3 1.1 CONFIGURING TRIXBOX-PRO WITH THE ITSP (THINKTEL) This Chapter explains how to configure the SIP-TRUNK connection between the FONALITY trixbox-pro and the telephone service provider THINKTEL COMMUNICATIONS. The Primary way to connect the trixbox-pro Server to the outside world is via IP connection and a SIP account called SIP-TRUNK. THINKTEL COMMUNICATIONS as a VOIP Provider gives you an account with accompanying credentials (username password Proxy IP Address) Montreal/IOT/ /12

4 1.2 LOGGING IN TO THE TRIXBOX-PRO Log in to the trixbox-pro Web Access, trixbox-pro IP Address / Enter the Username and the Password provided by Fonality Montreal/IOT/ /12

5 1.3 CONFIGURATION OF THINKTEL SIP-TRUNK Navigate to Options >> and select VoIP Click on Advanced Enter the following parameters - Route Name : e.g Thinktel - Provider : Other - Username : username provided by thinktel usually the pilot SIP-TRUNK Number - Password : xxxxxxxxx provided by Thinktel - Register : No ( Thinktel doesn t require any Registration) - Server : provided by Thinktel tor.trk.tprm.ca or edm.trk.tprm.ca - All other parameters are Optional Click on Add VoIP Account Montreal/IOT/ /12

6 1.4 CONFIGURATION OF A DIAL PLAN Navigate to Options >> and select Dial Plan Fonality recommend to use 9 as the default dial out prefix, however it is possible to adjust this dial out prefix by browsing to Options >> Settings >> Call Routing Settings >> Change Dial Out Prefix On the dial String Enter nxxnxxxxxx On Name Enter Canada USA On Type Enter long distance On Route Enter VoIP:Thinltel On Strip Digists Enter 1(default) NB : x = any single digit from 0 to 9 Z = any single digit from 1 to 9 N = any signle digit from 2 to 9. = any number of digits (at least 1 digit)! = any number of digits (including no digits) Montreal/IOT/ /12

7 1.5 MAKING OUTGOING CALL THROUGH THINKTEL SIP-TRUNK In order to start calling from the trixbox-pro you should add a Phone and then add a User ADDING A PHONE Navigate to Users/Extensions >> Phones On MAC Enter the Mac Address of the Phone On Vendor Choose any of the selected vendors or choose Other for other vendors On Description Enter The description for example Iphone Click on Add Device Montreal/IOT/ /12

8 1.5.2 ADDING A USER Navigate to Users/Extensions >> Add User Click on add user Click on I want to add a new user and a new extension Montreal/IOT/ /12

9 Fill the Personal Information, Choose a web username and a password You can enable a Voic and choose a password The extension number is chosen by the system, it can be modified Click on Add User and Extension On The Phone / Devices Choose the Phone to be added Click on Apply All Changes Now you are able Montreal/IOT/ /12

10 1.5.3 ADDING A DID Navigate to Users/Extensions >> Phone Numbers On Add Phone Number Enter the DID on Number On Type Enter VoIP On Description Enter Manager Phone Per Example Click on Add Phone Number Montreal/IOT/ /12

11 1.5.4 ASSIGNING A DID TO A PHONE Navigate to Users/Extensions >> View users >> Routing and Appearance Settings On Inbound Phone No Enter your DID Number On Outbound Caller-ID Enter the Caller-ID Click On Apply All Changes Now you can make an inbound call to the DID Montreal/IOT/ /12

12 2 ROUTER/FIREWALL 2.1 ROUTER/FREWALL CONFIGURATION For trixbox-pro to communicate successfully with Thinktel SIP-TRUNK through a NAT network, you have to make sure that your Router or your Firewall is forwarding the following ports to private IP Address of the trixbox-pro Port Direction TCP UDP Usage SIP In/Out No Yes SIP Ports IAX2 In/Out No Yes IAX Trunk 80 In Yes No Web In/Out No Yes RTP Montreal/IOT/ /12
