Midrange Workload License Charge Midrange Workload License Charge (MWLC) pricing is an option for those running z/vse V4.1 in a System z9 EC or z9 BC server environment. Customers may implement MWLC in full-capacity or sub-capacity mode. z/vse V4.1 includes a IBM Europe Announcement ZP IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 2

new sub-capacity measurement function, called CMT (Capacity Measurement Tool). CMT is designed to periodically measure the rolling 4-hour average utilization of each z/vse V4.1 image. For a detailed description of MWLC and sub-capacity pricing, including applicable terms and conditions, restrictions, processes, and procedures, refer to ZA , dated January 9, Exploitation of IBM System z technology z/vse V4.1 is designed to bring the value of selected, innovative System z technology to you. z/architecture mode and 64-bit real addressing: z/vse V4 executes in z/architecture mode only and supports 64-bit real addressing for selected system functions. z/vse V4.1 is designed to exploit up to 8 GB of processor storage. z/vse V4 is not designed to support 64-bit virtual addressing. Individual virtual address or data spaces remain limited to 2 GB. z/vse V4 is not designed to allow 64-bit addressing for user applications. Support for 64-bit real addressing may help you exploit more of the large processor storage available on even the smallest System z9 servers. For example, you may be able to exploit larger address spaces (but the 2 GB limit for each address space still applies). You may choose to utilize "data-in-memory" techniques such as CICS Shared Data Tables, VSE Virtual Disk, or more and larger buffer pools. In addition, customers with especially large z/vse environments may experience lower paging rates. In fact, many z/vse environments may be able to run without a page data set at all (the NOPDS option). z/vse V4 exploitation of z/architecture and 64-bit real addressing is designed to be transparent to user applications. CP Assist for Cryptographic Function (CPACF): CPACF is a no-charge optional feature of System z9, z990, and z890 servers. It provides an "on processor" function designed to accelerate symmetric cryptographic operations. CPACF on z9 EC and z9 BC servers has been enhanced to support Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for 128-bit keys. When available, z/vse V4.1 is designed to support SSL using AES for 128-bit keys. TCP/IP for VSE/ESA is designed to transparently use AES for 128-bit keys. If the hardware is not available, the operations are implemented by software. z/vse V4.1 e-business Connectors support AES for 128-bit keys in addition to DES, T-DES (triple DES) encryption / decryption. Note: This function will not be available at z/vse V4.1 general availability. The function is planned to be delivered later via PTF. If you plan to use this function, check the z/vse Web site after GA for the latest status. As with other features with sensitive security implications, depending on the geographic location, U.S. export/import restrictions may apply. Configurable Crypto Express2: With the configurable capability, the Crypto Express2 can be dynamically configured in either coprocessor or accelerator mode. Both modes are designed to enhance the performance of RSA operations. RSA operations typically occur during SSL session initialization. Faster RSA operations may help reduce CP usage and/or increase SSL throughput. Compared to coprocessor mode, the accelerator mode is designed to improve SSL performance by speeding up RSA operations even more. The exploitation of Crypto Express2 in either mode is expected to be transparent to applications. The configurable capability of the Crypto Express2 adapter is unique to z9 EC and z9 BC servers. On z990 and z890 servers, only the coprocessor mode is supported. z/vse V3.1 and later support the Crypto Express2 feature both in coprocessor and accelerator mode. Exploit 2048-bit RSA keys with Crypto Express2: z/vse V4.1 is designed to support 2048-bit RSA keys in addition to 512-bit and 1024-bit RSA keys. TCP/IP for VSE/ESA is designed to transparently use 512-bit and 1024-bit RSA keys. When no cryptographic hardware is available, the RSA operations are performed by the software. TCP/IP for VSE/ESA 2048-bit RSA key support requires a Crypto Express2 adapter in either IBM Europe Announcement ZP IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 3

