3 1. Introduction This Umbraco plugin has been built to integrate with the Umbraco CMS. It adds functionality to synchronize and export members automatically to Copernica for marketing purposes. Managing the plug-in settings can be done from within the CMS, as the plug-in adds a new section to the Umbraco back-office. The connection consists of two components: A settings screen where the user can manage their Copernica settings A dashboard with some status information about the plug-in The plug-in allows the user to synchronize members with one specific member type to one Copernica database. The plug-in only writes to the Copernica database, it does not delete members from the Copernica database. The extra properties of the selected member type will be available in the Copernica database, however only the properties that exist during initialization will be synchronized. Changes to the member type will not be synchronized to the Copernica database. 3 / 8

4 2. Installation 1. Log in at the Umbraco backend/cms with a user that can access the developer section, for example with the admin user. 2. Go to the developer section and expand Packages, click on the node Install local package. 3. Read the warning and select the checkbox, browse to the Copernica_1.0.zip with the File Chooser dialog box and click the Load Package button. 4 / 8

5 4. A new page will pop up with additional package information, accept the licence and click the Install Package button. 5. After step 4 the package should have succesfully been installed, now we need to give permissions to the user(s) that is/are allowed to access the new Copernica section. Navigate to the Users section, expand the users and select the user to give permissions. Select the checkbox before the [copernica] section and save the user. 5 / 8

6 6. Log in as the user with persmissions or refresh the whole page if you gave the current user permissions, Umbraco doesn t reload the sections automatically. After refreshing a new section will appear. 7. Go to the new Copernica section, click settings and fill in the Copernica settings fields and save the settings. (Soap API URL, Username, Password and Account Name). 8. Select which member type to synchronize with Copernica in the MemberType dropdownlist. 9. Click on the Create database button, this action may take a while and will return with a result message pop-up. 10. After creating the database it is possible to sync the existing members by clicking on the Sync current Umbraco members with the Copernica database. 11. Every newly created and every changed member with the given MemberType will be synced with the Copernica database automatically. 6 / 8

7 3. Copernica section After installing the Umbraco package a new Copernica section will be available at the Umbraco back-end, which can be identified by the Copernica logo. The Copernica section consists of a Dashboard page which shows status information about the package. Next to that there will be a Settings page, on that page users can fill in their Copernica account information. 7 / 8
