1 Quick Reference Guide Joint Objective setting - Employee During the Objective Setting Phase you and your Leader will develop a Performance and Development Review (PDR) for the year ahead. Access mycareernet Access Mycareernet using the link on the left hand menu bar on the home page of The Grid or click on this link TIP: Remember to turn off your internet browser Pop-Up Blocker. Welcome page Hover your mouse over About me to expand the drop down list. Click Performance & Development Reviews. OR From Useful actions click Performance dashboard. The Performance dashboard displays your Timeline, My reviews and Quick links From Useful actions click Performance & Development Reviews. Page 1 of 6 PageUp People 1 July 2013
2 Performance dashboard My reviews will show your current Performance and Development Review and the stage your review is in. Click on the icon to open your The Timeline will display your journal entries on the date you leave the entry. You can zoom in on the timeline by clicking and dragging your mouse. Performance and Development Review. It will open in a new window. To see an overview of the entire PDR process click the icon. Use the Quick links to edit your profile, access your journal and forms My Performance & Development Reviews Use the Status select list to search for Current or Complete PDR s The Status colums shows what stage your PDR is in. Click on the Open review link From the I want to select list you can select from Open review, View the job description, or View the review process Page 2 of 6 PageUp People 1 July 2013
3 Navigation To progress to the next page of the PDR click Next in the bottom right hand corner of the page or You can click on the page title in the navigation bar to go to any page in the PDR NOTE: Your PDR will automatically save any changes when you leave a page. Joint Objective Setting You will be presented with some information to read about what this stage involves. Use the help buttons for help setting objectives, for example Setting SMART Objectives Depending on your role you may be required to Assign category weightings to the four performacne areas. Check with your Leader if you are unsure about the category weightiings.to assign Page 3 of 6 PageUp People 1 July 2013
4 General Notes To add a note about your PDR, click in the General notes text box. This is not mandatory When your note is finished, click Save note. General notes are visible to your Leader and 1-Up Leader To view any notes left in the review, click Show notes. Click Next in the bottom right hand corner to go to the next page of the review. Statement of Purpose You will be presented with the Statement of Purpose. Either you or your leader are required to enter the Business Unit and Team objectives. For Leaders who need to develop either Business Unit or Team objectives, objectives must relate to the four performance areas: Customer, People Management, Financial and Strategic Growth Projects and Innovation. Click Next in the bottom right hand corner to go to the next page of the review. Page 4 of 6 PageUp People 1 July 2013
5 Setting and Reviewing Your Objectives Your PDR may have all or some pre-set objectives based on your role. Most employees will have at least one pre-set mandatory objective under People Management - Personal Safety Action Plan (PSAP). You will be able to review each of your pre-set PDR objectives for the year ahead and add additional objectives You can review You can your assign objective your title here objectives and make weighting changes if here. required.* if required You are able to add objectives by clicking Add objective. You can review your objective description here and make changes if required. * Click Next when done and review your objectives for each of the performance areas. *NOTE: You may have pre-set objectives that are mandatory. You are unable to make changes or delete preset mandatory objectives. Review Summary Once you have confirmed your PDR Objectives for the coming year you are ready to finalise your PDR. Click Submit. 6 Next Step: Leader Approval You have the option to send an to your Leader. Click on Send . Your Leaders address will automatically populate. Click Submit to move your review to the next stage in the PDR process. Your Leader will be sent an advising that you have set your PDR objectives.
