He has the responsibility for driving long term product technical strategy, as well as enabling innovative client projects involving System z. He joined IBM in Poughkeepsie in 1983 and during his career has had positions in a variety of product development disciplines, primarily focused on IBM large systems. In January 2004, Mark was appointed Vice President, System z Hardware Products with the responsibility for the development and launch of the hardware products within the System z Portfolio. In January of 2007, Mark was appointed Vice President of System z Technical Support and in March of 2009 added the Chief Technology Officer responsibilities to his role. Ray Jones IBM Vice President Worldwide zseries Software Sales Ray Jones is the Vice President of System z Software Worldwide Sales for IBM's Software Group. He has responsibility for IBM s mainframe middle ware software solutions portfolio, including sales and pricing strategies and methodologies, and overall customer relationships and satisfaction. Prior to his current position, he was a member of the core strategic team that created the modern IBM software business, now called IBM Software Group, which continues to be a major contributor to IBM's revenues and profitability. He has also served as Controller for IBM Software Group, and as Chief Financial Officer of the System i and p divisions in IBM's Systems Technology Group. His earlier experience includes IBM executive positions in development, pricing, and marketing. Ray travels extensively to meet with System z clients, and has advised more than 1000 leading companies on mainframe technology, total cost of ownership, and the strategic business value of mainframe solutions for driving competitive advantage. Alex Louwe Kooijmans is a project leader with the International Technical Support Organization (ITSO) in Poughkeepsie, NY, and specializes in SOA technology and solutions on System z.

2 Technical Agenda Speakers Biography Alex Louwe Kooijmans IBM ITSO Project Leader, Java, SOA and application modernization on System z Alex is not actually speaking in the Nordics, he is the SME speaker leader, leading and coordinating the entire speaker agenda. We are therefore recognizing him in the biographies. Alex Louwe Kooijmans is a project leader with the International Technical Support Organization (ITSO) in Poughkeepsie, NY, and specializes in SOA technology and solutions on System z. He also specializes in application modernization and transformation on z/os, both from an architecture and a tooling perspective. He has organized various marketing, education and technical sales seminars, forums and road shows around the world in relation to System z. Previously he worked as a Client IT Architect in the Financial Services sector with IBM in The Netherlands, advising financial services companies on IT issues such as software and hardware strategy and on demand. Alex has also worked at the Technical Marketing Competence Center for zseries and Linux in Boeblingen, Germany, providing support to customers starting up with Java and WebSphere on System z. From 1997 to 2000, Alex completed a previous assignment with the ITSO, managing various IBM Redbooks projects and delivering workshops around the world. Andy Wright CICS Software Developer Andy Wright has worked for IBM for 24 years. He is a Senior Software Engineer and IBM Master Inventor. He works in the CICS Change Team at the IBM Software Laboratories at Hursley in the United Kingdom. During his career he has worked on all CICS releases since CICS/OS/VS He has written extensively about CICS and software, and worked on a number of projects and Redbooks with the ITSO, in Europe and the USA. He actively encourages innovation and runs many invention disclosure team discussions within IBM. 2

Charles Webb IBM Fellow - System z Processor Design and Hardware Architect Charles Webb has been with IBM in Poughkeepsie since 1983, and has worked on processor performance analysis, processor design, and system design, all on the IBM mainframe platform. He made major contributions to a number of System/390 and zseries mainframe processors, and helped to lead mainframe design through the transition from bipolar to CMOS technology. Charles is currently responsible for the roadmap and technical strategy for future IBM System z processors. 4 Domenico (Nico) Chillemi Executive IT Specialist IBM Tivoli z Client Technical Professional Domenico Chillemi, known as Nico, is an Executive IT Specialist in Italy and has just been appointed European Team Leader of all Tivoli z Client Technical Professionals under the guide of Patrick Joussen. He is a zchampion member and a zstack customer advocate in Italy, responsible to guarantee a match between hardware and software. Nico started his IBM career in 1985 with CICS Technical Support for internal applications, then moved to the system management area, working with the Sweden Lidingo Lab to define strategies for OPC (now TWS for z/os) and co-authoring several books related to this strategic product. His areas of expertise include Tivoli Software for the mainframe, in particular Workload Scheduling, For the last five years, Nico has been a top contributor in building the Tivoli z Demo environment in ztec Montpellier, where he has created demo and PoT assets for zsecure, TWS for z/os, Advanced Storage, Omegamon and other strategic IBM Tivoli software solutions for the mainframe. Flemming Petersen Rational and Enterprise Modernization Specialist Flemming Petersen is a Rational Enterprise Modernization Specialist in IBM Software Group Nordics. He specializes in Technical Pre-sales supporting System z software. Flemming has a background from mainframe development, and mainframe development support, in the financial industry since the eighties. For the last 15 years he has been working in the software industry with Application Lifecycle Management for System z and distributed systems. 4

Henrik Thorsen IBM Nordic Technical Director, Senior Consultant and IT Specialist Henrik Thorsen worked with large systems for 30 years, and was involved with LSUs for the last 26 years.

He also worked in Poughkeepsie and there he held both management and large systems technical project leader positions across the years.

Henrik is currently working as System z technical sales leader for the Nordic countries. His responsibilities include both pre-sales and sales activities within IBM. He is presently working on Unified Resource Manager also known as zmanager, the platform management firmware for zenterprise systems. He has extensive experience in design/development of Performance Management software. Prior to joining zmanager project, he was working on z/os Workload Management. He had made significant contribution to development of Intelligent Resource Director (IRD) on z/series. He has more than 30 years of experience in working with IBM System z mainframes, mainly with z/vse, z/vm, and Linux on System z. Prior to joining STG, Per worked in IBM Strategic Outsourcing as a Systems Programmer and a Technical Solution Manager. 8

Soeren Understrup IBM GDPS Developer Soren Understrup is a Senior IT Specialist working out of ITS Denmark, specialized in GDPS. He has 40 years of experience with the IBM mainframe and has been working with GDPS since 1998 supporting GDPS implementations at customers both locally and internationally. He is also regularly involved in the documentation delivered as part of the GDPS solution. He is a member of the GDPS Design Council and contribute to the IBM WW delivery as a core team member in the Community of Practice. 9

He has been with IBM for 10 years, and first worked as a consultant focusing on High Availability solutions and Security on z/os. Uno now specializes in System z and z/os. 11

Wolfgang currently works in the IBM Information Management Development lab in Boeblingen, Germany, as Product Manager for the IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator. 12
