screen CDMCM-210 supports Wi-Fi and Wired LAN connection. 1. If you want to use via LAN, connecting EV board to AP router with LAN cable is the only process to make network connection. 2. Connection to your Wi-Fi network can be done by below three methods. 1 Activate soft AP mode and then select a WiFi network with control app. 2 Use WPS button. 3 Connect LAN cable to your AP router and then select a WiFi network with control app. WPS Sync(AP mode) 5

6 Wi-Fi Network Connection Using AP mode (1) Press AP mode (Sync) button on EV board for 2 seconds to activate AP mode. You will find a WiFi network of CDM210XXXXXXXX in your mobile phone s WiFi list. Select the CDM210XXXXXXXX network. The password is password. 6

7 Wi-Fi Network Connection Using AP mode (2) Execute mconnect Control app and touch the setup icon on upper left side. Select Device Setup and you will find the name of EV board in the device list. Select the device and the setup screen will be shown. At the setup screen, touch WiFi Network Selection. [mconnect Control app s setup button] [Setup Screen] 7

8 Wi-Fi Network Connection Using AP mode (3) You will see the list of available WiFi networks. Choose a network you want to connect. Type in password of the network, if it has. Touch Join this network and then the device will be reset to connect to the WiFi network. [WiFi network list] [Type in Password] The EV board will connect to the selected WiFi network. Connect your mobile phone to the same WiFi network which the EV board is connected. You will find the EV board in Play to list of mconnect Control app. 8

9 Wi-Fi Network Connection Using LAN Connection Connect EV board to your AP router with LAN cable. Connect your mobile phone to the WiFi network of same AP router that the EV board is connected. Execute mconnect Control app. The rest of procedures are same with Using AP mode method. After making WiFi connection, disconnect the LAN cable and power off and on the EV board. Wi-Fi Network Connection Using WPS button Press WPS button on EV board for 2 seconds. The WPS LED will pulse. Press WPS button on your AP router. The EV board will connect to the AP router. 9

10 Other Functions of Setup Device Name Change: You can change EV board s name on the network. Static IP Setting: Touch the icon on right side of LAN IP and WiFi IP. Then you will see the screen for IP settings. [Link Status] [Static IP setting] 10

11 Firmware Update mconnect Control app will show a notice for firmware update when it is available. The EV board and your mobile phone need to connect Internet accessible network. Select Firmware Update in the list of setup button. Select a device to update firmware. New firmware will be downloaded to the CDMCM-210 from ConversDigital s server via Internet. Please DO NOT power off when firmware is updating. [Firmware Update] 11

12 Factory Reset Press WPS button on EV board for more than 8 seconds. The EV board will reboot with default settings. LED Explanation on LED status is as below. Silk on EV board Description Operation with firmware (v0.4.6 and later) LED2 LED5 WPS_LED LED2 General Purpose LED Port 1. Steady On when WiFi is connected. 2. Fast blinking when WPS mode is activated. 3. Slow blinking when SoftAP mode is activated. 4. Off when WiFi is not connected. LED4 LED3 LED7 LED6 WiFi_LED LED3 General Purpose LED Port Not used. MUTE_LED LED4 General Purpose LED Port On when LAN is connected. LEDs SYNC_LED LED5 General Purpose LED Port Not used. SLEEP_LED LED6 General Purpose LED Port On when system is ready. PWR_LED LED7 General Purpose LED Port On when power is on. (Independent from firmware.) 12

14 MAKE Wi-Fi CONNECTION AND OPEN MCONNECT CONTROL Make Wi-Fi connection of your mobile device to the same network that CDMCM-210 EV kit is connected. Select a Wi-Fi network on the setting menu of your mobile device. (Same network with other devices are connected.) Execute mconnect Control on your mobile device. 14

15 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONS Setup : You will see below setup bars. Device Information : You will see information of current playback device by touching this bar. SEEK : FIND and MOVE position in the stream. The numbers are play & remaining time. Previous/Play/Stop/Next : Play & stop music, next & previous music. play to : To see remote playback devices including mconnect module. Multi-room group is set in this menu. Playlist : List of your favorite music, created and ordered by you. 15

16 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONS Repeat : To control repetition of music playback. Repeat continuous, once, and current song. Random/ Sequential : Option for retrieving playlist. Mute Queue : List of music playing currently micro volume control : You will see below micro volume control bar by touching this button. Browser : To see server devices in the network.(such as Windows 7 & 8 PC, Network Storages and Cloud Storages.) 16

17 DISCOVER SERVER DEVICES Cloud : You will see Dropbox & OneDrive storages. By touching the Browser button, you will see the list of server devices in your local network. mconnect Control finds DLNA/UPnP compatible devices such as Network Storages and Windows 7 & 8 PCs. 17

18 SELECT MUSIC FILE AND PLAY Select a server device in the server list. Then sub-categories are seen. The category and tree structure may vary from devices. Select a music in the list, then the music is played by selected playback device in Play to list. All the music in selected folder is automatically listed on the Queue. 18

19 SEND MUSIC TO MCONNECT REVEICER To send music stream to mconnect Receiver, touch play to button. Then you will see available mconnect Receivers and group of speakers in the network. Select a device or a group to play music. To send music to mconnect Receiver, touch play to button. 19

20 STREAMING MUSIC TO MULTIPLE SPEAKERS : MULTI-ROOM FUNCTION mconnect solution supports Multi-room function to play music to multiple speakers simultaneously. You can make group of speakers to play same music simultaneously. Create new group Type in group name Select devices to include in the group Create new group 20

21 CLOUD STORAGE ACCESS AND REMOTE PLAYBACK mconnect Control provides cloud storage access and playback to remote renderers. If it is first time to access your cloud account with mconnect Control, you will see a screen of authorization for account access. Go back to Local Server List Play with your mobile device. Play to remote playback device. 21

22 PLAYLIST MANAGEMENT ACROSS SERVERS mconnect Control provides playlist management across servers. You can put music list stored in different servers into a playlist. mconnect Control automatically detects whether server devices are on the network, and makes the list available. Manage playlist at Playlist Send to playlist at Browser Send current Queue to playlist Create new playlist 22