coprocessor or accelerator mode. z/vse V4.1 e-business Connectors are designed to support 2048-bit RSA keys in addition to 512-bit and 1024-bit RSA keys. z/vse supports clear key RSA operations only. FICON Express4: FICON Express4 is a new generation of FICON channels that supports auto-negotiated speeds of 1, 2, and 4 Gbps. FICON Express4 is exclusive to the System z9. It is available with 2-port and 4-port cards. However, the 2-port card is available only for the z9 BC. FICON Express4 adapters offer two modes of operation: Native FICON and FICON Channel-to-Channel (CTC) traffic (CHPID type FC) Fibre Channel Protocol traffic (CHPID type FCP) The exploitation of FICON Express4 is expected to be transparent to applications. FICON Express4 feature (in both modes) is supported by z/vse V3.1 and later. Open Systems Adapter-Express2 1000BASE-T Ethernet: OSA-Express2 1000BASE-T Ethernet adapter is a new feature in the OSA-Express2 family. It provides additional connectivity options. The feature supports four modes of operation: 1. OSA-Integrated Console Controller (OSA-ICC) for TN3270E and non-sna DFT 3270 emulation (CHPID type OSC) 2. Queued Direct Input/Output (QDIO) for TCP/IP traffic (CHPID type OSD) 3. Non-QDIO for SNA/APPN /HPR and/or TCP/IP traffic (CHPID type OSE) 4. OSA-Express2 OSN (OSA for NCP) (CHPID type OSN) When this feature is used in OSA-ICC mode, or for TCP/IP traffic, it is compatible with previous OSA-Express2 / OSA-Express features. The OSA-Express2 1000BASE-T Ethernet adapter is supported by z/vse V3.1 and later in all four modes of operation. OSA-Express2 OSN (Open System Adapter for NCP) support: The IBM Communication Controller for Linux on System z (CCL) is software that emulates IBM 3745 hardware. It provides a platform to run the Network Control Program (NCP) software product under Linux on System z. This capability enables a migration path to move NCP-based workloads from the IBM 3745 Communication Controller to IBM System z servers. Using OSA-Express2 OSN support, the OSA Express2 adapter appears to z/vse as if it were a channel-attached 374x Communication Controller. OSA-Express2 OSN support allows customers to configure, manage, and operate CCL NCP environments as if they ran in a real channel-attached 374x Communication Controller. With OSN support, you use internal connectivity instead of a LAN connection to CCL, which can help reduce complexity. OSA-Express2 OSN (CHPID Type OSN) is supported by OSA-Express2 Gigabit and 1000BASE-T Ethernet features. It is exclusive to IBM System z9 EC and z9 BC servers. Support for OSA-Express2 OSN is available with z/vse V3.1 and later. Up to 60 LPARs: Support for up to 60 LPARs is available on IBM System z9 EC servers. These additional LPARs may provide additional configuration flexibility. Support for up to 60 LPARs is available with z/vse V3.1 and later. N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV): NPIV for Fibre Channel Protocol channels (CHPID type FCP) is designed to allow sharing of a single physical FCP channel among operating system images, whether in Logical Partitions (LPARs), or as guest images in z/vm virtual machines. With NPIV, multiple virtual FCP channels can be defined, each with its own unique Fibre Channel port name and FC N_Port ID. An operating system like z/vse can use virtual FCP channels as if they were using dedicated physical FCP channels. NPIV also allows sharing of the Lock file on a SCSI disk between multiple z/vse systems using one physical FCP channel. Without NPIV, each z/vse system would need its own physical FCP channel to access the Lock file. To utilize NPIV, the Fibre Channel switch to which the FCP channel attaches must support NPIV. NPIV support may help provide cost reduction and allow better access control. NPIV is exclusive IBM Europe Announcement ZP IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 4

to z9 EC and z9 BC. NPIV support is available with z/vse V3.1 and later. FCP point-to-point attachments: A FICON feature configured as CHPID type FCP can directly attach to storage devices (point-to-point connection), without the need for an intermediate Fibre Channel switch or director. z/vse V4.1 is designed to support point-to-point connections for FCP-attached SCSI disks. This may allow a lower-cost configuration since it can eliminate the need for a switch. Program-directed re-ipl: Program-directed re-ipl allows an operating system running natively in an LPAR to trigger re-ipl. Program-directed re-ipl is exclusive to z9 EC and z9 BC. z/vse V4.1 is designed to support program-directed re-ipl for FCP-attached SCSI disks. This allows an automatic z/vse installation on FCP-attached SCSI disks without operator intervention to re-ipl the z/vse system. Device qualification for DS6000 and DS8000: FCP-attached SCSI disks in an IBM System Storage DS6000 or DS8000 are qualified to be used with z/vse V3.1 and later. Exploitation of IBM System Storage technology z/vse V4.1 is also designed to support selected IBM System Storage products and features. Innovative IBM System Storage technology may offer significant value to z/vse customers. IBM System Storage TS1120 Tape Drive encryption feature: Physical tapes are often used for backup and for exchange with agencies and business partners. Typically, at some point these tapes, with their sensitive data, leave the internal environment. They