2 Preface About This Manual This manual explains how to operate RX Reader to control and configure unitech s RFID readers. 4 RX Reader Applications Chapter 1 Connection 1. Connect RFID Reader to the network. Click on Search in the window to look for the IP address of the device in the local area network. 1

5 2. The Search window will show the IP address. Select the IP address for the device, and then click on OK. The new IP address will be shown on the window. 2

6 3. Click on Connect to complete the connection. Relevant connection feedback will appear on the lower left field. RFID Reader version information will appear on the top of the window. 3

7 Program Structure 1. Tag Operation Inventory Run Inventory command to read Tag. The Inventory window contains: - NO / Current serial number - EPC / EPC information of this Tag - Count / Count read by this Tag - Data / Data read by this Tag - PC / The PC value by this Tag - RSSI / Signal strength with unit dbuv - RSSI Max / The maximum RSSI value - RSSI Min / The minimum RSSI value - Ant / Number of the antenna read - Time / The latest time to get the tag - Inventory Cycle / Cycles read by the antenna - Tag Count / The tag s count summation - Tag Numbers / The tags in the list - Save / Save listed Tag information - Clear / Clear the list 4

Read - Read Block information from Tag Write - Write information on Tag Write Any - Write on Tag within the range NOTE: The Read or Write command on Tag requires EPC ID in the EPC field, but Write Any does not. - Memory Bank Select field to read/write - Offset Offset of Read/Write - Length Length of data for Read, measured in word - Data Data to Write, measured in word - Password Access Password 5

10 2. Setup General Options Set the frequent-used options here. 7

11 - Profile Select the Profile to be used - Frequency Select Auto Change for Hopping mode and other options for constant frequency mode. - Timeout Waiting period after sending command to Reader - LLRP Retry Number of times to re-send LLRP command during Timeout Click on set to apply the settings above. Inventory Configuration - Tag Population Simple settings - Session Session settings for Reader - Algorithm Q-value algorithm for Reader - Q Value Starting Q-value for Reader, range: RSSI Filter Weed out Tags with signal strengths that are too low, range: 0~100. At 0 value, it is not filtered. - Flag Flag settings of Reader Click on set to apply the settings above. 8

12 Antenna - Sequence Set the sequence for using antennas - Shows data of the current 16 antennas. To change settings, double-click on the antenna to show setup window. 9

13 Power Level Sets power for antenna, range: 100 ~295 Dwell Time Sets operation time for an antenna in an Inventory command Inventory Round Sets operation rounds of an antenna in an Inventory command Status Turn antenna on/off Sequence When set to 0, antennas are used in the order of 1 to 16 NOTE: Both Dwell Time and Inventory Round cannot be 0. 10

14 - Enable All/Disable All Turns on/off all antennas - Cycle Up Number of antenna operation cycles in Inventory command. Set to 0 for unlimited number - Auto Detect Antenna Interval Interval for re-activation when antenna errors occur - Click on Modify to modify Cycle Up and Auto Detect Antenna Interval settings 3. Firmware Update Update : Start update RFID reader's firmware FTP IP : The FTP server's IP FTP File Path : The firmware file's path on FTP server FTP User: The FTP user account FTP Password : The FTP user's password The file on the FTP server is under the folder \RFIDReader and the file name is NK.bin. So the FTP File Path should be \ RFIDReader \NK.bin 14
