2 MDT Authoringsystem Key Features graphical configuration of the diagnostic process support of standardized and proprietary communication protocols in one application high flexibility in the creation of graphical user interfaces and the diagnostic process A pool of visualization objects for the interface Tools to create, edit and manage ODX files Modular diagnostic tool (MDT) - A future-proof diagnostic tool chain The MDT is an innovative, comfortable diagnostics tool chain for the flexible creation of individual and complex diagnostic and service applications. The current application range, includes solutions for vehicle diagnostics, vehicle service, Flash tools, end-of-line programming (short EOL) for the automotive sector. Due to the modular design and the flexible configuration options, new applications can be created efficiently and reliably within a short time. The display options and program procedures are freely configurable. The advantages are the abstraction of ECU communication in the ODX format and the intuitive operation, which enables to create applications, without programming knowledge. Graphical configuration of the surface The surface can be created simply by using drag & drop. There are a number of standard controls, as well as 2D and 3D graphs available. The support for vector graphics provides an attractive design with different resolutions.
3 Intuitive graphical flow configuration The logical flow of diagnostics is configured graphically with a flowchart. This enables extremely flexible to configure even complex processes and to make them clearly and comfortably. In addition, the link of the CAN data takes place in this graphical programming, to connect the ODX-based signals with the interface elements. In addition, also user interfaces are configured. Integrated language database The integrated network-enabled language database allows on the one hand the parallel production of diagnostic applications based on a data base and on the other hand the simple export of data for the translation and the subsequent import. Use of ODX format for all data sources and data sinks The link of the vehicle parameters is carried out directly on the ECU data prepared in the ODX format, using matching ODX services, without requiring detailed knowledge of ECU communication. In addition, access to file systems, databases, and systems documentations are also realized with ODX. Parallel use of standardized and proprietary protocols MDT supports numerous international communication protocols. Currently there are already in addition to RAW-CAN support also CANopen, SAE J1939, ISO (KWP2000 on CAN), UDS and ISO11783 part 12 (ISOBUS) available. New communication standardized protocolls as well as the integration of proprietary protocols is easily possible due to the modular structure. A tool for different requirements in various fields Through its modular structure the MDT can be very flexibly used and optimally adapted to various customer-specific requirements. No matter whether in the automation or automotive industry, the tool can, for example be used, for the vehicle diagnostics, network management, calibration and configuration, service or Flash Tool, EOL software, CAN analyser software, authoring system or ODX Editor. Thus the MDT covers many areas of application, such as a service, production or development tool. The markets span over all manufacturers and suppliers of agricultural machinery, construction vehicles, municipal vehicles, commercial vehicles, cars and many more. This is in no way a standard diagnostics tool, by continuous enhancements to all functions a future-proofed and to the customer individually adapted diagnostic tool is ensured, which takes best into account the needs of our customers.
4 Simple extension of functionality The system offers the possibility both to appeal and control any data source and data sink as well as complex update routines or time-critical processes of ODX. Therefore the development environment and the run-time system must not be adjusted for this purpose. A standardized interface makes it possible to integrate your own processes in the system. MDT development environment and runtime system In the development of MDT, special emphasis was placed on user friendly work - both for developers and engineers. Therefore, the software has a development environment for the creation of diagnostic applications, as well as the run-time system for use directly on the vehicle. The creation of an application is done in three easy steps. First, it creates a database of the ECU data via ODX editor and customer-specific data (for example, from the control unit). This is then bound to the diagnosis project. Based on this data, an existing application or a new one can be developed. The generated application via a flexible Installer can be distributed for field use. The installer installs all required communication protocols and software modules required to process the data in addition to the application. The service technician can focus directly to one of the main jobs - efficient troubleshooting.
