5 Installation of the Demo Program ID ISOStart Version 7.01 or higher Please install the Demoprogram ID ISOStart on your Windows PC using Setup.exe as described in the ISOStart manual (H e-ID.pdf) 5

6 Preparation of Hardware Connect the RS232 Interface with your PC using a RS232 cable Connect at least one UHF antenna with the first SMA antenna connector X1 X1 6

8 Preparation of Hardware The reader will be ready and initialized if the green LED s V1 and V6 are flashing LED V1 RF Controller LED V6 ACC Controller 8

9 Starting ISOStart Start the ISOStart demo program by double click on ISOStart.exe ISOStart will try to detect the connected reader automatically Select the reader and press the Next -button. The current reader configuration will be read automatically 9

10 Starting ISOStart How to get the default factory settings Click the Configuration -button Mark the top folder Complete Configuration Click 0x83 Reset while EEPROM is selected. Now the reader changes the reader setting into the factory settings. The reader is now set into the ISOHost Mode 10

11 Using ISOStart and EPC Global Function Reading an EPC class1 GEN2 transponder if the reader is set to the ISO Host Mode Fit one EPC class1 GEN2 Transponder in front of the antenna Press the EPC Global button Select EPC Class1 Test - One tag The EPC code will be dispayed 11

12 Using ISOStart and EPC Global Function Writing onto EPC class1 GEN2 transponder if the reader is set to the ISO Host Mode Choose for example Numerical Format and 96 bit EPC Write a new EPC Manager, Object and Serial No. The new EPC code will be displayed if the writing was successful 12

19 Using ISOStart and Buffered Read Mode Configuring the Antenna Multiplexing Choose CFG15 Antenna Multiplexing Enable -> Multiplexing if more than one antenna is connected Number of Output Channels -> Choose the number of connected antennas Press 0x83 Write into EEPROM Automatic antenna multiplexing is not available if the reader is set to ISO Host Mode 19

20 Using ISOStart and Buffered Read Mode Testing of Buffered Read Mode Press Buffered Read Mode button Press 0x33 Initialize to clear the whole buffer Hold a transponder into the antenna field Press 0x31 Buffer Info to get the info of number of data set. Press 0x22 Read to read the stored data sets Press 0x32 Clear to clear the already read data sets 20
