2 Overview This guide will give you step by step instructions for using the Wright College Library Databases to research works of art and artists. EBSCO Academic Complete and Premier Go to the Wright College Library page at wright.ccc.edu/library. The Wright College Library page will load. Click the Find Articles link under Start your research. A new page will load with a list of the library s databases. 2

3 Click the EBSCO Academic Complete and Premier link to open the database. The database will load. Enter your keywords in the search box provided. What is a keyword? A keyword is a term or phrase related to the topic you are researching. To develop keywords, think of the core ideas of your topic. Then click the search button to submit your search. Click the check box next to Full Text to find full-text articles. Results will load. Click the full text link under the description of the database to open the article. 3

4 The article will open. On the right you will see the Tools menu. Click the white envelope to the article. Click the cite icon to get the citation format you would use for your list of References or Works Cited page. Note: Citations generated from the database are not completely accurate compare with a source your instructor recommends. 4

5 Click the printer icon to print the article. Note: Do not click the print icon in the Tools menu. It does not print the full-text of the article. JSTOR JSTOR is a database that contains articles from academic journals. The subjects covered are the arts and art history. It contains publication such as Art Bulletin, Art in America, and Art Journal. Finding Articles Go to the Wright College Library page at wright.ccc.edu/library. The Wright College Library page will load. Click the Find Articles under Start your research. A new page will load with a list of the library s databases. 5

6 Find JSTOR database in the list of library databases. Click on the linked name to open it. The database page will load. Enter your keywords in the search box provided. What is a keyword? Results will load. Click the Article PDF link under the description of the article to open it. 6

7 Click Accept JSTOR s Terms and Conditions and proceed to PDF to open the article. The article will open. Click the save and print icons to keep a copy for your records. 7

8 ProQuest Newspapers ProQuest Newspapers is a database that contains articles from magazines, newspapers, and journals. The subjects covered are: the arts, art history, and news & newspapers. Finding Articles Go to the Wright College Library page at wright.ccc.edu/library. The Wright College Library page will load. Click the Find Articles under Start your research. A new page will load. Scroll down until you see Find Articles which contains a list of the library s databases. Find ProQuest Newspapers database in the list of library databases. Click on the linked name to open it. The database page will load. 8

To develop keywords, think of the core ideas of your topic. Then click the magnifying glass icon to submit your search. Results will load. Click the full text link under the description of the article to open it. Click the , print, or Export/Save links to keep a copy for your records. Click the cite link to get the citation format for your list of references. Find Articles from Home You can access the library s databases from home. Click Find Articles from Home under Start your research on the library s home page. 9

10 The login page for will open. In the Your username and Your password box enter the username and password you use for student , Blackboard, and My.CCC.edu (the student portal). Click the Submit button once you have entered your username and password. 10

Click the linked name of the database to access it.
