1 3D Model Uploading Tutorial In this tutorial I will be covering how to share your model once you have completely finalized it. I will specifically be teaching you how to upload your model to the 3D model sharing website Sketchfab. Your model can then be embedded onto other websites and shared over social media. Uploading your model online is very beneficial because it does not require others to have any additional software. It makes your creations accessible not only in this respect but it allows anyone to view your models from any device computer, tablet, mobile, etc. Sketchfab is a great community of artists, product designers, educators, cultural heritage specialists, and more. Create an account First you will want to create a free account at to begin if you haven t already. 1. Click the Sign Up button in the upper right corner of the page. 2. Enter a username, , and password and click Create Account. 3. Set up your account how you would like. 4. Hover over your icon in the upper right corner of the page and select Settings from the drop-down menu. 5. Select Password & API. 6. Copy your API token. Uploading from Agisoft PhotoScan

2 Once your account is all set up, open your model in Agisoft PhotoScan. 1. Select File > Upload Model 2. This will then open the model upload dialog, enter your API code in the appropriate space. 3. Add in a Title and a Description. This can always be changed later through the Sketchfab website.

3 4. Click OK. Once this is done uploading your model will be added to your Sketchfab profile. Editing your model in Sketchfab Once your model is uploaded to Sketchfab it might not look quite how you would like. 1. Go to your main profile page and select the model you would like to edit. 2. Below the model select Settings > 3D settings. 3. You will now be in the model editor. When you uploaded your model it most likely was upside down. To correct orientation, under the first tab called Scene (a gear symbol) you will see Straighten model. Click the X, Y, and Z rotations using the arrows and/or tick the Show advanced rotation box to bring up a rotation ball on your model for a more precise adjustment. 4. On this same tab, you can adjust the Camera Field Of View to change the degree at which your model is seen. 5. You can also change the Renderer which deals with the type and quality of your texture colors. I would suggest keeping Classic but would recommend testing out PBR and see how the colors change between the two.

4 6. For Shading select Lit from the drop down menu to add some realism to your model. 7. Under Background, on this same page, experiment with various environments or solid background colors and pick the one that best suits your model and what you hope to achieve. 8. Under the Lighting tab you can select and adjust the lighting on your model. Select each direction to bring up a rotation ball to adjust the direction of each of your lights. On this same page you can also change the background image of your model. Experiment! 9. When you are finished, click Save View to save how your model will look in the thumbnail and once it is initially opened. Then click Save Settings to save all of the work you ve done here.

5 Annotating Your Model You can also add annotation markers on your model to draw attention to particular areas. 1. Go to your model page and select Settings > Annotations. This same section can also be reached within the 3D settings editor under the Annotations tab. 2. Move your model into the position you would like your viewer to see it in and then double click are the area you would like to place your annotation. This will bring up a dialog that will allow you to give this annotation a title and a description.

6 3. Now you can add as many annotations as your would like and can edit all previous annotations from this tab. 4. Be sure to click Save Settings when you re finished!
