1-2 The Welcome Screen How to turn on the system This is the Welcome Screen. This will be displayed when the system is powered off. Simply press anywhere on the screen to begin using the system. After touching the Welcome Screen, the Main Menu will appear. Welcome Screen Main Menu Page 4
1-3 The Main Menu What controls are available on this page This is the Main Menu. It acts as a hub for all of the available controls. Here you can access the following controls 1. Sending sources to the display 2. Selecting which source is heard in the speakers 3. Control of speaker volume 4. Additional controls for the sources 5. Controls for selecting a video source for the capture PC 6. Controls for changing the position of the capture camera 7. Powering off the system Each of these will be discussed in more detail in the following pages. Page 5
3-1 Selecting A Source How to use drag-and-drop to view a source The system has two displays that can each show a different video source. The video sources (pictured below) can be sent to the displays simply by touching and holding a source, and then dragging down to whichever display you wish to see it on (Left or Right). The display will then power on (if it is currently powered off), video from the source will be routed to the display, and audio will be sent to the speakers. Once dragged to the display, the touch panel will show the icon of the source that is being sent to that display (bottom image). NOTE: You must hold and drag down, as moving your finger side to side on the sources will register as a side-to-side scroll. Drag Down Press, hold, and drag down source icons to the display icons below to view them on the respective display. Page 6
3-2 Swapping Sources How to swap what is being seen on the displays You can easily swap sources being displayed on the projectors. Press and hold the icon underneath Left Projector or Right Projector (in the example below, Room PC), drag it over to the other side (in this case, Extended Desktop), then release. Now the Room PC will be displayed on the Right Projector, and the Extended Desktop on the left. Page 7
2-3 Clearing A Source How to stop showing a source on a display To stop a display from showing a source, touch, hold and drag the source icon off of the Display icon. In the example below, press and hold the Extended Desktop icon. Then drag the icon off of the display icon (either up or down). The image on the display will go blank and the source icon will disappear from the display icon. Page 8
2-4 Selecting the Speaker Source How to change what is being heard in the speakers The two speaker source buttons (located in the center of the screen) allow the user to change which source is being heard in the speakers. The audio is automatically routed to whichever source was sent to the displays last. Also, the button color changes from black to blue indicating that the audio is following the source being sent to that display. In the example below, the Extended desktop was sent after the Room PC. The button next to the Extended Desktop indicates that it is the source being heard in the speakers. To switch to the other source, press the other speaker source button (in the example below, the button to the right of Room PC ). Speaker Source Use these buttons to change which source is being heard in the speakers. Speaker source matches the left display Speaker source matches the right display Page 9
2-5 Adjusting the Source Volume How to adjust the volume of the selected source The Source Volume pop-up, found by pressing the Speaker button in the lower right hand corner of the screen, allows the user to adjust the loudness of the selected speaker source in the speakers. There are controls for increasing loudness (Arrow Up), decreasing loudness (Arrow Down), and muting the sound ( Mute ). NOT MUTED MUTED Source Volume Controls for increasing, decreasing, or muting the volume of the selected video source in the speakers. Page 10
2-6 Room PC & Extended Desktop What are the Room PC and the Extended Desktop There are two sources on the touch panel labeled Room PC and Extended Desktop. Both of these sources originate from the desktop PC located in the lectern. Room PC uses the first output, and the Extended Desktop uses the second output of the PC. Page 11
2-7 Document Camera What is the Doc Cam The document camera is located in the side drawer of the lectern. To use the Doc Cam, open the drawer and power on the unit. There are no controls available from the touch screen. The Doc Cam is a video source only. No sound will be heard from the speakers, if the Speaker Source button is selected. Page 12
2-8 Portable Device What is the Portable Device source The Portable Device input is located on the top of the lectern. This can be used with any device that has an HDMI or VGA connection (Laptop, iphone, tablet, etc.). Use the controls that pop up next to the source icon (went sent to a display) to select which type of connection you will be using. Make sure to connect your device to the provided cabling. Page 13
