3 2. Connecting units and cables Telephone sockets Computer Microfilters Note: You need a microfilter for every telephone in your home. Telephone cable Modem cable (violet) Modem DSL Off / On O / l Reset cable (yellow) Power sup Note for 4-pole telephone sockets: Connect the microfilter using an adapter (available from any Swisscom shop). 4 4 First switch the modem on and then the computer. Note: The telephone sockets can differ in appearance. 5 Wait until at least the following lamps light up on the modem: > «Power» > (one of the four lamps) > «Wireless» > «DSL» Telephone R Note: In the event of problems, please refer to the «Troubleshooting» section on the back of this manual. 6 Check whether your telephone is working. Can you hear a dialling tone? Follow Section «3. Registering DSL by Swisscom» on the back of this manual. > Are an existing Swisscom DSL customer, you can now > use the > set up WLAN in accordance with the attached manual «Setup WLAN».

5 For new Swisscom DSL customers only: 3. Registering DSL by Swisscom 1 Start your browser ( Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.). 2 The DSL registration page appears automatically in your browser. You will be guided through the registration process step by step. Complete all compulsory fields. If a progress bar is displayed, wait until this process has finished and then continue with registration. Note: If neither the registration page nor a progress bar is displayed, access the registration page by entering « in the address field of your browser and pressing the Enter key. Then continue with the registration. 3 At the end of the registration process, print out the datasheet and enter your Swisscom login data here: Username: Password: 4 After registration, you can set up a wireless connection (WLAN) on your computer. To do this, follow the instructions on the screen or the attached manual «Setup WLAN».

6 Troubleshooting > Is the «Power» lamp lit on the modem? No > Check whether your modem is switched on (Step 4). No > Check the power supply unit and mains connection (Step 3). > Is the «DSL» lamp lit on the modem? No > The DSL line is faulty or not yet connected. > Check the cabling between the modem, the ISDN/VDSL splitter and telephone socket (violet cable). > Check the connection date for the DSL connection in one of the letters you have received from Swisscom. > Is at least one lamp lit on the modem? No > Check whether your computer is switched on (Step 4). No > Check whether your computer is correctly connected to the modem (Step 3). > Are you using the supplied cables? No > Only use the supplied cables. > Is your access now working?
