AKITDA THINK CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY MODEL TO TACKLE E-SALES The All Kerala IT Dealers Association (AKITDA) had recently conducted their state convention here at a private club where they discussions related to forming a special co-operative society model for IT products were mooted. The association had their annual meet where members across the state participated. During the meeting, the newly elected members were introduced to the members across the state. To compete over the e-players, the association sought the need for a co-operative society model, All Kerala IT Dealers Association where all the members will work as one forum in terms of procurement so as to tackle the e-competition. The proposed new model might allow the channel partners get thick margins and the collective collaboration among the members will help the association discuss with the vendors on a better note. Also, the association has launched a revised service tariff across the state and requested the members to stick on to the new charges and avoid cost-cutting in the service divisions. Speaking on the event, P.G.Suresh also stressed for the need for having uniform service tariff across the state. Suresh said that the Government should give importance for the home-grown association members and consider them as an advisory body when it comes to implementation of IT across the state. He also acknowledged that the members in the AKITDA are better than anyone when it comes to any statewide implementation of any projects. Other than the key sessions, there were cultural programme round the day from various association members across the state. Also, the advertisers also exhibited their stalls in the event venue where all the latest products were displayed. The entire arrangement for the event was handled by AKITDA Ernakulam unit. CONFED-ITA TO CONDUCT MEET WITH VENDORS, DISTRIBUTORS Tamil Nadu based Confed-ITA Association has planned to have a meeting with vendors and distributors. The meeting is titled, GT2GT (Get together to grow together as is likely to attended by the vendors and distributors. Sujay Vijayan, Secretary of the association, tells, The association is likely to hold the meeting in a private hotel in Coimbatore. We had sent the invitations across the list of vendors and we expect participation from the vendors mainly in the laptop segments and we had extended the invitation to the national distributors association also. The objective of the meet is to come out with new some solutions / sugsuggestions which would be mutually beneficial for both the vendor as well as dealer community. The agenda would be to have a healthy interactive session where both sides should debate and finalize on certain policies., he further added. During the meeting some of the key aspects of the channel business including the service issues, dead-on-arrival and other pricing parity will also take part in the key discussions. The five key stakeholders of the IT industry, EOM, national distributor, regional distributors, resellers and service providers will discuss the issues that are hindering the growth of the channel industry. The association has conducted a similar meeting in 2011 where the members discussed the issue of those days.