may be exposed to accident, loss, or theft. Good business practice, a growing number of government mandates, and simple respect for customer privacy may require that the data be protected. Encryption can be an effective method to help protect this data. The IBM System Storage TS1120 Tape Drive (Machine Type 3592 Model E05) provides customers with an option of using innovative, drive-based data encryption. The encryption capability is now standard on all new TS1120 Tape Drives. It is a chargeable upgrade feature for existing installed TS1120 Tape Drives. A separate IBM Encryption Key Manager (EKM) component for the Java platform is also available. This EKM supports the generation, communication, and storage of encryption keys for TS1120 Tape Drives across the enterprise. The TS1120 Tape Drive is designed to provide you with a flexible solution that supports encryption and key management across a variety of environments, with a single point of control for all encryption keys. Drive-based encryption capability can help you protect tape data in a cost-effective way. When available, z/vse V4.1 is designed to support Systems Managed Encryption with the IBM System Storage TS1120. z/vse V4.1 support will require the EKM component running on another operating system other than z/vse. Note: This function will not be available at z/vse V4.1 general availability. The function is planned to be delivered later via PTF. If you plan to use this function, check the z/vse Web site after GA for the latest status. For z/vse V3.1 see ZG , dated August 29, IBM System Storage TS1120 Tape Controller: The TS1120 Tape Controller is the successor to the IBM 3592 Model J70 Tape Controller. It offers ESCON and FICON attachment of either IBM Systems Storage TS1120 or TotalStorage 3592 J1A Tape Drives. z/vse V3.1 and later support the IBM System Storage TS1120 Tape Controller. IBM Virtualization Engine TS7700: The IBM Virtualization Engine TS7700 is the successor to the IBM TotalStorage Virtual Tape Server (VTS). The TS7700 Virtualization Engine is designed to optimize tape processing and enhance performance. It may help reduce the total cost of ownership for tape processing. z/vse V3.1 and later support the IBM Virtualization Engine TS7700. IBM System Storage TS3500 Tape Library: IBM System Storage TS3500 Tape Library is designed to provide a highly scalable automated tape library. IBM Europe Announcement ZP IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 5

z/vse V3.1 and later support the IBM System Storage TS3500 Tape Library. IBM System Storage DS8000 / DS K cylinder support: z/vse V4.1 is designed to exploit the Large Volume Support (LVS) of IBM System Storage DS8000, DS6000, and TotalStorage ESS. z/vse V4.1 will support disks that are defined as 3390 ECKD with a size of up to 64K cylinders. Interoperability Improvements z/vse V4.1 continues the VSE focus on interoperability and service-oriented architecture (SOA). The latest information and code updates for selected VSE e-business connectors can be found on the z/vse Web site at Standards: Java-based VSE e-business connectors have been updated to support the JDK 1.5 (Java5) standard. For z/vse V3.1 customers, connectors updated to the JDK 1.5 standard can be downloaded from the z/vse Web site. Back up VSE data using Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM): Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) is an IBM software product that allows you to back up and restore data over the network. TSM manages the storage and controls where the backup data is stored. TSM manages several storage pools. A storage pool can reside on disk or on tape. An administrator can set up rules on how these storage pools are used, and when data is migrated from one pool to another. The VSE VTAPE function is used to enable users to back up VSE data to TSM. Only remote VTAPEs are supported. Data may be encrypted before it is sent over the network to the TSM server. Traditional backup jobs on VSE are expected to run almost unchanged. TSM runs on a wide selection of platforms, including Linux on System z. It is already available at many customer sites. That means z/vse V4.1 can be integrated into either new or existing TSM-controlled backup environments. This function is available for z/vse V3.1 and later. For more information on Tivoli Storage Manager, refer to the Web site at VSAM Capture exit: The VSAM Capture exit is part of the VSAM Redirector. It captures changes to a specific VSAM cluster (UPDATE/INSERT/DELETE). This VSAM Capture exit then creates a "delta record" and stores it in another, probably smaller, VSAM cluster (that is, a "delta file"). The delta record contains the changed record plus information about when (timestamp) and by whom (partition, phase name, origin value, and so on) the record was changed. These delta records can be processed later by another program or system. For