5 Setting up Bluetooth connection on printer with mobile devices and computers Before you begin Set up Bluetooth on printer Connect mobile device to printer via Bluetooth connection Connect computer to printer via Bluetooth connection Before you begin NOTE: Bluetooth printing is not supported for Mac devices including iphone and ipad. Ensure the following: USB port on printer is not disabled. Printershare or Printhand TM software application is installed on your mobile device. HP printer software is installed on your computer and the computer has USB or wireless connectivity. Set up Bluetooth on printer To set up Bluetooth on printer 1. Insert the Bluetooth dongle into the USB port of the printer. The following screen appears on the printer control panel. 2. Select Settings. The Bluetooth Settings screen appears. 6 Name: Bluetooth name for the printer. Discovery: On: Printer can be found from the client side. Off: Printer cannot be found from the client side. Passkey: Default printer passkey is shown, you can choose to change it. Print a Status Report: Print the status report of the printer. Restore Bluetooth Settings: Restore all Bluetooth settings to factory defaults. Connect mobile device to printer via Bluetooth connection To connect Android device to printer 1. On your printer, make sure Bluetooth is properly set up and Discovery is set to On. 2 Setting up Bluetooth connection on printer with mobile devices and computers ENWW

7 2. On your mobile device, turn on Bluetooth by touching Settings and selecting Bluetooth. 3. Touch Scan to find Bluetooth devices that are nearby. ENWW Connect mobile device to printer via Bluetooth connection 3

9 5. On the printer control panel, the Pairing Request screen appears. Check to ensure the Pairing Code matches with the code on your mobile device, and then select Pair/OK. Status screen appears to indicate pairing is in progress. 6. On your printer, when the screen appears to indicate pairing is successful, select OK/Close. 7. On your mobile device, open the Printershare or Printhand software application and use it to print. ENWW Connect mobile device to printer via Bluetooth connection 5

10 Connect computer to printer via Bluetooth connection To connect Windows 7 computer to printer 1. On your printer, make sure Bluetooth is properly set up and Discovery is set to On. 2. On your computer, make sure Bluetooth is turned on. Bluetooth should be version 3.0, 4.0, or 4.2. Click Start, select Control Panel, click View devices and printers, and then click Add a device. 6 Setting up Bluetooth connection on printer with mobile devices and computers ENWW

11 3. Select the printer, and then click Next. 4. On the printer control panel, the Pairing Request screen appears. Check to ensure the Pairing Code matches with the code on your computer, and then select Pair/OK. ENWW Connect computer to printer via Bluetooth connection 7

12 5. On your computer, check to ensure the pairing code displayed matches the code on the printer; make sure Yes is selected, and then click Next. 8 Setting up Bluetooth connection on printer with mobile devices and computers ENWW

13 6. When the screen appears to indicate pairing is successful, click Close. 7. On your printer, status screen appears to indicate pairing is in progress. ENWW Connect computer to printer via Bluetooth connection 9

14 8. On your printer, when the screen appears to indicate pairing is successful, select OK/Close. To connect Windows 10 computer to printer 1. On your printer, make sure Bluetooth is properly set up and Discovery is set to On. 2. On your computer, make sure Bluetooth is turned on. 15 3. Select the printer to pair, and then click Next. 4. When a screen appears to prompt for passcode, enter the correct printer passkey, and then click Next. The printer passkey can be located from the Bluetooth Settings screen on the printer control panel. ENWW Connect computer to printer via Bluetooth connection 11
