4 Turning on the System FACULTY OF MEDICINE CONTINUE If the panel appears to be off, touch it to start. Press CONTINUE to begin. 2
5 Selecting Presentation or Conference Mode Getting Started When presenting locally choose PRESENTATION MODE. When videoconferencing choose CONFERENCE MODE. Need help? MedIT Service Desk
6 Using the Room in Conference Mode Select CONFERENCE MODE to videoconference. Select PROCEED and wait 30 seconds while the system warms up. 4
7 Displaying Content in Conference Mode In conference mode content can only be displayed on the right room screen. 1 A or B Conference Mode To display content from a computer source: 1. Select the right screen from the room screens option. A. To display from the in-room computer select LECTERN PC or, B. To display from your laptop select LECTERN VGA. Need help? MedIT Service Desk
8 Using the Room in Presentation Mode Select PRESENTATION MODE to present locally. Select PROCEED and wait 30 seconds while the system warms up. 6
9 Displaying Content in Presentation Mode In presentation mode content can be displayed on both room screens. 1 2 A or B A or B To display content from a computer source: 1. Select the left screen from the room screens option. A. To display from your laptop select LECTERN VGA or, B. To display from the in-room computer select LECTERN PC. 2. Select the right screen from the room screens option. A. To display from the in-room computer select LECTERN PC or, B. To display from your laptop select LECTERN VGA. Need help? 10 Connecting your Windows Laptop 1 VGA cable Audio cable 1. Connect your laptop to the system using the provided VGA and Audio cable. 8
11 ...if the Content Fails to Show Connecting Laptops (PC) P 2. Press the key combination (Windows + P) on your laptop to bring up the display option menu. 3. Select Duplicate. Note: If this does not work, restart your laptop with the VGA and audio cables connected. Need help? MedIT Service Desk
12 Connecting your Mac Laptop 1 Mac adapter VGA cable Audio cable 1. Connect your laptop to the system using the provided VGA and audio cables. You will require your own Mac adaptor. 10
13 ...if the Content Fails to Show 2 command + F1 Connecting Laptops (Mac) 2. Press the key combination (Command + F1) on your laptop to switch the output from your laptop to the connected display. 14 Adjusting the Sound 1 To adjust the sound in the room: 1. Select AUDIO SOURCES on the left and adjust the volume of an audio source (e.g. wireless 1, lectern mic, handheld ) by pressing VOL / VOL. If a volume bar is RED and displays MUTED, the device is NOT transmitting sound. 12
15 Using Multi-Mic Mode 2 1 Multi-mic mode allows up to 3 audience microphones to be engaged simultaneously. 1. Select AUDIO SOURCES. 2. Select MULTI-MIC MODE ENABLE. When enabled the multi-mic button will be highlighted in green. Note: Not all rooms have multi-mic mode functionality. Need help? MedIT Service Desk Sound
16 Using Chair Mode When chair mode is enabled and the chair microphone is on, the camera will remain focused on the chair position even when other people have activated their microphones. To enable chair mode select CHAIR MODE. Once chair mode is enabled the button will be highlighted green. Note: Not all rooms have chair mode functionality. 14
17 Adjusting the Camera 1 Camera Controls 2 3 To adjust the camera: 1. Select the left screen from the room screens options. 2. Select a camera from the camera list. 3. Select a preset of your choice from the lower panel. You may also manually adjust the camera by pressing up/down and left/right arrows. Note: Some sites may have additional options such as audience and/or side camera. Need help? MedIT Service Desk
18 Dialing a Teleconference To connect to a 3rd party audio bridge: 1. Select TELECONFERENCE DIALING on the left. 2. Dial 9 first, and then dial the number you would like to call. 3. Select SEND and follow the auto attendant s instructions to complete your call. Note: Only the host performs the above actions. 16
19 Disconnect from a Call To disconnect a videoconference call: Disconnecting 1. Select VIDEO CONFERENCE DIALING on the left. 2. Select DISCONNECT ALL CALLS. 3. Select OK. Note: Participants at other sites will not be disconnected. Need help? MedIT Service Desk
20 Shutdown To make sure all your conference connections are disconnected, and to reset the system to default settings for the next room booking, you need to shut down the system. 1 2 To shutdown the system: 1. Select HOME on the top left. 2. Select SHUTDOWN. Note: Shutting down the system will disconnect all audio and video calls automatically. Participants at other sites will not shut down. 18