example: Some customers who now send a complete VSAM file (including information that did not change) via FTP to a remote site each night may choose to FTP only the smaller delta file instead. This may help reduce network traffic as well as the processing at each site. A program at a remote site may use the Java-based VSAM Connector to access the delta file and retrieve changed records. This may help ensure that remote data is synchronized with the master copy on z/vse in near real time. Some customers may choose to back up an entire VSAM file to tape just once each week, then back up only the delta file nightly. This may help reduce tape processing and handling. Alternatively, the VSAM Capture exit can be used to create an MQ Message. For example, a trigger program might be used to process these MQ Messages in order to maintain the currency of a remote database, or to initiate remote processing based on the changed data. Enhancements to VSAM Redirector: Prior to z/vse V4.1, the VSAM Redirector was limited to one database table per VSAM cluster. In addition, only very simple data mapping was supported. This enhancement removes certain restrictions and adds support for automatic normalization of the data while redirecting. For example, every record type can now be redirected to its own table. In addition, more data types (like date and time fields) are supported. A new handler has been developed that enables the new functions. However, the existing handler is still provided for IBM Europe Announcement ZP IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 6

compatibility and migration reasons. VTAPE enhancements: z/vse V4.1 offers several VTAPE enhancements: Allow user labels for VSAM ESDS When VTAPE is used with a VSAM file, the DLBL name of the VSAM ESDS cluster must be specified. Prior to z/vse V4.1, the DLBL used for VTAPE could not be defined within the same job that uses the VTAPE command (unless the job runs in BG). With this enhancement the DLBL to be used with VTAPE can now be defined in the job where the VTAPE is invoked. That means a single job can 1) define the cluster, 2) define the label, and 3) use VTAPE with this DLBL. This enhancement is designed to make it easier to deal with VSAM VTAPEs and to allow smoother integration into existing job streams. Additional VTAPE enhancements A new VTAPE QUERY command has been added. It shows the relationship between tape units and tape image files. VTAPE can be used for PTF application. This can be especially helpful for those who select the electronic delivery option for z/vse V4.1. VTAPE support has been added to II dialogs, including Backup / Restore dialogs, PTF application, and problem handling. EZA application programming interfaces: Prior to z/vse V4.1, both the EZASMI Macro Interface and the EZASOKET Call Interface were based upon the LE/C Socket interface. The LE/C Socket interface required an LE runtime environment. In z/vse V4.1 the LE requirement has been eliminated. As a result, the EZASMI Macro Interface and the EZASOKET Call Interface can now be called from any environment, LE or non-le. CICS online applications may now use the EZA interfaces from non-le-enabled programs as well. The change is expected to be transparent to application programs. Component changes Basic operating system and component improvements are often driven by requests submitted by customers and/or user groups. z/vse V4.1 endeavors to address many of these requests. This section cannot cover each and every improvement. However, a few examples are described below. See the z/vse V4.1 Planning Manual for additional improvements as well as for more details on those shown below. Note: Although z/vse is the successor to IBM's VSE/ESA product, many functions and related products may continue to use VSE/ESA in their names. Security enhancements: The Basic Security Manager (BSM) has been enhanced to support more detailed logging and reporting of access to resources protected by the BSM control file. Signon and signoff to CICS or in batch jobs (user ID and password in POWER job card or ID statement) will be recorded for users defined in the VSE Control File. Access to resources will be recorded as defined in the RACROUTE request and in the resource profiles stored in the BSM Control File. From these records the BSM report writer builds a detailed report and certain summary reports. VSE/POWER enhancements VSE/POWER allows batch jobs to create "duplicate" and "master" queue entries by using new operands of * $$ LST/PUN statements. The master queue entry owns the spooled data. Duplicate queue entries address the same spooled data but carry different characteristics for example, different printing or network destinations. For an existing list and punch queue entry, a new VSE/POWER PCOPY command can be used to create a duplicate queue entry while the original queue entry becomes the master queue entry. Through the use of new operands in * $$ LST/PUN statements, or with the PALTER command, a time period (days and hours) can be specified. Once the time period expires, the queue entry is automatically deleted by VSE/POWER. The output from a POFFLOAD command can be appended to the output of a previous POFFLOAD command of the same queue type through the use of a new APPEND operand. For hardware requirements, refer to the VSE/POWER manuals. Language Environment for z/vse: A number of enhancements have been incorporated into LE for z/vse to address user and vendor submitted requirements, usability, and z/os affinity issues. IBM Europe Announcement ZP IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 7

