GAPS THAT EXIST/COMMENTS: Assignments in a learning module do not display comments box for students in Firefox. When previewing a and the Edit Mode is "Off" the student comment textbox does not appear. When you change Edit Mode to "On" the student comment textbox does appear. Embedded flash video within a learning module does not display in Firefox. Table of Contents becomes visible on navigating through pages when set as hidden. User are able to see Table of Contents even when it is set as hidden in settings. On first accessing the the Table of Contents is correctly hidden, though on navigating through the to an Assignment content item results in the Table of Contents becoming visible. DESIRED FUNCTIONALITY: The page loads, including comment box. The flash video plays. The pages should display without the Table of Contents. WORK AROUND Students can submit comments when submitting assignments by typing their comments in the text submission box, or attach a file from their local computer. Alternatively, they can use Internet Explorer. A workaround is to use a different browser e.g. Internet Explorer to view the flash video. Alternatively, you can place a web link to the external URL or put the flash video in a content folder outside a learning module. When creating an assignment, use the Limit Availability options area to set date and time limits for students to access the assignment. Set the assignment to display on a specific date and time and stop displaying on a specific date and time. Select the Display After and Display until check boxes to enable the date and time selections. Type dates and times in the boxes or use the pop-up Date Selection Calendar and Time Selection Menu to select dates and times.
Students receive overdue notification for all items in learning modules regardless of submission status. All Assessment types created with due dates inside of s send an overdue What's Past Due notification to a student in the Alerts module even when the submission was made before the deadline. A notification also remains in the To Do module suggesting that a submission has not occurred. Assignments Inside Learning Modules that Allows Multiple Attempts Throws Error while Accessing Second Time. It is reported that an error occurs when students want to submit assignment. This issue has to do with multiple submission, if a student is attempting another submission the user gets the error, even though the assignment is set to accept "unlimited" submissions. Class-to-class navigation Class-to-Class navigation generates ERR (When using Classto-Class Navigation to switch between classes that do not have same menu item currently displayed, window with no content is displayed or a page without menu has only "ERR" displayed.) Student Assignment submissions sent before the specified Assignment Due Date should mean no notification being displayed about it in the To Do and Alerts modules Page for submission displayed Move to new course's link You can edit the notification settings by clicking the Global Navigation menu on the top right of the screen and choosing the course site in the Edit Individual Course Settings section. Select the notifications in the Dashboard column that you want to see in the Notifications Dashboard or a course site. Click Submit to save your changes. A workaround is to use a different browser e.g. Internet Explorer. Alternatively, you can set the assignment to only allow a single attempt without forced completion. This means the student can START the same attempt at the assignment as often as they like, but they can only SUBMIT it for grading once. The students will only see the one set of questions even if they go away and come back. Go to My WVU ecampus to view all your courses
Notification Instructors do not Receive a Needs Grading Notification for Submissions of Assignments that Reside Within Learning Modules Full Grade Center Submitting a Second Save As Draft Attempt does not Update the Grade Center Date Submitted or Saved Column (When students submit a second Save As Draft attempt, the Grade Center Date Submitted or Saved does not update to the time of the second Save.) Groups Sign-up Sheet Only Groups Lead to Access Error (If an instructor creates a Group to be available as a Sign-up Sheet Only and puts a link to the Group in Content (for example), the student is able to click the Sign-Up button and they are added to the Group, but they are presented with a red banner access error rather than a confirmation message. If the instructor puts the Sign-up Sheet in the Groups area, though, when students sign-up, they get a green confirmation that their enrollment is done but the group isn't available) Groups Students able to Create Forums when Instructor Selects Do not Allow Student Group Members to Create Forums. (The student is able to create forums.) The instructor should receive an notification for both assignment submissions. The time should be updated. A confirmation like the one students see when they sign-up for "sign-up sheet only" groups from the Groups area (Success: You have successfully enrolled in the group. The group space is currently unavailable.) The student should not be able to copy or create forums.
Import Images Attached to Discussion Board Posts are Broken when the Discussion Board is Imported (The discussion board is imported successfully, but its URL is not properly constructed as it still points to the xid of the original images.) Posts The Cancel Button is Disabled when Attempting to Reply to a Post through the My Blackboard Global Navigation Menu. When visiting the Posts area through the My Blackboard Global Navigation Menu, the Cancel button can be disabled upon attempting to reply to a post and on submitting the response an exception error is experienced. Tests Page Hangs/Freezes when Selecting Questions to Reuse in Firefox 29, IE and Chrome. Achievements Achievements - Print Certificate Button not Working (Students are unable to print their Achievement certificate from the Criteria page after they've earned the achievement. The Print button is not responsive. ) Blogs Individual Blogs are not Visible to Others and Tutors when not Set as Gradable (Individual blogs are not visible to others and tutors when not set as gradable. When The image URL should be within the course the discussion was imported into. The post should be submitted and the user returned to the Posts area. User should be able to see the questions displayed. A new window opens with the certificate in it All other course members can view and add comments. It is recommended that both the instructor and students reply posts within the Discussion Board area instead of the My Blackboard Global Navigation. Recommend using Firefox 28 and Safari to create tests. Use the Print Certificate button found on the Reward Details overview rather than the one found after clicking one of the Criteria links Visible to instructor through the grade center.
