2 Use Prefixes to Describe the Size of Units of Storage Convert Units of Storage from Bits to Bytes and Vice Versa Convert between Units for Measuring Memory Size, File Size and Secondary Storage on Devices such as USB Drives and External Hard Drives The units we use when storing information on our computer have: Bits VS Bytes 1 bit is a single digit number it stands for a 0 or 1. The abbreviation of bit is b NOT B. 1 Byte is a string of 8 bits. Together these 8 bits (or 1 byte) form a character like & or t.