LE for z/vse now has the ability to display CICS Default Run-Time options via AR command. A number of new LE for z/vse Callable Services and C functions, and improvements to the CLER transaction have been provided, and macros and programming samples have been introduced and/or enhanced. For example, LE for z/vse now allows extraction of run-time environment information (at assembly time). LE for z/vse can retrieve, set, modify, or delete environment variables from non-c applications, get information about the system or subsystem, delay processing in millisecond increments, or simply allow consistent operation in a CICS environment. There are also improvements to storage initialization issues (of particular interest to PL/I users) and messages. In addition, LE for z/vse now offers support for PL/I fetchable modules to subsequently fetch other PL/I fetchable modules combined with improvements in the Inter-language Communication (ILC) area. Note: Although the official name of the Language Environment component is now Language Environment for z/vse (LE for z/vse), technical documents (manuals), may still refer to LE for z/vse as Language Environment for VSE/ESA, LE/VSE Version 1 Release 4 Modification 5, or LE/VSE V Single supervisor generation: Complexity can be reduced shipping a single supervisor ($$A$SUPI) only. This supervisor provides support for 1024 devices. All supervisor generation options have been dropped. When generating a supervisor only default values will be accepted. The TRKHLD parameter can now be specified as part of the IPL SYS command. SDAID enhancements: To aid in problem determination, a new OSAX trace type has been added to trace requests against an OSA Express link. High Level Assembler for z/os, z/vm, and z/vse V1.5: The HLASM allows to use either work files or partition storage for HLASM compilations. TCP/IP for VSE/ESA: When available, TCP/IP for VSE/ESA will offer SecureFTP. SecureFTP support uses the SSL standard to provide user authentication, privacy, and integrity for commands and data transmitted by FTP clients and servers running on z/vse. TCP/IP for VSE/ESA is designed to transparently exploit Crypto Express2 for asymmetric encryption (RSA) and CPACP for symmetric encryption (for example, TDES and AES-128) when available on the server. When the hardware assists are not available, a software implementation is used instead (except for 2048-bit RSA key support). Note: Support for SecureFTP and AES for 128-bit keys will not be available at z/vse V4.1 general availability. The functions are planned to be delivered later via PTF. If you plan to use these functions, check the z/vse Web site after GA for the latest status. TCP/IP for VSE/ESA contains the functionality of TCP/IP Service Pack E. ACF/VTAM for VSE/ESA V4.2: ACF/VTAM now provides 31-bit I/O buffer support. With this function, ACF/VTAM can move I/O buffers into 31-bit System Getvis storage. This relieves 24-bit System Getvis storage and can allow z/vse customers to grow their communication workloads. ACF/VTAM 31-Bit I/O buffer support is also available with z/vse V3.1 plus related PTFs. CICS Transaction Server for VSE/ESA V1.1.1: To protect existing customer investments in older CICS technology, z/vse V4.1 will continue to ship CICS/VSE V2.3 along with CICS TS for VSE/ESA at no additional charge. Product positioning A primary objective of z/vse Version 4 is to help you protect your extensive investments in the VSE platform. A second goal is to help you integrate z/vse into the overall IT network. A third aim is to help enable you extend existing VSE application solutions by exploiting and leveraging Linux on System z (or any other platform you prefer). z/vse Version 4 is designed for VSE customers with growth opportunities. "Growth" may be generated by some combination of: VSE workload Added volumes, new users, and new or enhanced core applications Associated IT activity (such as application development/maintenance, test, backup, printing, and file transfer) IBM Europe Announcement ZP IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 8