an Individual blog is set up, pages added by the owner of the blog are not visible to other people on the site to comment on, or even the tutors.) Content Editor Content Editor Paste from Word will not Strip Certain Code in Firefox and Chrome (The VTBE/Content Editor in SP14 will not strip certain Microsoft code in Firefox and Chrome, causing two issues surrounding copy/paste from Word Firefox: Copy/paste from Word into the VTBE does not remove the Word code when using Firefox. 2. Chrome: Copy/paste from Word when the Word doc contains images into the VTBE does not remove the image tags, leaving visible box placeholders where the images should be. Content Editor Paste from Word Issues with Content Editor (Additional invisible XML is added to the Content Editor version when copying text from Microsoft Word and pasting into Blackboard when using Firefox 24, Chrome 30, or Internet Explorer 9 or 10 on a PC.) Content Editor When in Chrome and you Upload a Youtube Mashup Video and Enter Text on the Side of Video the Result is that the Video will not Play Extraneous code should be stripped when copying and pasting from word into the content editor. Additional code should not be added when copying and pasting from word into the content editor. Video plays A workaround only exists to sanitize student data. It WILL NOT work for instructors or admins. In short this will SANITIZE Students posting through the vtbe for discussion boards, journals, wikis, comments, anywhere they can place data into the system via the VTBE it will sanitize out the microsoft code and other data which should not be allowed. Convert file to a text file and then copy and paste. Use another browser.
Course Menu HTML Tags Display in Menu Items After Using Rename Link (If menu links are modified with HTML tags, the tags will display instead of having the effects render. This is only apparent after reloading the course.) Course Reports Student Overview for Single Course Report has no Student Activity by Item in the Course Data (When attempting to generate a Student Overview for Single Course report, the report is returning incomplete results) Discussion Thread Missing Option to Add Rubric to Thread Discussion Board Needs Grading Icon Inside Discussion Board is Inconsistent (When modifying a discussion board to be graded, a green exclamation mark appears when it should be the yellow (warning).) Full Grade Center Edit Grade Should not be Entered on Save As Draft Entries (Instructors should not be able to enter grade in 'Edit Grade' for Save As Draft assignments.) Full Grade Center / My Grades Difference in the Rounding of Grades in My Grades Page and Grade Center (Rounding of grades The item should display with the formatting and not display the HTML tags. A detailed report and general data about the activity There is an option to add a Rubric. Icon is an exclamation point in a yellow circle Grade option should not show. The value should be the same in both views. This function is not available in the current version of Blackboard Learn, instead rubrics can be used at the forum level.
is done differently on My Grades student view and the Grade Center resulting in different grade values.) Full Grade Center Advancing a Page in Grade Questions Throws an Error Global Navigation Menu Header is Partly Hidden After Clicking Global Navigation Menu in IE (Header not visible in Internet Explorer when clicking on the global navigation menu. The header is partly hidden.) Group Assignment Preview Upload Assignment Data Saved to Group Assignment (When an instructor accesses a group assignment it link shows: Preview Upload Assignment: [Assignment Name] You are previewing the assignment - your submission will not be saved. This gives the impression that no data about the preview will be recorded against the Assignment. This is not the case.) Group Discussions Group Discussion Forums with Due Dates do not Appear on the Calendar for Student Group Members (Group Discussion Forums with Due Dates do not Appear on the Calendar for Student Group Members. They do appear to course instructors, and group blogs, wikis, journals and other assignments with due dates User should be able to proceed to the next page. User should have full view of the global navigation menu The message 'This action is prohibited. User does not have the required access to save or submit the assignment.' is displayed. No data is recorded. Group discussion forum due date appears on the calendar for student group members and instructors. Use a different browser Students can find due dates from their syllabus/calendars/etc.
do appear correctly for group members.) Open in new window option is not available when creating learning module files. Learning modules reordering items via drag/drop or Reorder Content places the first item indented to the right. Using with Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and displaying items in the Learning module. For some reason, it seems that there is a div that is not closed properly in the code that makes it indent the first item when you move it to the first position. Either by Reorder: Content or Drag/Drop. When you go in your course learning module, with IE9 maximized on the screen and if you drag an item to be the first position of the Learning module. The first item is always indented compared to the rests. HTML files uploaded into Learning Module content areas become stretched. HTML files created using Microsoft Word and uploaded into a content area stretches horizontally and vertically on display resulting in browser scroll bars. Manual Enroll Group Set Adding a Manual Enroll Group Set to a Content Area Results in Error (Adding a manual enroll group set to a content area results in File or The create file page displays an option for the file to Open in New Window. Reorder items without indenting The HTML file displays without scroll bars. The group set should be placed on the content page. No Work around Browser has to be maximized on the screen No work around Create the group in the groups area first then add the group to a content page.
