1 AltiumLive - Dashboard Frozen Content Modified by on 13-Sep-2017 Additional Resources FAQs Glossary When we purchase something, we like to (quite rightly) take ownership of, and control how, that something is used. Having established an account with Altium, you will typically have purchased the license(s) required to access and use your Altium Design solution(s). In addition, you may have purchased additional Altium Subscription for that software giving you access to the latest features and functionality for the software as they become available, access and use of Satellite Vaults, and the ability to download and use other content provided through the AltiumLive Content Store. As an administrator for your account with Altium, you should have the control and flexibility to view and manage your account from the general-level details regarding your organization, through to creation and management of users (and specific groups of users) associated to that account, and the assignment and use of those licenses you have purchased. To this end, Altium provides you with access to the AltiumLive Dashboard part of the AltiumLive ecosystem. The Dashboard is a dedicated area that allows administrators of an Organization's Altium account to manage the users, licenses and other assets associated to that account, as well as defining the Organization's profile which can be made public, for viewing by other Organizations and their users, within the AltiumLive community. Account management of any type should never feel burdensome. With the AltiumLive Dashboard, being able to manage all aspects of an Organization's account is both intuitive and expedient, and all from the one convenient location. The Dashboard will even notify of pending items requiring action, such as renewing that subscription that is about to expire and enable renewal to be conducted right there-and-then, online and hassle free, allowing the Organization to remain licensed with continuous subscription and access to all the benefits that that entails. Accessing the Dashboard AltiumLive has undergone updates since this page was written. Access to the Dashboard is now made from the Community drop-down menu in AltiumLive.

2 Access to the Dashboard is made from within AltiumLive. Ensure you are signed in to the AltiumLive community using your AltiumLive Account Credentials. Once there, simply click on the Altium Dashboard link at the top-left of the page. Access the Dashboard as part of the wider AltiumLive community. Only those with administrative privileges (Group Administrators) will have access to the Dashboard, and the ability to view and modify their Organization's account. Dashboard Mechanics The Dashboard has been built using a modular architecture so that new functionality can be released without changing the user interface model. Each Dashboard 'module' appears in the Dashboard as a distinct sub-page (or sub-section), with the exception of the Overview page, which is part of the core

3 Dashboard 'platform', into which the additional modules plug-in. The Dashboard has a modular architecture - additional functionality is made available through modules that plug-in to its core platform. An initial default set of modules are included with the Dashboard, providing the following pages/functionality (in addition to the base Overview page): Profile allowing for the management of Organization details, including general information (website, contact numbers, description), billing and shipping addresses, and ability to upload a corporate logo. Users allowing for the management of users associated to the account. Groups allowing for the management of groups for the account. Licenses allowing for management and allocation of licenses associated to the account. Each sub-page of the Dashboard can be accessed from links in the main banner area. Sub-pages are also interlinked to varying degrees, allowing you to quickly jump to the information you need to view, or the aspect of the account that you need to modify, with streamlined expediency. The following sections take a closer look at the constituent pages within the Dashboard, and provide a summarizing overview of what each one offers in terms of managing your Organization's account and assets with Altium. Overview Entering the Dashboard for the first time, or clicking the Overview link while viewing another subpage, will take you to the Overview page presenting, as its name suggests, an overview of your Altium Account. The page is essentially divided into four regions, as illustrated in the following image and listed thereafter.

Additional Documentation Note that the name of the account is presented in a separate, static pane, that is available irrespective of the page of the Dashboard currently being viewed. This same pane also houses the Dashboard's search facility. Any changes you make to information on any of the pages within the Dashboard should refresh automatically in your browser instance. However, it is possible that others, who have administrative access to the account, are also making changes. To ensure that you are

5 viewing the latest account information, you can manually refresh the account details by clicking the Refresh button at the top-right of the page essentially retrieving the latest stored details for the account from Altium. Account Details A convenient summary of some general account details. This region of the page provides three pieces of information: Company Logo the image currently used to represent the Organization. This is the logo that will be seen by other organizations and their users within the AltiumLive community, and helps to raise the profile of the Organization within the community. After all, a name is powerful, but people often recognize a company instantly by its associated logo. A logo can be uploaded and changed from the Profile page of the Dashboard. Company website link the URL currently specified for the Organization's website. This web-link is defined as part of the Organization's profile, on the Profile page of the Dashboard. Graphical Account Summary A visual summary of users and license on the account. This region of the page presents two sections of information for the account, displayed both textually and graphically: Users the total number of users associated to the account, and how many are Active and Inactive. Licenses (Seats) the total number of license seats available in the account, broken down into license status (Perpetual, with subscription, Perpetual, no subscription, and Time-based), along with the number of license seats that have expired.

6 In each case, the 'breakdown' information is represented graphically through the use of an associated pie chart. Hovering the cursor over a 'pie portion' will display the quantity represented by that portion. Hover over a pie chart to display the quantity represented by each portion! Clicking on a View link will take you to the corresponding page within the Dashboard offering more detailed information on users or licenses, and with the relevant grouping and filtering applied accordingly. Click a View link to access more detailed information. Notifications This region of the page presents various collapsible panes listing items associated to the account that require your attention. These include: Licenses with recently expired Subscription listing perpetual licenses whose software Subscription has recently expired. Licenses with Subscription expiring soon listing perpetual licenses whose software Subscription is nearing its expiry date. Time-based licenses expiring soon listing time-based licenses that are nearing their expiry

7 date. Use the Notifications region to aid you in keeping your Altium Account organized and licenses and subscriptions current and active. Click on an item entry in a list to jump to the detailed page for that item, for example a license. Click the Contact Sales button in a notifications pane to contact Altium Sales, directing you to a page in which to submit an inquiry and have Altium contact you to effect a solution.

