This was supposed to be a short guide on how to replace the power supply on a desk as the directions I got were pretty rubbish I hit a few speed bumps along the way I thought this would be the case so I documented it all with photos so if anyone else ever needs to do this they have some idea of how it should go! Presonus will do this fix for free and did offer me the free fix but it was going to cost me over $700AUD to post it to them - Credit to them they organised Rode in Australia to fix it for me but it was still going to cost me just over $200 to get it there and I have 2 gigs this weekend with no backup! Rode were pretty good about the whole thing and sent me the power supply board that Presonus had sent them - it arrived today in the psot so I got to it From here on out I will give you a rough guide on how to perform the swap The offending board with Aux output noise put the mixer on its side and balance it in the shipping foam or whatever you have handy, remove the 3 screws on the side as indicated you need to give the side facia a good hit with something like a rubber hammer or the rubber handle of a large screwdriver - they slide forward about 1cm then lift off ( I had to encourage them off with a flat blade screwdriver )

I didnt take any pics here but you need to disconnect several cables so you can pull the control surface off - these are the only instructions I had 1. The large grey 20 pin ribbon cable which connects the control surface to the DSP board. 2. The small 3 pin cable which connects the control surface to the power board. 3. The two pin cable which connects the BNC lamp to the power board. This cable is usually also taped to the chassis. Remove the tape and pull the cable free of the chassis before you remove the control surface. 4. The film strip cable which connects the LCD module to the DSP board. 5. The small two pin cable cable just above the filmstrip cable which connects the LCD module to the DSP board. 6. The long grey 3 pin cable which connects the headphone jack to the DSP board. This cable should be disconnected from the DSP board by turning the open left side of themixer to face you. It will be easy to see the port that the cable connects to from this perspective. If you have a good look you will have no problems in locating them - you can now remove the control surface from the chassis

From here it should have beem smooth sailing took me about 20 minutes to get this far and 10 mins to put it all back together - I powered the desk up all the lights came on exept one - the backlight for the lcd - so I thought fine I must have missed a connection - I opened it back up and found the connector ( step 5 from the section above ) and it was plugged in. Now I got worried - I pulled out my multi meter and tested at the plug for voltage - good I got 3.88v signal to the backlight but still no backlight. Time to pull the lcd display out!!! From here on in I will only show photos as it gets a bit funky to pull the control board apart!