Directory not found error message.) Add Menu Item Tool Link Menu creates duplicate choices when creating from a content page. When building a new tool link the drop down menu will be double in size and have duplicate entries to choose from. These entries are not harmful as they make the same link no matter what. These duplicates only show up if you are on a Content page. A tool page such as Announcements, Discussion boards, or the Home page of a new course will not exhibit this behavior when you make a new tool link. Needs Grading The Maximize Button in Needs Grading does not Persist to the Next Attempt (When grading using the maximized button and you try to move to the next or previous student, the maximized display is not maintained but its switched back to minimized view) Needs Grading Graded Discussion Board Attempts in Needs Grading Do Not Appear in the Grade History Report (Graded Discussion Board Attempts in Needs Grading Do Not Make an Entry in the Grade History Report) Randomized Groups Randomize Groups Option does not Include Ability to Cancel the Action (After creating randomized Only one set of options be present. Selecting the button should move to the next attempt. Discussions that need to be graded should be visible through grade history There is an option to Cancel the action. Create tool links from a tool page such as Announcement, Discussion boards, or the Home page of a new course. No Workaround
groups in a course, when trying to reassign the enrollment in a set of randomized groups, there is no option to cancel the action once selected.) Posts My Blackboard Posts Page Reply Function Broken with Discussion Building Block (When attempting to reply to a message through the Global Navigation menu, a similar error is displayed: {"forumid":"_1_1","messageid":" _2_1","messages":[{"error":false," exception":null,"extracss":"","f) Retention Center Retention Center Causes Internet Explorer and Chrome Browsers to Stop Responding When Rendered if There are Student Alerts (The Retention Centre in a Course causes Internet Explorer and Chrome browsers to stop responding when rendered if there are alerts (Missed Deadlines, Grade Alert, Activity Alert, Access Alert) for students) Retention Center Retention Center Does Not Load (When entering the Retention Center in a course, the page will not load and eventually times out.) Rubric Rubric Row Cannot be Edited to Add Alignments (Rubric criteria edit is scrunched together in a single-row popup, so one can't The reply should submit and the posts page is displayed. Page should fully load. Retention Center loads. User should be able to view what is being entered or edited. Instructor and students can reply to posts within the Discussion Board area instead of the My Blackboard Global Navigation Use Firefox to view the content Use Firefox

Smart View Editing a Smart View with Custom Groups can Break the Smart View (When editing a Smart view and the user criteria is set as a Custom Group, the smart view can break.) Surveys Status in Survey Options does not do Anything (When the survey status is ticked, Students see whether the survey is complete or incomplete, hence when the status is unticked, they shouldn't see whether the survey is complete or not.) Tests Unable to Save Test Options with Timer Options Enabled with User Exceptions. A browser dialogue message is displayed stating "Test Completion Time must be a valid number up to 420 minutes/ 7 hours. A browser dialogue message is presented to users when attempting to save Test Options with Timer options enabled with timer availability exceptions set for students. Tests When editing Test Options and using IP Restrictions, sometimes the BLOCK * is ordered above ALLOW IP Address. The BLOCK statement is now first and the ALLOW statement is now second. Type of view and user criteria saved The "Review Survey Submission" page for the survey without the "Status" checkbox ticked should not show that the survey has been completed. The selected test option is saved. The IP settings are the same and still in the original order. The time allotted is more than commonly used
Tests Test Availability: Exceptions do not Override Past Due Dates (If a student is set up as an exception to the Availability rules and if a due date is utilized the student can still not access the test beyond the due date.) Tests Calculated Formula Questions do not Allow Variables with more than 1 Character Tests Unable to Save Test Options with Timer Options Enabled with User Exceptions (A browser dialogue message is presented to users when attempting to save Test Options with Timer options enabled with timer availability exceptions set for students.) To Do Module Discussion Board Due Dates do not Display in the To Do Module. Discussion Board forums set to be graded with a due date will not display in the To Do module. Previously it was possible to add a due date to a graded forum through the Grade Center and it would (and still does) display in the To Do module. Work Offline Cannot Upload Feedback for Manually Created Columns (If the Grade Center containing manually created columns is downloaded, any changes or feedback comments added to the manual The student should be able to access and take the test. The answer sets are updated with the possible correct answers The selected test option is saved. The To Do module should present a What s Due notification for the Discussion Board. Comments should be displayed Set the due date later and editing the availability of select student up until the later due date. Uncheck the Due Date from the forum settings and instead add the due date via that Grade Center column for that forum, it will display in the To Do module. Place the comments directly into the grade center
column on the downloaded file will not be reflected on the Grade Center after upload. Grade changes will still work.) Work Offline Offline Grade Center Download Shows String instructor.download.column.total Appended to Column Titles (When downloading a grade center for offline grading, the column titles will display the additional text "instructor.download.column.tota l" appended to the column titles. Uploading the file back to the Grade Center changes the column title to have the extra wording.) Grade center titles and notifications appear correctly. Remove the added text strings from the file before uploading to avoid the column names from being altered.
