4 MMM Extension Kit The Multi-Media module offers the option of connecting an ipod to and controlling it through the Revox Multiroom system. For some applications however, the cable that is supplied to connect the ipod to the MMM is too short. This is, for example, the case if the MMM is installed in a technical utility room (Re:system M10) and the customer wants to have the ipod connection in the entrance hall to his house. Simply lengthening the cable however, would severely reduce the audio quality and lead to control errors. Note The Extension Kit works without a micro-processor and therefore doesn't require a software update. The Extension Kit solves this problem by conditioning or converting both the audio and the control signals, with the result that a CAT 7 cable up to 100 metres long can be used. The Extension Kit consist of two devices. The Transmitter is connected directly to the MMM, while the Local Receiver is located near to where the ipod is. See Page 7 - Cabling 3

6 Local Receiver Connection: Local Receiver with Transmitter Connection: Local Receiver with USB pluggable power supply. Socket: CAT Cable Screened CAT 7 connection to the Transmitter. The CAT 7 cable can be up to 100 metres long. Socket: USB Power 5V power supply through the supplied USB pluggable power supply (USB-B). The electronics of both the Local Receiver and the Transmitter are powered from this power supply. Additionally, the power supply supports the ipod or iphone charging function. 7 Local Receiver Connection: Local Receiver with ipod or Control Terminal Socket: TO CONTROL TERMINAL OR PORTABLE PLAYER Direction connection of the ipod using the ipod special cable supplied with the MMM or connection of the Revox Control Terminal. The required SubD15 cable to the Control Terminal is supplied with the Control Terminal. 6
