Accessing sample assessments Follow these steps to start the sample assessment: 1. When you see the Log in box shown below, enter you keycode. 2. Click on OK to proceed. 3. Next, check your details and click Confirm if they are correct. 4. On the Agree to Terms box, read through the T&Cs, tick Yes, I accept and click Confirm.. 2

3 Level 3 Advanced Diploma synoptic sample assessment The synoptic assessment for the Advanced Diploma in Accounting will be made up of two parts. Students will complete Part 1 in the locked down environment of SecureClient in the same way as all other assessments. Part 2 requires the assessment system to be unlocked to enable students to access spreadsheet software. Any time remaining following the completion of Part 1 cannot be transferred to Part 2. It will not be possible for students to return to Part 1 once they have completed it and moved onto Part 2. To access third party software in the unlocked part, you will be required to press CTRL+ALT+TAB to reveal the start menu and task bar. Alternatively you can press the windows button to reveal these. Uploading files to sample assessments Sample assessments are designed to reflect the live assessment environment. On some sample assessments, you will be requested to upload files as this is a requirement of the live assessment. When you move away from a file attach question, you will be presented with a summary informing you of what has been uploaded. Please note however that for Applied Business Communications and Personal Skills (ABPS), Professional Ethics (PETH) and sample assessments accessible via the website, students are not required to upload any files. Although you will still be presented with the pop-up summary, this should be closed and ignored. Issues displaying content Below are two ways of working around display problems you may encounter. However, these may not work if your device does not meet the minimum requirements. Workarounds for problems displaying assessments: full screen mode Below is the first page of the assessment. As you can see the Start Assessment button is partially obscured. 3

4 Sometimes this may appear off the screen completely. Press F11 on your keyboard to correct this. If you are using a Mac, you may need to press Cmd + CTRL + F If this doesn t help, try the next step. 4

Workarounds for problems displaying assessments: screen resolution You may be able to correct display issues by adjusting your screen resolution.

Depending on your version of Windows, a box similar to this one below should appear. Select the Settings tab (shown below).

To adjust the screen resolution on a Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Displays. Click Display, click Scaled then select a resolution.

5 Workarounds for problems displaying assessments: screen resolution You may be able to correct display issues by adjusting your screen resolution. To do this: Right click anywhere on your desktop and select Properties from the pop up menu. Depending on your version of Windows, a box similar to this one below should appear. Select the Settings tab (shown below). Then select a higher resolution (minimum 1280 by 960 pixels) and click Apply/OK. To adjust the screen resolution on a Mac: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Displays. Click Display, click Scaled then select a resolution. Go to the Apple Support page for adjusting Mac screen resolution if you need more information.
