5 Version: V1.0 Page 5 of VGA & KB Cable INSTALLATION 1. When User needs using FWA-3305 VGA function, kindly install D-SUB Cable (P/N: ) in CN_VGA1 connector of FWA When User needs using FWA-3305 PS2 KB function, kindly install KB & MS Cable (P/N: ) in KBMS1 connector of FWA

6 Version: V1.0 Page 6 of HDD & HDD BRACKET INSTALLATION 1. Kindly get 6 pieces 6-32#*4.0L screws & HDD-BRACKET from accessory box 6-32#*4.0L screw 2. Please use screwdriver locking 6 screws to fix 3.5 SATA HDD in HDD bracket

9 Version: V1.0 Page 9 of CF Card INSTALLATION 1. Please install CF card in FWA-3305 CF socket, when user needs to take out CF card, please direct to press push rod

10 Version: V1.0 Page 10 of BIOS CONSOLE REDIRECTION SETTING 2.1 CONSOLE REDIRECTION FUNCTION INSTALL &SETTING 1. Default console redirection setting of FWA-3305 BIOS is COM1 (3F8, IRQ3), baud rate is ,8,n1, and Redirection after BIOS POST is Always. 2. If user needs using console-redirection function to install Linux n FWA-3305, please use RJ45 to console cable to connect FWA-3305 s Console port and Test PC s RS232 COM port, user may press F4 or del key into BIOS by console-redirection mode

11 Version: V1.0 Page 11 of CF CARD SETTING 3.1 CF CARD SETTING AND LINUX DEVICE NAME 1. FWA-3305 CF is direct connecting Intel ICH8M PATA bus. 2. Linux default will detect CF as /dev/hdx device

12 Version: V1.0 Page 12 of FWA-3305 UTILITY INSTALLATION AND SETTING 4.1. LCM utility 1. LCM utility tar is developed by RHEL/CentOS 5.X (kernel ); kindly test it under RHEL/CentOS 5.X. If customer needs using tar to test other distribution Linux (ex: Unbuntu/ Gentoo), it has to modify the source code of tar. 2. Kindly download tar from Advantech Web site, copy this file in RHEL/CentOS 5.X Linux and uncompress it 3. The test command of LCM display is I/O ADRESS is means Parallel port I/O, and string of Line 01/02 needs under the 16 characters. Example:

14 Version: V1.0 Page 14 of LAN bypass, WDT LAN bypass & WDT reset utility 1. Kindly download LANBypass_Sample_Code_03.tar.gz from Advantech Web side, and put it in FWA-3305 Linux system. 2. Please uncompress this file; and the folder of LANBypass_Sample_Code_03 has 11 files, it has utility s source code. 1. User may key-in./makefile to re-compiler test utility. 2. Please key in./lanbps, it will show test commend

15 Version: V1.0 Page 15 of WDT LAN bypass function. 1. It uses Winbond WDT function to control LAN bypass function; when time-out count is end, it will auto enable LAN bypass function. 2. Kindly set JWDT1 jumper as 2-3 (2-3: WDT LAN bypass) 3. The commend of WDT LAN bypass is./lanbps 0 2E XX (XX is mean 1~FF, unit is second). EX:WDT LAN test (ex:./lanbps 0 2E 05) FWA-3305 will auto enable LAN bypass function after 5 sec. 3. When WDT LAN bypass function enabled, it needs reboot system to replace WDT register

16 Version: V1.0 Page 16 of WDT reset function. 1. It uses Winbond WDT function to control WDT reset function; when time-out count is end, it will auto enable system reboot function. 2. Kindly set JWDT1 jumper as 1-1 (1-2: WDT Reset) 2. The commend of WDT LAN bypass is./lanbps 2 2E XX (XX is mean 1~FF, unit is minute ). EX: WDT reboot test (ex:./lanbps 0 2E 10) FWA-3305 will auto reboot after 16 sec

17 Version: V1.0 Page 17 of GPIO LAN bypass control function. 1. It uses SM_bus/GPIO to control bypass-relay to enable/disable LAN bypass function. 2. Kindly refer below photo, LAN bypass LAN pair definition is LAN1/LAN2 (Pair 1), LAN3/LAN4 (Pair 2), Mgmt1 & Mgmt2 are unable to support LAN bypass function 3. FWA-3305 LAN bypass provides 3 mode statuses. A. LAN By pass disabled / LAN connect mode (Status: RJ45 s Link LED and Switch Link LED are turn on) When LAN Bypass sets as disabled, FWA-3305 LAN function is work normally. Bypass relay is connecting LAN chip to RJ45. B. LAN bypass enabled mode (Status:RJ45 s Link LED is turn of. Switch Link LED is turn on) When LAN bypass sets as enabled, nearly dual LAN ports (LAN pair) will connect directly to avoid network broken, Bypass relay is connecting pair s RJ

18 Version: V1.0 Page 18 of 21 C. LAN disconnect mode (Status: RJ45 s Link LED and Switch Link LED are turn off) When LAN Bypass sets as disconnect, Bypass relay is disconnecting pair s RJ45 and LAN chip. RJ45 doesn t transfer any data from LAN chip or pair s RJ