8 Contact Altium Sales to organize renewing or rejoining Subscription for applicable licenses. Additional Documentation This region of the page provides links to additional documentation resources: Documentation Resources: a collection of PDF-based documentation in support of Altium Design Solutions, with a scattering of links to key articles in the Wiki for good measure! Dashboard Wiki: the documentation for the Dashboard within techdocs.altium.com (taking you to the page you are currently viewing!). Altium Videos: all of the video-documentation available in support of Altium Design Solutions. Where the written documentation offers the 'nuts and bolts' detail, these videos aim to give a visual overview of a feature or area of the software, highlighting key concepts. They provide a concentrated burst of pin-pointed information to get you quickly up-to-speed with a particular subject matter. Design Secrets: targeting the "Design Secret" category of the Altium Videos page. Design Secret videos offer concise, engaging viewing of hints, tips and processes to enhance productivity. They reflect concentrated 'tricks of the trade' acquired through the experience of expert Altium Designer users and Altium Application Engineers. Profile Clicking the Profile link will take you to the Profile page, presenting top-level information for the account itself, with editable sections for general company details, billing address and shipping address. To make changes, simply click in a field and type the required entry, or select from a drop-down listing, as applicable. To commit the changes, click the Update button at the bottom of the page.

9 View and edit top-level information for your account. Creating Organizational Presence All organizations will have a profile that can be made public, for viewing by other organizations (and their users) within the AltiumLive community. The following information, sourced from the Organization's account, will be available on that Organization's profile page: Organization's name the name of the Organization. Company Logo the visual tag that accompanies an Organization's name. A company is typically recognized instantly through its catchy, visually engaging logo. Use of a logo is optional, and the associated image can be uploaded through the Dashboard's Profile page. Simply click the Change company logo link. In the dialog that appears, browse to the relevant logo image maximum size 220x220 pixels and stored in JPG or PNG format and click the Upload button.

10 Upload an image of your company logo to enhance your presence in the community further still! To clear use of a logo image, simply access the dialog and click the Clear button. Description a brief description of the Organization, such as what it does, the services it provides its customers, and so on. Website the URL to the company's website. This is specified using the Website field, on the Dashboard's Profile page. List of users all the active users associated to that Organization's account. This list is optional, with control over its inclusion provided through the Display Users option, on the Dashboard's Profile page. To make your Organization's profile public for viewing by the wider AltiumLive community ensure the Public option is enabled in the General Information region of the Dashboard's Profile page. The Organization's profile can be accessed by clicking the related link to that profile, on the profile page of any of its users.

11 Access an Organization's public profile page using the link available from one of its user's profile pages. A link to an Organization's Profile page can also be accessed from other areas within the AltiumLive community, typically located in the vicinity of a user's name. For example beneath a user's name in a Forum post, or to the right of a user's name in a BugCrunch report or comment. Users Main article: AltiumLive Dashboard - Managing Users Management of users for the account is performed from the Users page of the Dashboard. Users are individuals that are registered in AltiumLive as members of your organization's Altium Account. A user is simply a person who it is intended will use a licensed seat of an Altium Design solution. Users can access various features and capabilities within the AltiumLive community, determined through the relationship they have with their parent Organization. If you are an existing Altium customer, getting an AltiumLive account is quick and easy - just ask the Group Administrator for your organization's Altium Account. Using the Dashboard, the Administrator can quickly create new AltiumLive accounts for all members of your organization, with activation taking less than 5 minutes! All active users will be listed by default, with controls available to group, sort and filter the list in a variety of ways, as required.

12 Create a 'database' of people who are to use the license(s) associated to your Altium Account. The users inherit access to AltiumLive services available to their parent Company. Each user in the list is displayed in terms of: User Name address An avatar icon/image uploaded as part of their AltiumLive account. At this top level you can add a new user to the account, deactivate an active user, or reactivate (or delete) a currently inactive user. Clicking on an individual user's name in the list, or using the Edit command from the associated control drop-down, accesses their full user details, from where you can: View and edit the user s account member details. Assign the user to a group, or number of groups. Deactivate/Activate/Delete the user. Note that resources cannot be assigned to a deactivated user, but the user will remain listed (unless deleted) and can be reactivated at a later date.

13 Groups Main article: AltiumLive Dashboard - Managing Groups Management of groups for the account is performed from the Groups page. Groups allow you to further organize your users according to, for example, the particular section of the Organization in which they are involved, or the design team they are in. Groups make assignment of licenses more streamlined. Licenses Main article: AltiumLive Dashboard - Managing Licenses Management of licenses for the account is performed from the Licenses page. From here, you can view the licenses that your Organization has purchased from Altium. All active (non-expired) licenses will be listed by default, with controls available to group, sort and filter the list in a variety of ways, as required. Search Facility To quickly source a user, group, or license within your account, the Dashboard has been fitted with a search facility, which can be found at the right-hand side of the static pane containing the account name. Simply enter keywords for a search as required, then either press Enter, or click the search facility is case-insensitive. Searching is across the following account elements: User Name (First Name and/or Last Name). User address. Group Name. License Name. License Serial Number. License Activation Code. button. The