Linux workload New solutions (such as applications based on WebSphere Application Server and DB2 Universal Database ) New line-of-business applications (such as ERP and CRM) Infrastructure simplification, including consolidation of existing distributed workload (such as file/print servers, mail, firewalls, and DNS) Associated application development and test Protect z/vse V4.1 can help you protect your existing investment in core VSE applications, data, and IT skills, as well as business processes and end-user training. For example, support for IBM server and storage technology may help you benefit from innovative new IBM technology such as hardware assisted encryption. New MWLC pricing metrics and granular sub-capacity pricing may help lower the Total Cost of Ownership. z/vse V4.1 is designed to help protect your investments by focusing on compatibility. For example, support for z/architecture is designed to be transparent to user applications. In addition, you can use the Fast Service Upgrade (FSU) process to move quickly from z/vse V3.1 or VSE/ESA V2.7 to z/vse V4.1. Integrate z/vse V4 can be used alone, or in combination with other platforms. Indeed most IT systems today consist of several different platforms that must work together. Flexible integration is possible through the use of open and industry standards. For example, with support for SOAP and XML in z/vse V4.1, existing VSE logic can be encapsulated and "published" using the service-oriented architecture (SOA) model. In addition, IBM middleware such as CICS Transaction Gateway, Host on Demand and Host Application Transformation Services (HOD/HATS), WebSphere MQ, and DB2 Connect can help open up data and logic contained in existing core VSE systems. z/vse V4.1 offers additional integration tools including VSE e-business connectors such as VSAM Connector, VSAM Redirector, and "virtual tape" (VTAPE). Integrated solutions may consist of an IBM System z mainframe server running z/vse V4.1, plus your choice of any Java-capable server. For example, because integration is based on standards, the companion platform may be any IBM server (or equivalent) including: IBM System z (the same or a different server with z/os, z/vse, or Linux) IBM System p (AIX 5L or Linux) IBM System x (Windows or Linux) IBM System i (i5/os or Linux) IBM BladeCenter (AIX 5L, Windows, or Linux) Extend Of course, in the normal course of events, new application solutions are needed in response to changing business challenges. z/vse V4.1 offers you a security-rich and robust platform for traditional batch and online transaction processing (OLTP) applications. Customers may find the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for z/vse V4 to be quite attractive. For many new applications (for example, Web application serving, data warehouse, infrastructure, and so on), Linux on System z may be considered. Linux is a significant and growing presence in the IT industry. It provides a robust, low-cost platform along with an expanding list of IT solutions, including open source applications, as well as priced applications provided by Independent Software Vendors. In addition, Linux and Java skills may be readily available. You may find the combination of z/vse V4.1 and Linux on System z to be a compelling environment for delivering modern, flexible IT solutions. By exploiting this mutually complementary environment, you may profit from the Linux platform, yet retain the best features and benefits of the z/vse V4 platform. Leveraging the combination of z/vse V4.1 and Linux on System z may help lower the cost, disruption, and risk of new, on demand solutions. The combination of z/vse V4.1 and Linux on System z may also help increase productivity and lessen time-to-market for delivering new solutions. IBM Europe Announcement ZP IBM is a registered trademark of International Business Machines Corporation 9

For example, an especially attractive environment might consist of: z/vse running on "standard" Central Processor (CP) engines, and linked via HiperSockets to Linux on System z (running under z/vm) on one or more Integrated Facility for Linux (IFL) specialty engines This powerful, open, and flexible model fits well with the innovative IBM System z9 Enterprise Class and z9 Business Class servers. You may be able to simplify your IT infrastructure using Linux on System z as well. Infrastructure simplification may result in lower overall costs based on an analysis of TCO. If, for whatever reason, you prefer a platform other than Linux on System z, the hybrid model (that is, z/vse V4 plus a companion platform) can work as well. Interoperability based on open and industry standards is the key. z/vse V4.1 can be combined with any Java-capable platform (for example, System p with AIX 5L, or System x with Windows) to provide a modern, competitive IT environment. Hardware and software support services SmoothStart /installation services SmoothStart and Installation Services are not provided.
