Completing this task will assist you through configuring the Linksys WAG54GP modem using the Linksys - WAG54GP Installation CD. Please refer to the Linksys - a WAG54GP user manual for instructions on how to complete a factory reset. What tools are used to complete the task? Linksys - WAG54GP modem, Linksys - WAG54GP User Manual, Linksys - WAG54GP Installation CD, Ethernet cable and a PC. Page of 0

2 With the PC running, insert the Installation CD into the appropriate drive and in the Welcome screen which appears, complete the following step: Click. Page of 0

3 In the End User License Agreement screen, complete the following steps: Read the Terms of the End User License Agreement. Click. Page 3 of 0

4 In the Disconnect the Modem from the PC screen, complete the following steps: Ensure you have disconnected all cables that connect your modem to the PC. Click. Page 4 of 0

5 In the Connect the Modem to the Router screen, complete the following steps: Ensure you have plugged the phone cable from the wall socket into the line port of the modem. Click. Page 5 of 0

6 In the Connect the Gateway to a PC screen, complete the following steps: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the PC. Click. Page 6 of 0

7 In the Connect the Gateway to a PC screen, complete the following steps: Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to one of the Gateway s ports numbered - 4. Click. Page 7 of 0

8 In the Power on the Gateway screen, complete the following steps: Connect the power adapter into the gateway power port. Plug the other end into an electrical outlet.. Ensure the power switch on the back of the modem is switched on. 9 In the Check the Gateway s Status screen, complete the following steps: Ensure the following lights are lit on the modem:. Power. DSL 3. Ethernet:, 3 or 4 At least one of the Ethernet LED lights for,,3 or 4 needs to be lit. Click. Page 9 of 0

11 Configuring User Details In the Configure DSL screen, complete the following steps: Enter the in the User ID field. Refer to the Settings Page on our website for the username format. 12 Configuring User Details In the Set the Gateway s Password screen, complete the following steps: Enter the new password in the Password field. Reenter the new password in the Confirm field. Note: This changes the password to access the modem from the manufacturers default settings. Once the new password is set the password admin will be invalid. 3 Click. 3 Page of 0

13 Disabling Wireless In the Wireless Settings screen, complete the following steps: In the Network Mode drop down menu select Disabled. Click. Page 3 of 0

17 Enabling Wireless In the Security Settings screen, complete the following steps: From the Security dropdown menu select the appropriate security. Refer to the User manual for further information on what security mode is best for your setup. Enter a password to the maximum of 3 characters in the Passphrase field. 3 Click. 4 A pass key will be generated in the Key field.
